The converter is merely to make the steam or square enix store version of the game the same as the 1998 cd version, to make it more compatible with the mods released on this site.
I explained this to him in another thread he made, but apparently he must not have read it.

77
I would help you as I did in your other thread, but I don't use it either.

In order to change mods, you need:
1. Uninstall
2. Delete install folder
3. Delete registry entries
4. Reinstall

No, the converter isn't for translating, it's mostly for making the 2012 or Steam version moddable.

Shaders have little to no visual impact ATM. As for difficulty, I recommend this.

Install somewhere besides Steam or system folders.

I've been around for a while (no offence to previous answer) and I can say with 99% certainty:
1. You can play with PSX OST, custom tracks, or my preference, remastered versions with real synthesized instruments such as Final FanTim's Remastered OST.
2. It has native support built in before modding.
3. Bootleg is 100% stable, you should have no problems unless you have Intel HD graphics (no physical card).
4. Loading times are completely negligible.
5. You can re-Bootleg at any time as long as you fresh install, to keep your saves just move them then move them back when you're done.

83
I trust that you've done it before, but there is a 99.99% chance it is a result of your integrated graphics.

I have 320.78 and PCSX2 stops working on launch.

Oops, yes, Raps.

Yes, Barrett is tasked with taking care of Marlene after believing Dyne to be dead.

Yes, a game's difficulty should not be dependent on your level or how much you grind. You should have some involvement past clicking Attack Enemy A 50,000 times.

I don't know about story wise, that's a really hard decision, but overall, FF9 is my favorite. There are no nostalgia shades over my eyes because I didn't play any FF's until I was about 18. FF9 has very distinct, but also dynamic characters. Dagger is the most obvious example. It also had the best music of any Final Fantasy in my opinion, which greatly enhanced the gravity and seriousness of some of the events in the game. (i.e. Burmecia, Freya's love story, Vivi's existence). The combat was also very straight forward, but varied and challenging as well. Each character had a clearly defined role, but there are a lot of combinations between characters and battle interaction. I also absolutely love the equipment/ability system and think it paces your ability to become overpowered and also encourages varied play and layouts (i.e. changing abilities to fit the situation).

What if the circumstances were different and he lost all his income because some shitty dev didn't want people to know he made a shitty game? That gets me fired up.

I believe so, because Tactics is great. But Pokémon, whether or not you like the source material, has many more variables, things that could go wrong, possible actions, incredibly varied team makeup(not all 600+ are usable if you want to have a chance), hard and risky decisions in the middle of battle, and most of all, the planning. Another large point for Pokémon is that it is against human players. While Tactics has some of those things, you just really can't understand until you go here or here and try serious competitive battling for yourself. As a side note, a common practice among serious competitors is to auto-generate your Pokémon because you can get the exact one you want and it's not illegal. I believe in raising and chain-breeding your own Pokémon because it's more fun and challenging.

Good job regardless  :-P

So much discussion before changing anything, I love it. Great quality control.

My friend bought a windows 7 disc and ran bootcamp and it worked great, no performance issues or anything.

You were never able to control Tifa's limit break IIRC.

I feel like Mother 3 would hold up to Chrono Trigger if it was released outside of Japan and more people knew about it. Not that it's obscure, but a lot of people never took the time to play it because they had to patch the translation, emulate it, etc.

Please watch this video. Watch it all the way to the end and share it with everyone. This is not a game review, you'll see when you watch it.

EDIT: Also, why did it make three separate threads? I definitely didn't do that.

I disagree with Rundas. There was so much build up to that scene that you knew what was going to happen.

The end of Tales of the Abyss really got me fired up when Luke ran toward Van while Tear starts singing. It just felt like all the events of the game were finally coming to their conclusion and that everything that happened was all for him succeeding.
Perhaps you figured out it was Claus, but you didn't know he would intentionally shoot the franklin badge. I've never heard of Tales of the Abyss, what platform?
