If you're replacing it across the board, it can be easy depending on what version of FF7 you're using, and what mods you're using.

In an unmodified Steam version, it's as simple as replacing the file in the data\music_ogg folder.
If you're using the 1998 version with the latest version of Aali's driver, it's also a pretty simple file replacement, though I'm not sure off-hand where the files are.
If you're using the 1998 version with an older version of Aali's driver (I'm pretty sure this is what Bootleg uses), you need to do it in FF7Music, which Bootleg includes but might or might not install depending on which mods you chose.

I'm using the Steam version but I installed the whole bootleg thing.  But I might uninstall it and start from scratch because my Scorpicus sephiroth patch isn't working on it..

Hey, is there any simple ways to replace the music in some parts?  Like for example for the battle music I want to actually put "Those Chosen by The Planet" theme instead of the original battle theme since I have Sephiroth as my main character..

How exactly do I install this mod...?  I'm new to this.  I want Sephiroth to be the main character like the Scorpicus patch but so many animations are still missing.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: It's not that easy.

Is there a proper fully patched up Seph mod now though like the Scorpicus patch?  With fixed up animations?  Ive seen very few people with Zack mods but they were fighting against him

I have a mod by Scorpicus for the Sephiroth patch that works PRETTY well... I think it may be outdated though since I've had it since I was in highschool about 6 years or so ago...  I also wanted to see if I can replace Barret with Zack if its possible... Or Cloud for that matter.  Im getting semi familiar with wallmarket so im not sure if this is a simple fix or not

A picture of the PC version discs, or a link to your Steam profile if you end up buying it on steam.

If for whatever reason you do own the game and are using the Ultima Edition anyway... please just use your discs instead. Ultima Edition is a pile of garbage that doesn't work right with most mods.

I own the game via consoles but usually used emulators for it..  Used ultima to mod it..  Gonna purchase the PC version now.  But is it better with Steam or actual discs?  In case i have to reverse any modding ive done whats the easiest alternative to make the game go back to its original state?

You pirated the game. You will have better luck with mods with a legally purchased copy. When you can show proof that you legitimately own the game, I will remove your pirate avatar. ~Covarr

I made a mistake... I found everything needed.. Turned out my wallmarket didn't have the required files installed.. and I do legally own the game for PSX.

Hey guys.. So I'm new to this site and maybe it's been done already.. But if it has.. I'm having an extremely difficult time finding it.  Right now I'm currently running Final Fantasy VII Ultima Edition on the PC..  Just about ready to purchase the re-released copy on steam probably.  My main question is though...  Is there ANY way to get an ACTUAL Masamune mod where you are literally using the actual Masamune blade with the same stats that it had in the flashback with the same sound wav that's played everytime it strikes.. etc.  From the beginning of the game?  I have the Scorpicus Sephiroth patch on right now and it works beautifully so far of course minus the Limit breaks and a few animations..  But I can't ever find a real Masamune mod that I can use.  Has anyone found this or made this yet?
