I'm a little confused with regard to the Must Install list. If Echo-S 7 is installed, I'm informed that I cannot use the 60/30 FPS Gameplay's recommended "Field Mode Fix" due to incompatibility with Echo. Moreover, Echo-S seems to include it own VA-friendly soundtrack feature that I assume would conflict with the recommended "Reunion - FF7 PSX OST" soundtrack mod. Should I simply opt for whatever I personally prioritize when it comes to these, or is there a way to make all of them work in concert?

I apologize if I'm overlooking something idiotic, but one of my promises to myself when I bought a new laptop was that I'd christen it with a run of souped-up OG FF7, and I want to make sure I'm doing things the right way.


You can use whatever music you want with Echo-s. Just turn off Echo-s' music. You can use 60fps mod with Echo-s, but you cannot use the field animation fixes with it. it's like 4 fields to fix minor animations, you're not missing anything.

Everything slows down for me a lot if I use advanced lighting while using a lot of other mods.

7th heaven requires .net framework 7.0 x32 and x64. Considering Windows 9x is 32bit, I don't think it can work... FFNx MIGHT work on its own on 9x, so you might be able to use a couple mods, but not most of them. purely graphic and audio, but even then, an old system like that would probably have a hard time rendering a lot of the upscales

Auto Run it's built-in FFNx, so if you using 7H simply go in C:\Games\Final Fantasy VII>FFNx.toml

Open up the FFNx.toml with notepad and set to "true" the Auto Run (line 387), save and close.

Enjoy.

FFNx's autorun only applies to analog controls when you fully press in a direction. It doesn't actually "auto-run" in the traditional sense.

Sorry, I missed the notification that I got a reply. My 7H and FFNx version are both up to date on the Stable side. As for the mod list, I have tried shuffling it all over the place, and I've even tried disabling literally everything except 60fps and it still crashes, as indicated by the image.

As regards nit-picking and the "Full 60fps mod", it's not my thing. I personally don't think there's anything nit-picky about wanting the battle animations to play at their original frame rate while the menus play out at their original frame rate. Granted, I'm not here to debate that and I'm rather here to figure out why a mod that used to work for years doesn't work anymore. Any help is appreciated.









That old animation mod just won't work with the new game driver.

I've been trying to get this mod working for a long time, and I've never been able to get past the movie intros without FFNx crashing. Even if it's the only active mod and no matter the version of the 7th Heaven launcher or FFNx, it crashes with no hints as to what's causing it. Any idea on what it could be?

How come this isn't compatible with Echo-S 7? It's not like the voice actors yell out Fire2 or anything. Are you looking into making it compatible some time in the future?

Surprisingly, you can't turn off the replacement sound effects in the sound effect replacement mod.

No. There are several technical reasons for why. Among which; it's impossible to use the stock engine for some sounds and the new engine for others. It's all one way or the other. Also few of the fields have a stock ambience, so if you did use the vanilla sounds, you'd have some fields with super high def ambience and some with crushed midi ambience. There are several areas in the game where doing this would be very awkward or be outright cringe. Secondly, I don't want a hodgepodge mod where you'd have real recordings of birds etc. and all the other battle sfx are staticy-midi... But most importantly, Cosmo Memory is a sfx replacement mod for the 724 vanilla sounds first and foremost. The other features like ambience, footsteps, etc. are just bells and whistles to go on top of them.

Trying to rename enemy attacks to match what we have in the kernel; fira, blizzard etc. but doing so seems to cause incorrect battle formations.

It's straight up impossible for Aerith to use Barret's grunt because she doesn't use a gun. you had to be hearing Cid's

This is not an issue, only a request if its posible: I´m playing New Threat 2.0 and everything is fine, but Aeris voice changed on disc2 for Barret, I asume that this mode is made for the original game. Could be posible an update for N.T.? And what about the phrases during battle ("I´m not interested"), could be posible to add them, too?

Are you talking about their battle grunts? You're hearing aerith shoot barret's gun and use his grunt?

Or are you talking about when Aerith uses Cid's weapon and she uses Cid's voice? If that's what you're talking about, yeah I'm aware. The sounds are tied to the weapons, not the characters. I have a way to fix it, I just haven't gotten around to it.

Is there a way to extract this to use the voiced attacks/grunts ONLY? Would love to try to that out to keep it closer to the Vanilla experience.

Use echo-s and turn the voice layer down.

You have to turn on the help menu. It's "select" I think.

Personally, 1,2 I might just go with pixel remasters for ease of access on modern systems and being remastered. 3,4 probably the 3d remakes for same reasons but they're 3d... 6 is the toss up between the original PC release for all the awesome mods for it, but I don't know how easy it is to get a hold of now and if not, then pixel remaster for it as well... 7,8,9 the obvious answer is PC modded.

It wouldn't be hard to make such a mod, but the problem comes with compatibility. Since you'd have to edit the flevel scripts, it would become incompatible with echo-s, controller addon, anything that touches the flevel, if you made it compatible with echo-s, then it wouldn't be compatible with the vanilla game, etc. Etc.... You'd basically have to make a version to work with every other mod that touches flevel... I'm not sure if those flags are in the same chunk as the actual game script though.

My game crashes whenever i change screen i.e. open item menu, encounter random battle, or enter another room. This never happened months ago before FFNx was introduced, but once i updated everything and ran my game, it was never able to open these screens except with New Threat turned off. can anyone help?? Multiple people have had this issue upon researching, but i could not find a solution

Yeah CM should be above Echo-s. Autosort should do this automatically. And there's nothing special you need to do. They're designed to work together out of the box.

If that's your load order as well, you need to hit the autosort button in 7h... Also I don't think remusic will work with new threat.

If dep is set correctly, then your FT issue likely comes from trying to use the expanded icon feature with non-english game.


Edit: Wait according to your mod list, you installed ff7 esui remake theme, not esui itself. You need to install esui enhanced stock UI, not remake theme... This will also cause your crash.

Also FT and remake theme cannot be used together
