FF7 translation... problemo numero UNO.

So I see all these dedicated sites to re-translating the older Final Fantasy games.

Well, I'm a professional writer with a strong interest in linguistics, so I figured, "Lets see if I can't translate my favorite, FF7." -- sort of a fun side project, I thought.

Well, I'm not too bright with computers - I'm decent with hardware, but when it comes to software, I'm dumber than bricks.

Needless to say, I was suprised when the playstation version didn't work in my PC.   :P  ; I remembered hearing about FF7 for the PC - Tried finding it in retail stores - no luck.

Tried buying it off a friend; he gypped me.

(grrr)

I can't really try this if I can't find a version of it for sale.  =\ -- Does anyone know some underground, secret square-enix rebel force that sells this freakin version of the game?  :o

Heh, I love the guy from Singapore with 91 copies...

I'd really hate to buy from an asian pirating group.  :(

Edit:

I'm rude.  Thanks for the help =)

Edit:

And thoughtless.

If I get any further in this idea of mine about retranslating, would anyone here be interested in seeing the final result?
