I assume he has some difficulties adapting its C++ code to many different GPU driver revisions.
In this subforum anyone using 3D cards we usually have not around (Kyro II,Voodoo,PowerVR,Volari,Parhelia,Wildcat....)can post his problems.

FF VII on AmigaOS would need a rewrite of the engine different from Q-Gears.
Not impossible because most parts are documented but much code writing work to do.
Today some MP3 players could run the game if you replace the OS.

One of the guys at thelifestream.net found out that a different version of the unused Honeybee Inn room where you can see a TV is featured in the "Plate falling" FMV.

Its easier to export them to Blender or some other
3D renderer, look at the wiki to find all infos about formats and rotations.

At the time before PS2 the media called it PSX ,because it was called Play Station X at the stage when it was a SNES CD add-on sporting a 2x CDROM a DSP and RAM.

how would a complete FF7 style mod look in a N64 action game?

Blender 2.63 is to arrive soon.
Even if no exporter is available, interested modders can create funny videos using battle models.

if you write a simple FF VII MMORPG you should give the players a Avalanche/Cosmo Canyon guy
on a materia hunt not a FF VII character.
Just code a 2d prototype in php or java and  later switch to something in c using opengl and semi realistic physics for events like snowboarding or the gold saucer park.

Troubleshooting / Re: Running FFVII in WINE (Linux)

It could be that FF VII blocking bugs are already fixed in WINE.

You could get an MMORPG engine in C and rebuild the whole world as blender graphics and design it portable to older computers and phones, but thats a full-time job,not a mod.

« on: 2012-01-17 17:14:26 »
FF VII has a more cyberpunk like setting, while FF VI introduced steampunk machines like trains,Alexander.
With VI VII and VIII perhaps they tried a different way, perhaps they wanted to look professional and more for older gamers.
The management wanted to have full 3D on the PSX if not they could have made something looking like Chrono Trigger or Treasure of the Rudras.

We should pay for high res FMVs.

Better hack FF VI or Chrono Trigger.

73
But we cant use the 3 in 1 SoundFont for other files.

Someone did a improved FFVII MIDI + SF2 set for SBLive! back then
and after a few versions he merged the other instruments.
I can't use it for listening to game music on OS X
because some instruments sound wrong.

You need more than just an SDK and a lot of own code because FF VII is not a Quake like FPS.
