Reunion is not compatible with 7th heaven as you discovered.

The game runs fine when I load it from 7H, but the texture mods won't load - the files are already in the Textures folder, and I've got 7H looking at the right place in settings. So I don't know what's going on. Even when I run it straight from the .exe it doesn't load the textures even though it did before.

EDIT: I figured it out, somewhat. i hadn't realized that the path for loading hext files had changed with the newer version of 7H. Most of them work, and the textures load properly along with them. But the cheats (like save anywhere) still won't. Do I need to find a new version for those? Oh and also, 7H keeps overwriting my modified ff7.exe file. Is there way to tell it not to do this?


Inside 7h mods, the path for hext is the same as it was way back in 7h 1.5, although ffnx has its own direct hext path for injecting hext files that are not loaded via mods.


Regarding customised executables they were deprecated, so are more difficult to use now, but it can still be done, rename the executable then in 7h general settings, point to the exe in the top box.  However bear in mind any mod may break if not using the standard executable, that is the reason it is overwritten.  Especially the case as the exe is now patched for PAE which allows larger mods to work within 7h and ffnx.

Ok I have looked at the map, and compared it to other textures, there is one showstopper along with some other minor problems.


The showstopper is that the scale is not right so wouldnt be shown accurately in the game, the map is beautiful so I am prepared to try and make this work but its going to need time to edit it to fit in the game, whether thats me doing it or asking the original author to carry it out.  For this reason it will not be in the next build of ESUI which will be released soon however I am prepared to put it in a future release.


I am attaching how it looks currently.  Can see I am to the left of the desert and the dot is in the desert, there needs to be more sea either side  the map and top and bottom, plus there is no markers for key locations which I will work on adding.

Yes you can.


You can either right click the iro, select unpack iro.  Then do same again to pack a folder back to iro format.


Or you can do this from within 7th heaven using the tools menu -> iro tools.

AAvock are you using the stock font spacing?


I will be updating the controller addon I made to support more UI mods, at the time I made it ESUI was the only active menu mod on qhimm and so I didnt feel a need to support anything else, but it wasnt the intention to lock people to ESUI who want icons so I am working on supporting other fonts.


I will be testing the controller addon update with the Zomiray font but I noticed when doing some testing the spacing wasnt quite the same as stock so I fear once I release the update it may not work cleanly for all font's, DFUI, Zomiray font, and Aavock font, but I will aim to try and get it working as best as possible between all three.


For it to work it will expect the icons in the same place in the font pallete.


Also I dont mind supply hext to allow you to add icons to the config menu (this isnt done in controller addon).

Hi guys, the code 5 fix in the upcoming update in 7h does the same as what I detailed in the sticky post.

The manual code 5 fix process is detailed in the post.  Primarily the error is caused by timing issues when launching the game, there is other tricks that can work but havent been posted as they wouldnt necessarily work for many people, whilst the fix implemented in the next build and in the sticky has been known to work for many people.

The reason it worked better in 7h 2.0 was that has a different version of easyhook included which seems more tolerant but was changed in 2.2 due to some unforeseen injection problems with .bin files in the game.

Is it related to windows 10? possibly yes, I myself had no problems with this on Windows 8.1, then after I updated my OS am now also affected.  But not everyone on Windows 10 has the problem.

Did you ever get a copy of esui lite iro? if not I will stick one up on the forum or send it to you so you can look at doing the VTUI theme for it.


Also I will try to get the controller addon changes I promised before done for its next release, based on the stock font spacing, making it compatible with your mods.

I dont mind adding it if I get permission from the author on deviantart.


But in the meantime, if you use the world textures 3.0 from the qhimm catalog and pick the 3rd retexture option it will provide a improved world map.

Holy cow. I worked on fixing this for 4 days and tinkered with so many .extensions and file properties that I had
never even heard of before and I finally got it working with all the textures loading and no injection errors ever.
I can finally play the game for the 1st time without Popeye characters and pixelated low res backgrounds. Nice!!

I hope I will never have to deal with .toml files and easyhook dll's again. Haha. I had to do that to get it working.


Glad to see, I need to make a post about 7h 2.0 now as the qhimm mod files were converted to use DDS which is a problem for the 7h 2.0 package.


I made a sticky on a way to get round the easyhook startup problem, the null error I am not sure off hand for the fix for that.

I see, thanks! But which option does activate this? I downloaded "Enhanced Stock UI-rel2" but I can't find an option for the clock. Also, I cannot activate all those UI mods as they're creating a conflict with the translation mod.
Which option exactly is for rising the max playtime hours of the clock?


There is no specific option its just automatically enabled when the mod is on.


Which translation mod are you using?

Thank you for answering, Chrysalis. Just a couple of hours ago, I found a solution! I'll post it here in case someone else will run into this problem.

I had to turn OFF the Resize Project in Field Models. I liked that mod, it made characters look better. I hope they'll improve it one day to solve this issue, as it's really a beautiful mod. I think it crashed during the Shinra HQ because when

the NPCs were dead and lying on the ground
it was causing some confict.


The good news is as of right now I am converting parts of the qhimm catalog to DDS, these newer type of textures improve stability so this may fix your problem, I will post on the forum when this is done.

We have removed the download file as it causes too many technical issues with the game.


We cant actually remove it from the catalog listing at this time which is why it shows in the list.

please attach ffnx.log from your game directory.  Grab it right after a crash as it is overwritten when the game is relaunched.

Alright that's fair. The way this game is coded, it shouldn't even have mods. I'm just upset that a lot of mods are like "use 7th heaven or JUST ours, that's it!" I hate the fact 7th heaven requires admin access to work. Like wasn't there a way around that? There must've been one. It totally messes up my game flow when I'm using steam and picture mode. I can't have that. So I just won't use it.

And the fact the disc checks are still active on an exe after all these decades. I thought someone would've just said "Yo, people can buy this game on steam, the disc version is ancient, I'm getting rid of the disc check. It's an inconvenience." I'm not the programmer though, that's on them. It's on me to figure out ways around that.

Frustrating is all.


You can extract the mods and implement them directly if you want to, the reason 7th heaven is used is it makes everything "much" easier in terms of activating the mods and supporting the mods.  It does not modify your game files so its easy to switch back to unmodded gameplay, not so easy when you manually applying mods.

Good morning.

I'm trying to run this mod. I've the Steam game.
I can't seem to install the Field Texture mod of 7.3GB. I thought it took this long because of file size, but now it's been 5 hours that it's listed as "In queue..." after I downloaded it with the client.
Anyone knows how to solve this issue? I would love to use the Field Texture mod.

Additionally, what is that mod that allows to extend max playtime from 99 to 999 hours?

As a last question, I'm playing in 16:9 but this makes 2 black borders appear up and down on the screen. Is there a way to remove them?

My mod ESUI will adjust the max hours that can be displayed, there is also other menu mods but I am not sure if they do it as well.


About the download problem for the field textures, you can try manually downloading from the 7th heaven website directly here.


https://7thheaven.rocks/  links are near the bottom.  After you download place the iro inside the same folder as the other iro folders which should be under the mods folder in your game directory by default.

Since posting, I've relocated my game to E:\Games and my problem persists. ESUI is the only mod that refuses to work. I've tried many solutions from removing affected mods, restarting 7th Heaven & my PC, isolating the mod, trying different resolutions, different aspect ratios, etc. Nothing has solved the problem. I'm truly at a loss at this point.


The one thing different in ESUI to most other mods, is it uses hext code injection to apply alignment adjustments to menu assets.  The characters not been correctly spaced out is a font spacing problem which in the current version of the mod is applied via hext code, you can feel free to DM me either on here or discord and I will try and diagnose the problem.

Providing they dont make layout changes and its just a graphical enhancement, they can be implemented the same way as the ff7 remake font was done, with a separate mod in the catalogue to be loaded on top of ESUI, so yes any developer can make a custom font as Bonez is doing and Fewtch did. :)

I have followed all the very simple instructions for 7th Heaven 2.2 but every time i click play, the launcher seems fine although i'm no expert, a window for FF7 will open as if about to start then instantly closes...no error messages, no obvious reasons... I have already made sure it is not the usual issues like the location of FF7 file. PLEASE HELP


Hi please try launching with the pull down option below the play button "play without mods".


If this works, then try with just one mod at a time, to see if a specific mod is preventing the game from launching, you can also check this post here for a potential solution, although I dont think thats your problem as you said your game windows does initially open.

1 - Navigate to the game installation folder.
2 - Right click ff7.exe and select properties.
3 - Click the compatibility tab.
4 - Select "run in 640x480 screen resolution"
5- Click ok.

This will not actually force that resolution but it is a workaround to the problem, your screen may momentarily go black when launching the game.
