Releases / Re: [FF7PC-98/Steam] New Threat Mod (v1.5)
« on: 2020-07-27 22:31:42 »
looks like the crash is caused by enhanced stock ui mod.   the enhanced stock in it specifically the main menu option must be turned off   it seems to crash on me when its on.  unfortunately this means the ff7 remake theme ui mod cannot be run either since it requires the enhanced stock to turn on :(  silver lining is all the other options within that particular enhanced stock ui mod seem to work fine so... yay?   hopefullyh thats got all the completely irrelevent crashes resolved.  now to just make this doodie controller work.  anyone have anyh iders on that btw <-<?  any third party or second partyh or first party o.o mods that can make this ps4 controller do well anything?  i have it plugged in and getting light, just no response from the game x.x

Silver lining. xbox one controller seems to work fine.  Ah well I can deal I guess. Okay. I think kinks unrelated to new threat are actually worked out for the most part.  Now time for real test drive :D. We only play on hard here xD

i've isolated it i think to one of the enhanced user interface mods.  i'm not sure which part of which one is causing it since one requires the other to be acitve x.x....   gone go through and change options in both and try on/off until i find the exact option on thats causing it.  i'd rather not lose the enhanced user interface unless i have to..

If anyone else has the issues, it appears the Running animation redone IRO is what is causing the crash, now anyone know how to make this ps4 controller work with this? lol... :D  (thank god it wasnt anything else, different running animation i can live without)

yuck, same crash happened after first battle x.x...

same crash log,  z.z.z.z...z....zzz....  everything up until looked nice though :D  here we go again!  seems like it happened as soon as cloud finished waving his sword.  i shoulda went to first save like ya suggested lol ah well time to isolate the problem child.   side note, still failing at trying to get ps4 controller to be compatible z.z

wait what tweet O.o... i'm crashing upon hitting new game though <-<   side note i installed a bunch of iros all at once and new computer since last install and first time hitting new game, so probably gone some mod compatibility problems.  it generated a crash log but not sure how to open it.  just looks like a bunch of symbols when opened in notepad x.x

also controller doesn't work but probably due to my lack of investing time into setting it up z.z...  gone have to turn all mods off and just turn one on at a time until i figure the problem aren't i? x.x...

alright! turned all mods off and the begging video after hitting new game worked! yay!  now to go through one at a time until i find the problem child x.x... side note,  still have no idea how to make hte ps4 controller work on it x.x...

vewrified new threat working without issue when run by itself, also verified i saw options for hard mode and arrange everything looks like patch loaded without trouble.

I planned to force myself to stay on game A with hard mode until I beat it once that way I still have game B hard mode to look forward to :D lol....  I'm sure it will be worth the extra wait for it and I get twice the amount of time to enjoy it that way :D

so... with the 1.5 final patch (i guess final?) being released, i haven't played since 1.4.   I've been waiting on the 2.0 patch, but i'm not sure if that is multiple months away or less than a month.  Would it be worthwhile to wait on 2.0?  or would recommend to go ahead with a fresh start on the 1.5 final?   If it's looking like it's more than a month out, i'm going to go ahead and start with the new 1.5 release :D.  Any idea if it's going to be less than a month for 2.0 or definitely more than a month?  :)

In this particular case, I used the MO because I only had menu overhaul + 9999 break activated in my latest attempt.   But the combination doesn't appear to matter as it will still crash no matter which parts of the mod I use,   even if i just check 9999 and run it as ff7.exe it will crash as well.   Or if i check the beacause and menu overhaul and run with ff7_bc it will still crash at startup.   Apologies, i might not have made clear in first post lol...

I've been attempting to fix it for some time,  it has always crashed since i downloaded it a year ago whenever i enable any part of this particular mod upon start-up.   regardless of which .exe i use (making sure to use the matching one of-course).   Yesterday, I just happened to try to download a new game converter thinking maybe an updated one and ran it with override.   Same issue exists :(, but here is the log.  Of course I've only downloaded the game converter from the same tutorial file you uploaded.   popped up as gameconverter(1) when i downloaded yesterday lol....

The Reunion - Beacause and Menu Overhaul

Hey guys,  I've been trying to work on getting the The Reunion - Beacause and Menu Overhaul  mod to work for some time, specifically for the ability to break the 9999 damage limit,  I've removed all other mods in an attempt to make it work.  I've made sure to use the corresponding exe files (mo/bc) in my attempts to no results.   It appears that I can activate the because and menu overhaul, but if i put a check into any of the options,  all of them will fail to work.  I re downloaded a new game converter file today in an attempt as well,  but no luck.

IE makes the beep noise at the beginning (as does always) then gives crash message.  Only happens with this mod active,  advice anyone?  It seems someone else posted a similar message, but with no response :(

I'm experiencing this problem,  Found a simliar topic, but it didn't have a resolution in it.  Basically, I enter midgar, parachute scene happens after fighting diamond.  Then you see cath sith run somewhere,  but there is no cloud.  Able to access menus, attempted to move in circles, no results...  Any ideas..?  Or anyone found a resolution around this problem?  using new threat 1.4 as gameplay & all regular mods are active besides the baceause & menu reunion one (it just won't work regardless of what I try to do <_<...)

(ps, unrelated, but anyone know of a mod that breaks the 9,999 damage limit?  I think B&M mod only breaks hp anyways <_<

EQ2Alyza You are amazing.   Deleted everything related to the current amd catalyst, followed the link,  gave issues trying to download the original file you presented in the solution, but a link was on the page to find the updated drivers based upon your computers specs,  I clicked that one, rolled with it, loaded the game and it... actually launched O_o....    The irony is that It launched fine from the Launcher prior, but appearantly requires different drivers to launch without using the normal ff7 launcher O_o... Alliteration >,,>?

I think only minor issues I've come across are 60fps battle glitching out the game in startup along with bacause & menu overhaul causing it to glitch out as well during game start up.   (doesn't matter which exe is used, all cause a crash upon start up).  May do more research on prior problems/resolutions with it later,  just enjoying the game right now :D  (also, new threat is amazing)

Yes I've taken that into consideration as well..  Steam makes it difficult to install ff7 into a different folder, but finally managed to get it outside of the steam base.  Now I have it on the D drive.  D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII   specially.

During the reinstallation I cleaned the registry,  followed everything from scratch, deleted all old content (7th heaven included) and ran the mod file to unpatch all old data.   I cleared everything related to ff7 from the system.

reinstalled on the d drive, ran the mod file, set it to the new location of the library on D.  It went through without issues, set the configuration (sound n midi test)   finished the mod file,  ran 7th heaven,  lined up the settings with the new d drive (midi/video/exe files)   downloaded music mod, video upgrade mod, & new threat gameplay mod.  Activated one/all.    Hit Launch game & got the same results (which at this point were soul crushing btw >_>....)  Starts up, shows squaresoft, ednos interactive, chocobos running around the logo, then goes to a pitch black screen with a random small red rectangular box near the center of the screen.  At this point, nothing else responds.

Ironically since I moved it to the D drive,   running the ff7.exe without 7th heaven by itself seems to have the same results (on C drive it just skipped everything and went to new game option screen)

Running ff7 through the normal launcher appears to load everything fine & routine (although i've noticed the distinct lack of music in the background while playing the regular game)

any ideas anyone?  I've tried about everything I can think of with compatibility changes to 8 or 9 different reinstallations with different approaches.  I feel that something small is missing, but I've run out of ideas...

Steam 2013 version i believe.
normal steam launcher launches game without a problem.   (via loading steam first them game from actual steam window)

7th heaven "Launch" after putting in any mod will cause game to load, show square enix, show ednos interactive,  then show a small red box in the middle...ish of the screen and rest will remain black.  Nothing else happens.  All attempts to push buttons (side alt ctrl & del) do nothing.

Non 7th heaven "Launch" but just normal loading up ff7.exe results in the same error.  It appears only way to get it to run properly is from the in steam launcher.  Please advise, been working on this for almost an hour now with different tests but same results.

***Edit****

Shows squaresoft/chocobos running around, then music starts to play.   as soon as i hit a button on the keyboard it goes to a red box in the middle then pitch black everywhere else.   also, music stops playing at same time.   a mix of squares black  & red on screen while music plays.

**Edit**

ok that's weird.. somehow mods/editor/thing got installed to wrong folder... operator error...?   (deleted the one not working entirely n steam version launcher still seems to load up without issues -.-...)

**Edit again**

thought I resolved the problem by realigning/redoing some stuff, turns out nothing changed >.>....  still red box -__-

Appears that ff7 normal launch without the launcher just (ff7.exe) is working fine, but it skips the intro videos (just goes to new/contine)

7th heaven "Launch" still does the same however...  (squaresoft, chocobos, to red box with black screen & stays there)

Also seems 7th is pulling the mod library from C:\Games\Final Fantasy VII\7th Heaven  while the game library is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\ff7.exe   I'm not sure if this matters or not though...
