I guess we're letting the oversized avatar policy slide now. It's a decent avatar, a little big, but the whole oversized avatar policy now seems like it was just a bicycle built for two. At least it's not a picture of a sex offender...unless..  :P

Since this thing seems like it's a movie (or by dvd they meant ps2 game), I hope it won't bomb like spirits within. Maybe it's a cinematical representation of the game  :D

Well I still find his avatar disturbingly large, and I've messaged him about it... I wanted to give him the chance to voluntarily reduce its size, but if it stays like this... *chop*

It can't possibly take place after the game. The Makou gun is still attached to that port town!

Junon...yeah, it does lose the gun in ff7. But, I think that in the picture is cloud standing next to the ruined Midgar, with the sister ray still hooked up to it. It seems that the midgar tower is tipped over. But still, I don't remember Midgar being that close to the water. Being that close to the water you'd think it's Junon, but it doesn't really seem like it  :-?

Of course, I don't think we can really get a clear picture of what this is supposed to be until a real press release. I don't think we're entitled to trust the word of these "little birds" that get tidbits of information...perhaps incorrectly.

That Midgar looks very much like Midgar - 500 years later, as seen in the after-credits movie with Nanaki and his cubs. Sinking onto the ocean, tower trashed, all that. *nods*

sheesh die to popular (or unpopular) demand ive changed my new avatar to a smaller size, man it looked nice that size :(
and i never changed my original cloud avatar (from the same artist BTW) since the beginning of this new fourm
BTW that seaside town has something sticking out, but its neither midgar nor is it junon, as either town has an uppper plateau and a lower level as well, here we only see one mismatch on the coast front

What's wrong with a short flashback?

Seems genuine, it portraits Cloud fighting someone, with One Winged Angel sounding in the background... You need DivX5 to see it, though.

I'm guessing that's the same (11.5MB LQ) cam I just got off Suprnova (that links dead).

Looks kinda cool. If it's Sephiroth, I don't like his hair, it looked better with the little spikes at the front. The video's appears to be set in the destroyed Midgar, dunno about that tower at the beginning though.

Not sure if this image is in any of the links posted, but it's pretty cool.

I 'heard' it's gonna be set two years after FFVII, and that it's being released straight to DVD due to The Spirits Within's lack of support.
Also, it's out sometime next year. Let's hope it's true.

You know what I reallized from the above article?  I think Square may be releasing a remake of FFVII with current graphics.  Just think about it, they are releasing a movie with characters that don't look exactly the way they were in the game.    A lot of people have been wanting to have the master piece that FFVII is into a game that takes advantage of today's graphics, and make it more extended with things they may have missed in the previous game (since it was rushed (and NO, I hope they don't make an Aeris revival quest, yuck :x )).

This would sell probably as much as the first one, if only they would let the story line intact.  However, if this was to happen, then they should release it before this movie comes out.  Who knows, maybe they've really been working on it secretely.

Edit:  Plus, there are new people that play FF games and haven't played FFVII.

True, Square are money minded, but their policy is if it worked dont touch it.
FF7 was a success no matter what ever anyone said, it revolutionised the RPG industry and the FF series altogether, and maybe be lacking a plot compared to older FFs and interaction of the characters as in newer FFs, but it has the right blend that has you chasing jenova and sephiroth time and time again.
They have said remaking the game would be too easy
And making a simple movie would be abit empty.
So expect it to be bundled with something? like FF11 international, KH2 or something (i think FF12 is too far off).

Since this is 2 years after the game, Shin-Ra doesn't exist anymore.  Therefore all reactors may be in that state.  So it can be anywhere.

Wahey, a new trailer! This one's a cam too.

Don't be fooled by it's intro, it starts with FF7's ending scene, before going into the film. I've only previewed it (still downloading) so no review here.

Here's the torrent.
FFVII - AC Trailer (43.5MB)

I'd upload it somewhere for you guys, but I haven't got any webspace available at the moment. If you have an account your willing to let me upload to, PM me.

Edit: Just watched it. There's a part where Cloud is on the beach, and he looks so much like a blend between Tidus and Auron.
Also, there's a
Spoiler: show
return to Aeris' church... please don't resurrect her!
