I know how to read out the raw data into an array of 2-Byte Integers. But I wanna save the texture as a 24-Bit bitmap. For that I've got to convert the 16-Bit data into 24-Bit data.
Any Ideas?

I've d/l-ed YaBB (Yet another Bulletin Board), b'cause it's free. I've also d/l-ed some 'hacks', but how can I edit the board?
I mean the visual and function components? And do I have a preview?
Can I view the files on my comp, w/o uploading the files onto my Unix Server?
How is it with UBB?
I think this especially goes to SaiNt, Seph 3Dand some others (Qhimm?)...
(I know my questions are VERY general, I posted this to collect problems and solutions)

Could anyone who has it do me a favor, zip the 'maxsdkincludes' folder and send it to me?
Thanx

The point is: the only PSX game I have ('till now) is Parasite Eve (2).
So I wanted to ask: Which files are on the FF7 PSX CDs? There are only few files on the PE CDs: Stage0.cdf, Dummy.dmy, Inter0.str (movies), ...
Is FF organized the same way? Or has it got a file system like FF7 Win, with all it's folders, LGP files and so on? And if not, how do you get the FF7 PSX Files out of the PSX 'archives' (I guess I should have called this topic 'Ripping PSX' )

Here we go:
--------------------------------------------------------
Number of Vertexes:
Additional (w/o numverts !)
--------------------------------------------------------
Number of Colors:
Additional + Value3 (w/o numverts, too!)
--------------------------------------------------------
Number of Polygons:
Numpolys (sometimes you've got to subtract some polys, but I haven't found that value in the file header yet)
========================================================
Start of Vertex Pool:
$80 (128 in decimal)
--------------------------------------------------------
Start of the Color Pool:
$80 + (NumVerts + Additional) * 12
--------------------------------------------------------
Start of the Polygon Pool (I'm not sure 'bout this, but it worx):
$80 + (Additional + NumVerts) * 12 + (value3 + Additional) * 4 + (NumPolys + NumLines + value3) * 4 ========================================================
I don't understand what's in '(NumPolys + NumLines + value3) * 4', but I'll keep workin' on it. Perhaps it's got to do with texture alignment or something like that...
So I said that reading out the color pool in the 'numpolys + additional'-way was a waste of memory? Heh, ALMOST THE *WHOLE* WAY we decoded the .p files was just a HUGE waste of memory...
I guess nobody else found out this, b'cause nobody has programmed a 2D View for the .p files. I was just looking at Yuffie's head and I found some useless Vertx around the Point at 0 / 0 / 0. I wondered what these Verts were and I started deleting some source out of ultima and voila: These verts were read out unnecessarily...
Something else I found out:
NumVerts does only appear in field files (char.lgp), NumVerts in battle files is always 0.
Value3 does only appear in models which have textures (mostly heads). That's why I think Value3 has got something to do with Textures.
I think that's it for now.

Forgot to mention that I've uploaded some screenshot to this topic on my site...

:HEADER_BLOCK 2 < Header Block
:SKELETON n_tifa_sk < Name of Skeleton
:BONES 24 < Count of Bones below
hip < Name of current Bone
root < Name of parent Bone
3.915372 < Unknown Value
1 AAGC < Unknown name
.
.
.
The two "unknown" are the problem. How do I interpret them?
I guess that if the unknown name is '1 AAGC' the .p file for this bone is 'AAGD'. Right?
But I've got no idea what to do with the Unknown Value...
mirex: I know you know how to interpret this crap, b'cause you've written a workin' tool for that...

Does anybody of u work with Milkshape 3D? I don't think so...but:
I've developed a converter that converts the .p-Files into Milkshape-RAW-Format. It works pretty good, but until now, it only imports the polygons (with their vertexes )
I'm workin' on a new version hat can also import the colors (oh shit...)
(Thanx to Qhimm & Ficedula 4 the .p file format description)
If u'r interested in the converter, u can download it here: http://alhexx.tripod.com/apps/ff7/p_to_raw.zip" TARGET=_blank>http://alhexx.tripod.com/apps/ff7/p_to_raw.zip
U can also convert the files from the battle.lgp, but these files r HUGE! They'r about 100 x the size of the other .p files.
You've got to rename the files there (*) into .p files (*.p)
Important: U can't convert files named '**ab.p' and '**da.p'. If u try, an error will occur.
I suppose that these files aren't 3d models...
If u haven't got Milkshape u can download it here: http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/ms3d/download.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/ms3d/download.html

P.S. What do u know 'bout the battle-format 'til now?
In the middle, there should be 'Qhimm' listed. I thought 'our' Qhimm has Kim as his first name?

I had a dream tonight, I was browsing through the web, and I found another FF7 Forum I never saw before...
Then I saw a 'Ultima' Topic...it was kinda suspicious, so I took a look at it.
And there, it was: A Reply from a guy called 'Alhexx'.(Like I said, never been to this board before...) He posted a link to my download page...and then, 2 replies later, there was another guy called 'Alhexxl'. He claimed to be the 'REAL Alhexx'. And me, the 'really real Alhexx', I was sitting in front of my comp and thought: 'What the f**k?'...
Well, that is was. I guess, Seph knows this problem...and me, too, in Reality...
Like I mentioned in another topic, there's someone on the web, who doesn't like me...I think this one has registered my name at Geocities...I wonder what he's going to do...Open a Porn Site under my name???
- Alhexx
BTW - by the way
AFAIK - as far as I know
LoL -
I'd be also nice if you would work on on that list and add some expressions...
- Alhexx
How 'bout the rest of the world? Has anybody seen it? (I'm QUITE sure anybody has...)
So, what's your opinion? I can't tell u mine, b'cause the only thing I've seen was a short trailer...
- Alhexx
Am I wrong or do the girls don't post very often? I think every girl I've seen here was listed as a 'newbie'...

Alhexx is a mix of Alex (no, my real name isn't alex) and Hex (Hex-Editor ), so:
Alex + Hex = Alhexx
