That would be dumb

Not really. Bootleg could handle that just fine. It would just be more pain for PitBrat to do it :P And any users trying to manually install it. But overall I think it doesn't really matter.

Hey there,

Sorry to be a complete n00b but I'm having real difficulty making this game work.

List of problems:

- Movies don't play and instead show a red font error code
- At start-up I'm warned that Aali's OpenGL won't function and to expect serious lag
- Black screen instead of combat shown during start-up
- Custom beginning and game screen not showing

Please help me out, I'm an avid FF7 fan and have been since I was seven.
I just want to play this game to death with the modifications

PS

I used Bootleg Installer

domapples,
Post your app.log.

What version of FF7 are you using: the CD-ROM version or the 2012 Rerelease download version?

The 2012 version.

I assume the app.log is just in the games folder

domapples,

What video card is in your system?
You're using a generic video card driver.
You need to install an updated driver.

The video card is just too weak.
It can't handle any of the texture mods.
It won't even work with some of the models.
You'll have to disable all of the field, battle, world and magic texture mods.

Ok different .rars because of lack of speed which led to file error while uploading:

Is this the right place for bug reports?

I found a few in the installer, mainly help pop ups that are wrong (such as the new "animations fix" displays the "save point changer" pop up).
I haven't had much time to try more for now ;)

I suggest waiting for 040. These will probably be fixed.

Oh ok. I was just wondering, since Pit sends it only to people who PM him about it, or post here, and you obviously did neither (not because you didn't think, but because you couldn't). He will see it next time.

No problems, I just mailed him while searching how to pm  (and before getting that I couldn't pm ^^ ).

I was wondering if there was a special topic for bugs about the RC.
I'll post a proper bug report here later then.

There isn't a specific topic, but you could always join the chat through BFE (I made Pit implement that =) and leave the bug report there. Look at someone who is around.

Hi,

Before bying anything, i want to know if Bootleg works with FR version of FF7 (can be bought at this address : http://www.square-enix-boutique.com/telechargement-final-fantasy-vii.html)

If i want to play FF7 with "all" HD interfaces, skins etc, bootleg allow me to do this, or i have to download some others addon (and add it with bootleg, if i have understood) ? I don't want to have tools to make my characters godlike, just all game in HD :)

Thanks !

Bootleg will convert the French version to the English version.
Then you can use all of the mods.
There's a way to  reinsert the French text into the converted English game, but it's not complete.
Some scenes and FMV's will still have English text.

Yes, if you use the Bootleg French translation, the game will have mostly French text with the exception of the battle menus and a couple of the FMV's.
Some mods are only available in English: Aeris Revival, Hardcore and Menu Overhaul ReTranslation.

Just put your FF Folder at the source of your disk.

Like this C:\FF7  and C:\MODS
