Gameplay / Re: Making playable bosses
« on: 2013-08-30 23:29:38 »
The thread mentioned here:

http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14507.0

is for the PSX version, so I guess it really doesn't help him out too much. However, the video is really cool and shows a lot. I'm really impressed he was able to have Sephiroth Morph into Safer as well.

Sounds like your flevel might be corrupt. Check out this topic here:

and:

Make sure to turn off UAC and run as an administrator as well. Also, Tifa's Bootleg has a huge troubleshooting page and FAQ that covers a lot of this stuff too. Seems like the solution is to reinstall the game in a non-system folder. I made mine in the OS under Games. So my path looks like this: C:/OS/Games/FF7. It's not in program files or anywhere else, I just created a new folder. Hope this helps!

In the app log, is the path correct to where you found it? My Camdat0.bin is in my ff7/data/battle folder. Where's your's located?

General Discussion / Re: Aeris vs Aerith.
« on: 2013-08-22 21:05:49 »

Basically... the main problem is that success=profit, and that, for most writers and film makers, trumps quality.  Instead of just ending a movie or franchise, they realise they can make uber millions with crappy additions.  I guess it isn't all their fault... I mean, people keep buying it so.

Hey DLPB,

You ever see Mr. Plinkett's reviews of the Star Wars Prequels?

http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/

He does the best job I've ever seen of explaining what's wrong with those films. I completely agree it's a monetary thing. There's this great documentary on the DVD/Blu-Ray version of Episode One about the making of it where everyone sits down and watches the cut of the film. The audience is so shocked by how terrible it is that they're speechless. Even Lucas admits there's too much going on before back pedaling and claiming it's the greatest thing ever.

This is where it begins:

BTW, really looking forward to see your translation get finished. While I'm partial to Aeris, I understand where you're coming from and it's ridiculous that anyone is giving you crap for it. While some of the mistranslations are pretty funny, it really pulls you out of the game when you see "Do, what now?" (reminds me of meatwad!!!). But, fanboys and fangirls are just that. It's like trying to convince a brick wall to grow wings and fly away. You can try, but you'll just end up feeling like you wasted your time.

Nice, did you produce the music?

6
@Vgr Haha, nice!

@jrbgarcia When you get to the world map after Shinra HQ you should be able to call him from the PHS. Just talk to Barrett about it for an explanation when you're hanging out after the bike sequence. As for your other questions, if they are serious and not trolling, sounds like your game has some errors. Are you using some mods? Bootleg? You have a problem that makes it seem like your game is corrupted so we'll need some specifics on your setup.

Troubleshooting / Re: Please Help, Battle Keeps Crashing

Thanks Kranmer for your response. I've got the battle.lgp.bak at 510MB and the new one at 280MB. I went back to the original and that seemed to fix it. I'll post again if anything comes up, but for now I think this is solved.

Just tried to enter a battle screen on the world map and it crashed again. Here's the new app log:

I just checked my data folder and I can't find any of these files...

Troubleshooting / Please Help, Battle Keeps Crashing

Hey all,

First, thank you all for putting this all together. I've been having a ton of fun playing FF7 up until this point. However, my battles have been crashing nonstop. On my save game I'm currently outside of Gongaga and have only encountered a problem when fighting Yuffie. Her battle sprite as "Mysterious Ninja" would lock up and would do nothing. I found the answer on this forum:

http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13993.0

But after following the directions, every time I start a new battle, my game crashes. I'm hoping to fix this without having to completely reinstall, but if that's my only option so be it. Here's the App log on the crash. Looks like stage79.d isn't loading.

Did using Kranmer's tool do this? I've had no problems running it up until this point.

Thanks again! Let me know if there's anything else I need to provide. Here's my PC specs as well:

Windows 7 64bit Service Pack 1
Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU @2.20 GHZ
6 GB RAM

  • Open the tool.
  • Select Unlgp battle.lgp.
  • Place the model files into the generated folder.
  • Open tool again.
  • Select Rebuild battle.lgp.

Hi! Thanks for posting this, but I think I may have done something wrong. I followed the instructions and now my game crashes every time I go into battle. Is there a way I can fix this?

Here's the APP log:

set music volume trans: 127->0, step=4
set music volume: 127
stop_sound

Thanks for having this site! You've all been extremely helpful!

Having the same problem. I'm worried I might have to reinstall everything. It started after I tried fixing the Yuffie battle glitch following this page:
http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13993.msg202101#msg202101

I'll keep looking through the forums and if I find anything I'll post back.
