- No changes, re-release as .iro file to be able to update, seems like 7h Heaven still can't update (incrementally) folder type mods (.7z).

I can't get this to update with 7th Heaven, it dls the update and says it is installing, and "finishes" up but still showing Update Available, and still stuck at 5.020002

Outstanding work! I really like how the new colors and lighting make the scenes feel almost surreal yet still a perfect fit for the tone FF7 has.

Haha thank you @Tsetra ! means a lot to me. I took a few weeks off, was starting to get burned out with the mods. I will continue again in a few days, thanks again!

I think you should know that FFNx will soon be able to automatically adjust colors to approximate the brighter and more vibrant color gamut of the 1990s Japanese television sets that FF7 and FF8 were designed for. (Preview here (https://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=21407.0).) This will probably accomplish the same goals as your manual color corrections.

I wish I had known about your mod earlier. Since this might save you a lot of work, I feel badly for not telling you sooner.

Axl, these are absolutely amazing! I especially love how you added the expanded mountains to the beach scene, where there was just a flat side mountain texture before.

I have a couple questions. What did you use to fix the 3D meshes? I've been working on some new HD background textures for the desert battle scene, but even though I have the textures seamlessly repeating properly on their own, it doesn't actually line up correctly in game. I can see the problem in KimeraCS, just don't know how to fix it.

How did you get it to override the battle textures to only use two files? Example: STAGE05_T06_00 & STAGE05_T07_00

Hello and sorry about the late reply @Z0tikos and I completely missed this post in time, for faster replies you can just ping me on qhimm discord under FF7 > #axlrose-mods channel, I used KimeraCS by Lazaro, add the texture first, then inside the P editor select what texture to use.

Plus tons of the issues you are having I went through them with tons of help from Lazaro and others and is all in the chat history, with screenshots.

To fix the 3D meshes hmmm combination of KimeraCS and 3DS Max 2022, and to tell you the truth on the few scenes that I managed to line up correctly in game, I had to use my own version of the original textures that I upscaled myself, then on 3DS I aligned them correctly and re-rendered my new textures while modifying them in Photoshop and then exported again to .3DS then re-import back into KimeraCS, was a tedious job, only did for about 3 or 4 battle scenes this way, I still have to get to the rest and continue work on this mod, but I took a few months off to get some real life stuff done and take a break, I will continue with the rest once summer is over, but again you can find most of how I did it and figured out with help from others on that chat channel.

Having seen the new FFNx lighting feature, I don't think manual color corrections should be given up entirely. Neither method stands out as definitive to my eyes. There's an obvious argument for enjoying the game as the developers intended with the NTSC-J gamut, but the manual work alongside the default-colored models looks great as well.

Hey, I am getting some really weird shadows in the forest battle scene with the mod enabled. Shadows are block-like and cover half the field. Any idea what could be going on? Do I have a possible mod conflict?

Oh okay, my fault - I was using an outdated version of the driver. Updated to the latest version of the driver and everything is fine now!

Yeah, once I get back to the mod again during the Winter, I will check with the new color engine thing against what I did already and see where I can tweak colors or not, but yeah the idea is to end up replacing all the battle stages with newer models and at some point just replace all my color corrections :D

Stay tuned for the new update, Winter is coming ...
