So, how exactly do you go about creating avatars that change? Presumably you could do it in PHP, swapping image files every request?

Admins are just able to do that. Ammo Bandito (I think) was always a different cat pic.

I'd say I'm jealous but I honestly don't know how much I could rotate pics. I just choose one that lasts me a good long while.
