Team Avalanche / Re: New Project: Bombing Mission!

Unfortunately i also agree...
I was thinking about it a bit more and it might be a bit more complex then just optimizing models and textures.
Also there should be taking in account what kind of camera options there should be in case of RT-3D-FFVII....3rdperson,1stperson or fixed, or all options.
for large scenes....well background data streaming etc. etc.

For now, as i already try to optimize the models as much as possible (to lower render times) it might be not that difficult to change, however as pointed out before the texturing in my case is not really optimized for games, just for rendering.

so let's stick to 2d-backgrounds and 3d battlefields. :-D

In a perfect world I would imagine a camera angle similar to that of FFX or, more ideally, like that of Devil May Cry, in my eyes at least. Although I can't even imagine the complexity of scripting such a system, poor Akari, best of luck to him.

In the mean time lets get busy

Please feel free to join the fun! as I stated before it is a huge challange....(and there is more then enough to model from midgar.... ::))
If you want to try it in Max i can give you some pointers....if you like.

I am working with Maya. Yes there is a whole city to model... I may start working on md8_0 (the scene immediately after the bombing mission)

Yup, some field backgrounds and battle backgrounds. What are you more interested in?

If there's any field backgrounds left I'd like to make a start at one.

I'm 19... but I don't look like it.  Especially when I shave.  I kind of look like I'm 15 when I do shave.  BABY FACE FTW!

Same here!

Once I've taken a shave, then I go to clubs or try getting served from a shop it is soo annoying to get ID'd

I don't know how someone in their right mind could use a service like that... you're paying like £5 a minute to talk to someone and you have no idea what they look like. You're better off buying a naughty magazine.

I don't understand how you can 'date' on the internet exactly. You have to be in physical form to date. I've met and had romance with girls on the internet, and made good friends. My two best friends on the internet, Anais and Serge, I've known for years and they both live in Toronto, Canada and I met them separately, and then *i* introduced them together which was a bit strange if you think about it, considering I live in England. They didn't hit it off though. I swear I will go to see them both one day though.

Anyways, 'Dating' sites are for desperate people as are people that use facebook for the same purpose. There's a lot of sad people out there, I guess.

Releases / Final Fantasy VII Aeris patch, born again
« on: 2010-06-05 14:15:57 »
back in the day there was some epic rumours, like having to level up revive materia to a level 4 with buster sword to get the 'ressurect spell', and having to use a *tissue* in a non-existant scene in aeris house where cloud has an emotional breakdown in mourning her, going to see aeris ghost in the church, etc etc. i even remember button bashing like a freak for a week straight at her death scene cause some C**t spread a rumour about reviving her

I think a whole side-quest that equates to a good amount of playtime would do the girl justice, she's been dead for nearly 15 years :P although i think that you should not be able to revive her until at least half-way through disk 2

of course, low-level stuff like adding dialouge is the first thing to do.

Disobedience breeds anarchy.

Hey, what you got against anarchists? :P

I think a 'release' area would be good, then we could get rid of 'programming feedback' and a lot of good stuff is scattered all over the place.

And maybe a FAQ area could be beneficial.

Just ideas

Could you be more specific with what you are trying to do exactly. Are you wanting to model monsters, characters, battle environments, field backgrounds?
