I will see what I can do with that.

I release as WAV instead of as FLAC with no particular preference for either other than to remain consistent, so they will continue being released as .WAV.

I am not seeing MIDI files on that site, just a SoundFont.

L. Spiro

4
To be 1,000% clear, these are the actual samples from the PlayStation version?  And all the SoundFont parameters (pan, vibrato, fade times, etc.) are correct?
How does this compare to the SoundFonts used in the old PC version by Eidos?

How compatible are these with the PC SoundFont MIDI files?  Don’t the PC MIDI files have tracks missing and other alterations?  So shouldn’t I need a PlayStation rip of the MIDI as well, or are the PC versions good?

I believe I can do this for GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, etc., and do have plans to look into it.
To do any given game I will need a copy of the game in some form.  Ogre Battle 64 is not a game I have.

Fixed.
Do we have the original samples and MIDI files for the music on the PlayStation version of Final Fantasy VII?  If so I can do this same thing to the entire Final Fantasy VII OST as well.

As many know I have been working on creating modern high-quality versions of songs from many Nintendo 64 games. These are all the actual songs from the games (not from the CD or USF, nor are they remixes).
My goal here is to be completely faithful to the original songs, but to produce the highest-quality versions so we can enjoy them in very crisp and clear detail.

Here is the full set:

Perfect Dark coming soon.

I would like to do the same thing with Final Fantasy VII.  Has anyone made a "best and most accurate" set of samples, MIDI files, and bank data for Final Fantasy VII?  The original PC release had some problems in that department and I didn't see this exact thing in the audio section here.

Hoping to get GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark done soon.

L. Spiro

9
I do not, but I am interested in doing something with it.

10
At this point I don’t have enough access to those sounds.
But I have contacts.  We will see.

If I don’t go all-out then why bother?

Perfect Dark is coming up next.

In short, basically yes.

By the way, BrawlBRSTMs3 X has literally used my own songs (remixes):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-Cn46znP3A

Although I did not give explicit permission for this, I know the owner of that channel.
It’s likely he will be replacing his songs with mine.

I don’t think CheatEngine existed when I started MHS, but I don’t know that CheatEngine was inspired by my program.
At least in modern times it is very easy to say that many of its features were directly inspired by MHS, but DarkByte and I used to work together on considering the futures of where each of our programs would go.  I directly ripped some of his features for compatibility (mainly the auto-assembler), and later he did the same (anything real-time, such as the hex editor, plus being able to show infinite addresses in the search results instead of “Too Many Addresses to Display”, etc.), and we discussed a lot of ways to make our programs interchangeable via private messaging.
We are on pretty friendly terms.

I am coming out with a new version, but I temporarily had to stop production as I prepare to move across the world once again.

…Nintendo 64 music!  In CD quality.

These songs, which I have recorded carefully, sound very different from the other recordings you will hear.

Enjoy!

General Discussion / The Nightmare Begins + Others
« on: 2016-08-21 19:43:37 »
When I was around 18 I recorded an amateurish piano solo of The Nightmare Begins.

I’ve grown both in skill on piano and in recording.

I also played this live song from Neon Genesis Evangelion:

I had a digital metronome playing in my headphones while recording this one.

Other songs you might enjoy:

All songs are played live.

If you are a dev
You mean me?
I strongly advise you not to pursue the use of official Square Enix assets.  And although you can try, I find it unlikely any partnership will ever be made, although I can’t discuss one major reason for that.  One I can mention is that we only hire studios with a proven track record, and usually only ones with whom we have worked before, especially for any projects related to our main brands.

Cloud is my new main character.  He is super over-powered, so I am enjoying him before the inevitable nerf hammer.

Shinjuku (general shopping, iconic buildings), Harajuku (cosplay girls), Roppongi (drinking/partying/clubbing), and Akihabara (electronics/game shopping).
The Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Tower.  Lots of other buildings with views (just check Google), including the government building in Shinjuku.

General Discussion / Re: Square Enix Current Gen Lineup

Star Ocean 5 is not a Square Enix game, we only have exclusive publishing rights.
It was the last project on which I worked at tri-Ace.

I just hope we get to see the Honey Bee Inn massage scene in true HD.
And I hope to be a part of the project after Final Fantasy XV.

when I see 99999HP and numbers flashing about the screen faster than your brain can process the information, I think the following:

1. Lazy
2. Tired
3. Convoluted
4. Brainless
5. Verbose

The thing that springs to mind (and has, for me, since FF 12) is using graphics and flashy high damage numbers to hide the fact that there is little in the way of an intelligent, thought provoking battle system.  And I'll wager the story sucks too.

So for me... it's more of the same nonsense we've all come to expect.  When the reviews roll in I expect to see a huge number of people complaining that it was all flash and no substance.... yet again.

I don't play a game to watch an awesome summon that will soon get annoying to have to keep watching.  I play a game to use my brain and enjoy a good story (where applicable).
Sorry you feel that way.

Ick. Nothing personal, but I hate shadows in my games for this reason. I usually turn them off or at lowest possible detail.
It’s my job to deliver both quality and speed.  I am working on a major overhaul right now that should be able to meet such a demand.
As has been announced, we have no plans to target faster than 30 FPS, so disabling features will never give you better than that anyway.  As such, we will be filling that extra per-frame budget with quality.  And as I said we have a large list.  So there won’t be any performance issues in the final game, for either platform.

L. Spiro

23
Did you have a hand in that, Spiro?
Not at all.  My “thank you” was more as a representative of the company as a whole.

What other awesome stuff are you doing?
Graphics, mainly on optimizations.
Shadows suffered the most for this demo, as they are the most costly feature.

Very nicely done L.Spiro :)
Again, I am just thanking you on behalf of Square Enix.

I know the people who are working on these animations and effects, etc., and I know they would be glad to hear it.
