Releases / Re: FF7 Crisis Core Upscale Project
« on: 2021-05-02 02:47:05 »
I love what you're doing here; it looks fantastic and makes me excited to play this game again. Is there any plans to do any work on the FMVs? If it's possible to inject different resolutions, I would be happy to work on remastering them to make this project even more complete.

So I am having some trouble getting this to work. I was originally on Windows 7, and everything seemed to be working fine. I updated to the Windows 10 preview, and now I cannot activate/deactivate any mods, or launch the game without it crashing. I've tried removing everything and starting from scratch, and I am able to download mods from the directory, but it still crashes when I try to activate/deactivate mods.

Bootleg Questions / Re: [Tutorial] Tifa's Bootleg
« on: 2013-01-12 21:01:10 »
I have searched the forum for possible solutions, but nothing I found seems to work. I have installed Bootleg 0040 over a fresh install of FF7. Everything is great, except the safe combination in the Shinra Mansion. I only see the top part of the numbers, meaning I can't actually enter the combination. I have seen multiple threads where this was an issue, but the solutions offered there have not worked for me. Can anyone point me to which file contains that, so I can use the default file to get past that part, then switch back? Or even better, what may be causing the problem to begin with?

General Discussion / Changing save location
« on: 2013-01-06 17:00:35 »
Hey everyone, not sure if this has been answered elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything.

Is there a way to change the default save location for FF7 PC? I would like to keep the saves in a shared folder to use between 2 computers. Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind. I just made a homegroup and shared the save folder.

Troubleshooting / Character files in char.lgp
« on: 2011-12-23 16:12:08 »
Hey everyone,

I have been trying to experiment a little bit with the field/world map character models. I have found some mods that will completely replace the char.lgp file with a new one to change the field models, but I have other mods that are in place in that file.

I was wondering if someone could tell me exactly which files are for which character's field models. I have found a couple posts on it, but I'm not exactly sure how to read it. For example, http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=4774.msg62916#msg62916 lists the char.lgp models, but I don't know exactly which files represent Aerith, Tifa, etc. That gives the starting locations, but I don't know which other files to replace.

I've also found this nice list: https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AniNoDVsrYhVdG0zZERUT0tsOF91eHE2WHo4ZWRseWc&gid=4 but this shows that there are multiple sections for each character (ie Cloud is listed as aaaa.hrc-aaga.a, but is listed again as afie.hrc-agga.a).

So can anyone, possibly someone who has already created new field models, give me a listing of exactly which files are for which characters just to change the field/world map models? Obviously, I don't want a full listing for every character/enemy. Only the playable characters.

Thanks a lot to anyone who understands what I'm asking and can offer some help!

General Discussion / Re: Thoughts on FFX for psp vita

Vanille in XIII begs to differ with her annoying high pitched squeak in an Australian accent.

Haha, I'll give you that. But I think that had a lot to do with the writing.

Just wondering if you've made any more progress on this model? I recently started playing FF7 again with a lot of the newest mods out, and from what I've seen, this is by far the best looking Cloud model ever made. Not to bump the thread with a simple progress report request, but I'm really looking forward to this one. I loved the last one you did, and this one looks even better.

Also, out of curiosity, do you have any plans to do any other character models?

I'm hoping that this will be a full remake, including everything that was available in FFX International in the US version. I'm also hoping for them to redo the voice acting. Seeing as how FFX was their first attempt using real voices, it didn't come out the greatest (granted, a lot of it was really good, but it definitely could have been better). The voice acting has only gotten better since FFX, so I'm hoping they redo that.

It would be really disappointing if this was just a simple HD port, with them making the big announcement and making such a huge deal out of it. The one thing that gives me hope that it will be a full remake is the fact that it was announced as a 10th anniversary remake. I'm still waiting to hear more on it; I'm pretty excited about it.

Gameplay / Re: Scene Redux question
« on: 2011-12-18 16:23:41 »
DLPB,

first of all, I'd like to thank you and your collaborators for sharing your work with the community.  ;)

My question is: I have created my own mod (Scene Redux) some years ago which requires the overwriting of the files kernel.bin and scene.bin.

Does this mean that my mod and the Menu Overhaul Project won't be compatible? Or have I simply misunderstood your 22nd Sep. post?

Thanks!

I have a question about this patch. I have been using it, and while I like the increased success of stealing, it seems to have altered what a lot of enemies have to offer. For example, I'm on the cargo ship right now, trying to get the Shinra Beta armor from the Marines, and all I am getting is Eye Drops.

Is there a way to strictly increase the steal rate, without changing what is available to steal? I liked that in the original game, certain items were only attainable by stealing; I just didn't like that it sometimes takes 30 tries. Please let me know if this is possible, and maybe how you actually edited those files so I can do something similar. The only thing I want to do is increase the steal rate. Preferably, I would like everything else to stay the same.

Thanks!

I also have a one question. Is there any possibility of you making options with this patcher? I like a lot of what's in this Remix, but I don't want everything. Any plans for a way to choose which patches to install?

edit: oh yeah......IDIOT!! i forgot to mention my stuff xDDDD, its runing in Windows 7 ultimate 64 bits, core i7 950, GTX 460, 6GB of RAM

Make sure you're running the installer with admin privileges. That would be my best guess as to why you're getting that error.
