The problem is with this one is that he is using the original lego models and therefore will not work once the graphic overhaul mods have been added.

*sigh* One thing we expect of new users here is that they read the rules. If you had, you'd know that you should've edited your post instead of double posting. It's not like you were bumping an old topic and needed to double-post to be seen, your posts were THREE MINUTES APART and it was still at the top of the list. ~Covarr

OK, EDIT: Why is everyone on here so patronising? If you look at my previous posts on other threads you will see that i have done what you have just said i should do. The sigh is unnecessary and stating that i haven't read the rules is wrong. It was one genuine slip up so please, do not presume so much.

OK, i'm not an idiot. I read it the first time, thank you for that peice of advice but i needed it known that i'm still looking just in case your contact can't help. But that is such a nifty little Klick me link, thank you soooo much for that. Oh and please don't get all insulted by my sarcasm, you were patronising and you know it.

Thanks pitbrat. i know that's an option but i can't get it to look right with 21 bones. i tried making the hair come directly off the head but then it just moves through his body on some animations. so basically if anyone can make sephiroth look just as good with 21 bones then hooray, but if they can't then i need some new sephiroth animations please. come on you budding graphic designers out there.  :D

I'm making a sephiroth patch that works after adding patches like prp to your FF7 game. Problem is is that the new sephiroth field model has 23 bones and therefore can't use any of clouds moves at all! I absolutely hate graphic and design and really don't want to make animations for sephiroth. If there is anyone out there that can make animations for a 23 bone model that are similiar to clouds main ones, like pushing elevator button and bringing hand back down again, bending down to pick something up and getting back up again? If there is anyone who can i do this i would be much appreciative and i'm sure the FF7 community would be as well. Thanks

It's stupid that i didn't realise that the flevel.lgp is the one that guides animations. I've only JUST figured that out so if anyone has some useful advice on how to alter things so that they're ok then please share.  :D

Ok so i'm making a patch to swap Cloud and Sephiroth after the bootleg modifications have been made to your game. The script has been written, i'm just having some animation problems. I have got Sephiroth looking alright when he is walking and running, but his arms and legs are all over the place when he is standing. obviously i presume that the first one of 3 animations in the first part of the lgp (aafe) is his standing animation but everything that i try in there just doesn't work. also since altering his walking and running the other npc's around have the same arm and leg problem. In example, the opening train scene, the guards are standing there looking weird then AVALANCHE get off the train looking weird, when they throw and kick everything looks fine beccause they're using different animations so that makes me think that all the npc's are using the first 3 animatons (aafe-abaa) as well as the playable character. Is this the case? Barret seems to be fine so i'm guessing he's using his own animation.

So my questions are:

1. How does FF7 look for animations in the .lgp file?
2. How can i change where it looks for them for each character?

I am so close to achieving this and i hope someone can help. Thanks to anyone that can.

The avatars are located in the MODS folder: ...\Final Fantasy VII\mods\Bootleg\menu\

Everytime i attempt to alter something in this folder the game stops looking for it there and reverts to a different mod. example: if i change clouds picture but keep the file name the same, it still looks for the avatar in the munu.lgp rather than the mods folder, so the others are transparent but that one isn't.

EDIT: Avatar problem solved, don't know why that didn't work in the first place.


The Sephiroth field model is included with the PRP models:

I need to know where the p files for sephiroth are, i don't know how to extract them from the prp installer. What lgp file are they being drawn from?

EDIT: Found everything that i need to find, just need to get sephys' limbs in the right places. I changed all the names of sephy files to be in clouds place but that doesn't seem to fit properly, this might be time consuming. :)

Obviously this isn't right so if anyone knows the best way of fixing this it would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I think that it's the animations isn't it, because sephy has more bones and can't use clouds animations. I'm trying to change them but it looks like i just end up corrupting files. obviously i'm trying to do it myself but if anyone knows something useful it'd be much appreciated.

I am working on the patch. I have a fully playable sephiroth, but once my ecitement of my accomplishment receded i noticed that the reason sephy didn't look right was because the skeleton was bigger and he still had lego graphics. i just thought that was the other model of him, ridiculous, i know. so what i really want is the npc sephiroth from the bootlegged ff7. i know i need to find the p files and replace each one, i just don't know where they are. i'm looking as i'm writing this but if you know where i can find them please let me know. thanks.

oh and the damn avatar! have you got a simple way of changing it, i think i'm missing something very simple because it really can't be that hard, surely?

Thanks, i have sorted it. It sounded more involved than it turned out to be. The only thing is the menu, clouds avatar and name are still up there. Also sephiroths mouth is a big white patch, is that a problem with the model that you advised to download? thanks for the good advice.

Thanks for replying. So doing all of this will show me the things that need to be changed on an already patched ff7? meaning the differences in the binary of the sephiroth and vanilla will be the same as the differences in the sephiroth and patched ff7? i won't just be re creating a patch for a vanilla game?

Please will someone guide me through this process. The scorpius patch won't work because it relies on replacing files that don't exist after bootleg has worked it's magic. I will do the work myself and replace the new sephiroth with the new cloud once everythings been changed, i just need to know where to start. please point me in the right direction.

Sephiroth is the greatest character and he deserves dedictaed fans! ;) I recently started the game with the scorpicus patch but couldn't bear to listen to Sephiroth whining like Cloud. So i decided to change things.  :evil: Yesterday i started editing the script and have gotten as far as getting Aeris home. I wouldn't say it's perfect coz it's the first time i've ever edited anything like this, so i'm just replacing the original script instead of adding whole new convos and scenes. It's hard to portray Sephiroth properly when he has to interact with so many people without being able to kill them but i am doin my best. hehe. if you'd like the field lgp file so that you can consider my ideas for your patch i would be delighted to send it to you. Oh and please can we get an update for the patch, i want it so bad!  ;)
