He's probably thinking of this. Its not being updated and the author hasn't been around for a while but I think it works if you're not too picky.

maybe I was thinking about FF7 but I do know there was a way to change the music midi format to "I believe it was MP3" so the game would sound better.

« on: 2010-08-19 17:58:45 »
OK sorry for the nubish question, I haven't been here in a year or 2. I been searching the search bar and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I am looking to mod FF8 for the PC I know there was some graphical and sound mods that make the game more enjoyable but bot I am interested in seeing what I missed. Can someone help point me in the right direction I am urging to play this again.

PS~ gotta great find yesterday, went to a garage sale and found FF7 PS1 for a dollar no scratches. I am set for life yo.

aight I got it I looked into nvidia settings and turned off AA that way and it worked. I got another problem now I see artifacting on some of the 3d. I am gunna try the hi res mod later also.

I dont really want to dig into the ff7 archive can you do me a favor? Send me your riviatuner.cfg file and ill use that also tell me what to do in rivia tuner to disable FSAA and such maybe we can fix whis without installing 500 apps also the second link has no download because its broken.

12
no im talking about I got the regestry

13
OK I got it

14
its still not working, heres what I have done up to this point. I have the 1.02 patch installed- and the rivatuner.cfg edited to their specifications, also I have 8bit disabled. Nothing works the lines are still there.

I am useing a monitor with 1600x1200 resolution so the no AA makes the game look like garbage for me.

I took some comparison screen shots BTW this may not seem noticeable right away but if you look at the comparisons you will see why I want to run in hardware mode ALSO in software mode everything, includeing the background seems alittle blurry and puts strain on my eyes. I hardware mode everything is much more crisp.

Heres software mode main screen to show how much the pictures look better in hrdware mode

hardware

and heres how much better the 3d looks in hardware mode also notice the background is less blurry in hardware mode.

hardware

PS~ theese images have been resized 2 times so they lost some quality.

16
Did what he said and it didn't work. I REALLY want to play this game with good graphics. V.V

Archive / Can someone help me run FF7 in hardware mode?
« on: 2009-01-26 05:28:52 »
I remember being able to do this on current hardware seeing as my PC does not support the 8bit palette feature im having problems running it in hardware mode. I selected the Nvidia option and Rivia 128 and the game looks absolutely fantastic except for this

http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee18/Troopermanaic/?action=view&current=dhdfhdshdzdz.jpg

there seems to be squares all over the place ALSO some text seems messed up. If I was able to find a way to fix those problems than the game would seem hi def to me and thats what I am trying to achieve.

PS~ I already have the 1.2 patch installed as well as the 1.4XP patch.

its google sketchup 6 I find it to be VERY easy to use over the past modeling programs in the past, I usually convert my 3d models I make in google sketchup to blender (there are plugins to directly do it) I noticed right away that my models I make are 10X better then before but I dont plan on makeing it my main modeling program in the future because I feel like in some way the program is helping me do it, so I feel alittle guilty when im done.

Hope you dont get mad but I HAD to make that model of my own, of that bustersword cause its bad a$$. Hope you dont take it as an insult rather as a honor  :-D

Heres the model I made based off of your model if you like it I could send it to you cause it really needs textures but just so you know everything on that model is 3d including the grey area on the swords surface, 160,000 polys total.
