What about modability? I'm unfamiliar with SDL2 but ogre accepts a wide range of formats does it not? Would make it easier than trying to maintain an old undocumented format.

Not thay I'm promoting we convert anything to a new format, more like OpenMW where it accepts the old format as well as new formats.

OpenMW went the original data route, seems to make the most sense to me. They have support for other formats too, so that would fix issues with limitations of the old format would it not?

Even if they are it's far better than what we have currently, so i don't see the problem. for that matter it would take me faaaarrrr longer than 20 minutes to get anything close to that.

6
Misunderstood haha. I used a registry scanner to monitor the changes it made and than i exported the keys. hopefully it'll work. I'll need to manually install the dependencies, but hopefully this will work

7
I won't want to export the entire registry, Just the changes that were made by the program, It's far too risky to just merge all of Wow6432Node

Hey everyone, i am hoping you can help me out with a unique issue.

A client of mine had a bad patch from MS and had to do a reinstall, all was well until i tried installing his security software, at which point it detects the previous installation (which doesn't exist) and refuses to install.

So to work around this i want to install this software on a VM and capture the changes it makes, then either manually copying the files or repacking the installer to get it working on the other machine.

Reinstalling Windows would work, but would be extremely time consuming and i'd rather avoid it (took 5 hours to patch..)

9
An option to install all the movies and set the proper registry keys would be a nice touch, though i think that requires you to also switch discs.

As well as an option to install Aali's driver on run (with his permission of course)

10
I see what you did there ;)

Where in the pantheon of github is this new proj

https://github.com/paulsapps/7-Gears

There you go

I can't code to save my life, but i can test!

11
OpenMW recently switched to OpenSceneGraph: http://www.openscenegraph.org/

Since you're starting sorta from scratch it might be worth your while to look into?

12
Why drop the new font and graphics of the menu? They look so sharp! Did I miss something?

13
the chocobo patch isn't the dreaded "XP Patch" is it? could be i am way out of the scene these days, But i never had a need for the patch

14
An option to select Aali's driver vs using a registry key would be awesome.

I'm sure this is a tall order, But if you could use the config as a GUI to config the ini for the driver that would be amazing. I know it's not hard, But hey, while we are prettying everything up, may as well add it :P

Everything looks awesome, But i feel Monodrive seems to bright, if everyone agrees, would it be possible to dull it down a bit?

17
No need, i already have a FF6 Advance patched with music, the palette correction, and a few bug fixes.

Once this is released i'll try and patch the patched GBA game, who knows, maybe it will work

18
Would it be possible to port this over to the GBA version? that is the version i play as it has a bit of extra content.

If not... Know of any hacks that port over the extra content? haha

FF7Voice / Re: [In Development] FF7 Voiceover Project

If you need voices for useless NPC's shoot me a PM, i don't have time now, But down the road I'm sure i can commit a few lines here and there, Just for extra flair!

20
Would there be a way to keep the font and menu backgrounds in the cache based on file name?
I feel like, with as often as they are accessed. We'd want to ensure those files are always kept in RAM

21
enabling Large Address Aware on FF8_en.exe would allow you to access up to 4GB of RAM for a 32bit process. It would be an extra step for the users, But it could greatly reduce the amount of crashes.

http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php link to the patch if you wanted to have a look

22
Is this a still image, or an ingame (in engine?) rendering? Because live 3d field scenes would be amazing (actually scaling with my resolution!)

I wanna see this in the opening cutscene so bad. Even just as a partial render haha.

Are you also modeling the inside of the shinra building?

24
Sorry to revive this old thread.
I'm having issues with the Sweeper model, the one from the bombing mission isn't loading the model, And as i recall thats because there are two different sweeper models.

If that's so, what are the names of the files (or where i can find them) so i can rename the files and get this working.

I'll happily post an updated .rar once I'm finished

EDIT: Also the none iro seffect is missing

About to give this thing a whirl for the first time and i had a quick question.
Is this compatible with Reunion? I couldn't imagine that it's not. But better safe than sorry eh?
