I just meant I ticked nivdia 128.

Although someone works out how to get 8bit pallet working on this card, I would be gratefull to find out how.

Hi

I've just replace my radeon 9600 with this card hoping I would be able to use  8bit textures. But I've turned them on using rivatuner, but the test still fails in ff7config. is this feature not supported by this card?

with the black screen have you tried just pressing enter. this sometimes brings up the menu.

Also you could try just using the ff7config.exe from 1.02 and leave ff7.exe as original. this may fix black screen.

I wouldn't use an XPpatch.

Hi

Are you using windows XP, if your are some of these trainers won't work. I belive its something to do with memory being access differently to win9x.

You wish to try using L. Spiro's memory Hacking

but2002: As it has already been stated: how do u know that its the nvidia patch when he hasn't stated his hardware. Also similar symptoms could occur due to entiley different Problems.

But also repeating your self isn't going to get people to agree with you and it isn't going to go down well the mods.

also if you get rivatuna from guru3d.com you can enable 8 bit textures under  the direct3d settings. This means you nolonger need to tick riva or tnt settings.

Troubleshooting / Final Fantasy VII Crash
« on: 2005-08-05 16:09:18 »
This method has fixed some similar crashes. Get the 1.02 update but only update the ff7config.exe. Leave the ff7.exe as the one suppiled by the origianl disk.

1. download: Final Fantasy 9 Protection Fix, +13 Trainer & PAL/NTSC Selector
from: http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches_f.shtml

2. make a .bin ISO Image of each disk
3. download PPF-O-Matic form mega games
4. follow innscructions to patch bin with
5. run bin with epsxe, Press O to get past cheat menu

I don't know why espxe refuses to run these patches

on fangames forum the rules appear after you login, you have select you agree before you're allowed to procede. I know this gets abit annoying every time. But perhaps it can be set up for first time users

I would be interested in being moderated. I know I've posted very little. I've been here awhile, but I only tend to post If I think I can help or have anything of interest to say.

To fix Winxp random crashes:

Back up any saves you may have
uninstall the game
reinstall
download this patch:
http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/hosting/ffsf/downloads/ff7_1.02.zip
only copy the ff7config do you ff7 dir, not ff7 exe

It should now work. Also what graphics card do you have?

to open in virtualdub you need this

http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/!!stuff/qhimm/duck.exe

Truemotion toolkit

But you won't much success as the movies appear rubbish due to new grapahics cards and bigger monitors. Also the current codec isn't that good either. It has been suggested that divx 3.11 works but I have no success.

Try the 1.02 update from here http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/hosting/ffsf/downloads/ff7_1.02.zip
just copy the ff7config.exe to ff7 install directory.

Select either tnt or riva 128, to enable direct3d.

An other option is to invest in a cheap nvidia geforce card, try ebay.

It does actaully play back any avi compression format, but I've chosen not to compress it. Its about 450 megs. I've used divx and xvid with no problems in the past.

Also as you've pointed out the tech demo is shorter, all that happens is the image freezes on the screen untill the allotted time ends and the game begins.

I have yet to fix this, but all need to do is as 10 secs (or so) of stars to the begining.
