Re: Problem with Avalanche GUI mod
« on: 2012-01-14 20:23:48 »
Hi!

I installed the Avalanche GUI mod, it seems that the items as well as the font got replaced, but I still have the old avatar picture set. Any ideas?

In the starting menu I get the error message "Texture could not be compressed. See applog blabla...".

//Avatars are working now, had to rename some files and had to rename them back since I am using the German game version and got some very, very few different file names. The problem with the texture error message still persists.

I've moved this into the troubleshooting forum as its own thread.

OKi, thx!

The music issue seems to be fixed for me now.

But the problem with some very few textures and micro-lag-performance issues still persists.

Aali's Driver has an Option in its config file, you can set it to "no":

compress_textures = no

Maybe this can help.

OKi, it seems the issue has disappeared with changing that option.

Any tips for small (!) performance issues (micro-lags)?

Uh, my system specs:

Win XP SP 2

1 GB RAM
~2 GHz Single-Core processor
ATI Radeon 9550 (128 VRAM, IIRC)

Micro lags are appearing when animations are used like casting a spell, using Limit Breaks or sometimes even in menus when opening a new menu or scrolling through items.

It is like the game is "hanging" for about 0.25 to 0.5 seconds. It sucks just a little, but it is still very playable.

What do I have installed?
Official patch for the game
chocobo patch
letting the movies read from my HDD
Aali's custom driver
NPC Reconstruction Models
TA High Res
TA GUI mod
Ficemusic

However, if I recall correctly I recognized those microlags before I installed ficemusic, so it won't be the source of the problem most likely.

//Edit: While I checked this tutorial, I noted something:
http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=11452

My file in \field\ is called gflevel.lgp

As I have said before, I own the German version of the game. So....it be gflevel.lgp or just flevel.lgp?
