General Discussion / need older version of OpenGL driver
« on: 2016-01-31 16:29:01 »
High I need a link with an older version of Aali's custom OpenGL driver 0.7.11b.  I need it because the newest version NEVER worked for me without using the "FF7Config.exe" from the older versions along with it.  So really all I need is the modified "FF7Config.exe" that came with those older versions.  Alternatively, if anyone had issues with this problem before and found a fix that will help me as well.

28
the layering on that first screen just needs to be adjusted I might be able to get to it as for the second one that is unfortunately unfixable really since a portion of that scene is actually hidden in a 3d model file and it is beyond my skill to fix

29
that looks awful bro. try retroarch mednafen psx core and some ntsc and crt shaders if you want the original psx look

to be fair the black bar is there in the original psx version you probably just never noticed on the old crts

31
you can install windows 7 or 8 install the game then upgrade to windows 10 through there.  I still have my 7 install doing in that way so that should work for others too

dude nobody has enough information about your system or configuration to even begin to debug this issue for you, and you have already posted three times with absolutely no content to try and help.  Now you have worn out your welcome.

33
perhaps not but there are hand made high resolution renders made by the dedicated Team AVALANCE on this forum.  Perhaps feeding all of those images in at their high resolution would give it enough data to come up with a good profile

34
Looking on the waifu2x github page toward the bottom it gives you the syntax for training your own model.  Have considered doing it this way instead of using the default style.  Have you tried this at all yet?

35
seriously one good mirror is worth a thousand shit ones.  But seriously man I am really sorry I haven't been able to help much on this I have been way too busy lately.

Upgrading to 10 literally broke nothing for me and actually fixed quite a few things.

yeah i understand why your using that emu mednafen-psx with retroarch is a great psx emulator if you want accuracy.  Or the aforementioned if you want graphical hacks.

38
Yeah I can get that to you. I'm still in the middle of something now but I have some time tomorrow to collect the info and I'll post it up

39
You may want to borrow from omzys work if possible his later cutting work was the best that's been done so far at least in an automated script

40
It seems that they will use the UT4 engine.
source?

Troubleshooting / Re: Sound driver issue - Windows 10?
« on: 2015-08-05 15:49:39 »
This is how I use aali's 0.8.1b driver.  It doesn't work if I follow the installation instructions given by aali but if I install the ffconfig.exe from 0.7.11b plus all the files from 0.8.1b and set the graphics driver in ffconfig.exe to custom then it works no problems.  Haven't had any issue with sound whatsoever since on Win 10 however this is obviously dependent on a per driver basis.  I am using the on-board audio inside of Maximus VII Hero board with no trouble.

42
yeah the layers look a little blocky right now.  That's the hardest problem to solve if you can figure something novel that would be awesome good luck

43
Well good luck with that coming up with an algorithm that cuts smooth layers was kinda a pain but maybe you have more experience than I do.  If you dump everything from Palmer it should dump all scene layers just do a batch dump for everything.  If you have any samples id like to check them out

44
Yeah I used to know exactly what that meant I'll have to review my documentation to refresh my memory and I'll report back how are you doing this project with omzys script?

There doesn't really seem to be anything major to iron out this time in my opinion.  Don't forget this product has been in the hands of millions of "insiders" for about 12 months already so its a lot more polished then a totally virgin Windows would be; like previous editions.  Everything is butter smooth on my end.  Ran the new 3dMark API overhead bench on my system and am super pumped for some DX12 games after seeing the results.  I also ran several other benchmarks since installing 10 last night and they are all universally higher than before on 8.1.

Not a single crash, hang up or issue so far.  In fact I was even able to overclock my cpu about 5 steps higher than I was able to on 8.1 with absolutely no issue so far where as 8.1 would have crashed over and over at the settings I have been running all day now.  And I am in the heat of the summer where I am at right now so if anything it should be running even hotter then when I was testing the same configuration back during the Winter on 8.1.

If your running 8 or 8.1 I'd say don't wait; seems like 10 is more stable than either of those.  If your on 7 and your cool with that then I suppose you could wait but 10 is a lot more responsive and boots way faster and is all around just better than a severely outdated system like 7, but that's up to you.  I am usually a pretty huge Microsoft critic (prefer Linux but its just not practical for my workload) and I have been looking for something to hate or complain about all day but as much as I hate to say it they seem to have done a decent job this time around.  Probably because they actually tried listening to the users more this time.

46
common?  Maybe not, there are very few people who still have the original version of the PC game.  Most people have steam this is really only a problem for a few nerds like us lol

I was able to get Windows 10 installed moments ago.  The auto update seemed to be failing but you can down the iso manually via the new creation tool they put on their website moments after it turned midnight EST.  Here is the link http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

you can use that link to download the iso directly to your drive and as long as you are running a compatible OS (windows 7 or 8 ) it will autodetect and process the upgrade and give you a genuine copy of Windows 10 when done.  Just be sure to download the iso for the same version of the OS you have installed now.  For example if you have windows 8 Pro be sure to download the Windows 10 Pro as well or you will not end up with a genuine copy of Windows 10 at the end of the process.

Glad they made a way to perform the update manually I was itching to get windows 8.1 off my machine as fast as I possibly could!

Well in windows 8.1 there was a notification about it that showed up in my trey over a month ago and that's when I reserved it.  You may be able to do it manually from the website

Could give a shit about the design and I really wish I didn't have to use it but unfortunately windows is the only practicle solution for gaming so if anything I am pumped for dx12 and the improvements it will bring but other than that I really just long for a Linux box that is actually relevant in this society.  Maybe in another decade lol
