Got a gtx 570 i7 16gb ram, windows 7 64-bit Sager Laptop.
I can get tifaa bootleg working just fine, been using Full preset, and at first using default settings it worked fine until the game just went black and said ff7.exe has stopped working. Ill switch the config around and it'll work fine again, changing resolution etc..then ill go another hour into the game and same thing will happen, black tearing and screen goes black. I have a desktop comp with actually better comp specs and with the same preset and settings runs just fine. Anyone know a problem to help solve this laptop issue?
Any help is really appreciated

Make sure that the game is actually using the GTX570 card instead of the Intel GPU.
Run FF7Config.exe as administrator and select the correct graphics card.

You can check the App.log to determine which video card the game is using.

card the game is using? I looked at my APP log and it said intel intel hd graphics. ill post my app log below, i ran ff7config as admin and I didnt see an option to change Intel to 570? I tried changing "custom driver" to the other options and also selected NVIDIA check box, but I noticed very bizarre graphics when loading ff7 again so im assuming theres something im not doing right, Heres my APP

Run FF7Config.exe as administrator.
Select the GRAPHICS tab.
Under the DISPLAY dropdown list, select the correct graphics card.

RENDERER should be CUSTOM DRIVER.

You were right from the get-go. It was my graphics card, I guess my laptop has the intel default settings on, EQ2Alyza helped me as well, I just had to change FF7.exe to run with high performance graphics card Nvidia. Reinstalled the game after changing the settings to my "Actual" graphics card and it worked perfect. Thanks for your help. Anyone else with this problem, from my understanding, i guess laptops can have integrated graphics card ( crappy then the good one ) and its automatically set-up to run from the default graphics unless you change it. Go into your graphics settings and "add" the file/app ("FF7.exe" in my case) to run as the improved performance processor. Worked like a charm for me,
I thank PitBrat and EQ2Alyza for their support and help through all of this. :)
