for some reason my comp keeps restarting on the world map only when i use custom graphics driver than only the game crashes if i use any other driver and software driver the game wont at all load exsecpt in the beginning after jessie kicks the gaurd the game crashes with software driver so yeah idk what im doing wrong the only mods i have is 102 patch alli's custom driver (the ver. on the bootleg mods list) and apz cloud in the direct mods folder (yes i know how to use it somewhat) the mods work exsecpt the part where my pc restarts it self when i am on the world map with the cam looking forward but when the cam is looking down at cloud its fine but when cam behind its another story. thank you for all the hard work youve done on the bootleg mod project but i am just gonna have to stick with manual installs for all the mods i might like.

PS. i dont know if it has something to do with my ram or specs but its worked fine in the past with no errors but now its all crash here crash there so yeah i might as well stick with the psx emulation and gs codes and pc mem conversion and stuff but ill be checking up on this from time to time. see ya till after computer school and stuff.

What version of Bootleg are you running?

39. As far as i know, 40 isnt up for download yet.

EDIT: I think the error is partially due to the fact that FFMusic is broken on Windows 8, reinstalling without it (sadly  :'( )  and seeing if that fixes things.

I have Bootleg .040 pretty much ready for release.
Everything seems to work for whatever that's worth.
In order to stick with  the release schedule (before the end of the world) I had to cut two features: individually customizable music tracks and field weapon that matches the battle weapon.
Maybe those features will stake make it into a future release.

Do any of the testers have any final complaints before this 6!+(# drops?

Release!

Although I'm "new"  (lurking for ages)  I'm also begging you to release - would be a perfect Christmas gift - and Christmas is 24th of December over here >.<

Although I'm really looking forward to this release, if the ugpl tool bug isn't fixed yet or if the workaround isn't implanted, I won't be able to enjoy a fully modded FF7 since all the models will stay the same for me, so I guess I shall wait a bit more to see how the situation evolves.
It looks really good though, thanks for the hard work!

^ Just use Aalis LPG>ULGP Tool and if using it with command line confuses you just use it with a GUI LGP Frontend or make your own .bats...or if you just want to quickly check out models place models in the direct folder.

Hey PitBrat was just wondering if you can help me on my current situation. I got 2012 US FF7 version windows 7, 64bit, gtx 670, i7 Sager laptop.
I have installed tifas bootleg many times but always seem to get random errors, but after having heard that I needed to change my Integrated graohics settings to my actualy gtx 670 card. I added ff7.exe to run as High Nvidia performance processor ( gtx 670 ). Reinstalled the game and went through tifas bootleg process all fresh and over again and once bootleg was done running and bootloader pops up, I try going into ff7config.exe to enable the graphics tab and I get the message saying "FF7config.exe has stopped working". The game will still load up fine and it works, except for I notice extreme tearing in the game ( not black tearing, but transparent tearing. ) Although its still playable I still think something is wrong. I made it into Kalm town and started leveling up and finally got a black screen followed by "ff7.exe" has stopped working. I was told by someone it may be a hardware issue. Heres my APP log.

The tearing may be related to vsync.
Try enabling vsync in the Bootloader configuration and/or in your video card settings.

I've always had vsyn checked in bootloader.  changed my vsync in nvidia settings from "Use the 3d application setting" to "On" and also turned on trip buffering. Same tearing issue.

It's because you have your machine graphics in the Nvidia control panel set to use high performance all the time so FF7_Config has a spaz out when it goes to read the Intel and it gets swtiched. Go in to the Nvidia control panel and put it on auto-select and make sure you haven't told the FF7_config to run under high performance by default

Tried to point this out before, but I'm not sure your issue is related to this. I had tearing issues in all my applications til I found the highlighted box for transparency, which was unchecked. After I checked transparency on my vsync started working for everything, including basic applications like my browser.

Well holy crap I found the issue!!! Changed Nvidia settings in Global- to Auto-select for preferred graphics processor. Tried opening ff7config.exe and opened right up. Clicked graphics tab to enable and closed out, loaded up ff7 and noticed I had the same tearing issue. Tried a few diff options for vsync etc etc.. still same tearing (( I describe this tearing as a transparent line the runs horizontally- up and down from the screen as I move around in-game. )) But i went into Nvidia settings under Program settings and changed ff.exe from Nvidia High-performance processor to "Global settings - Integrated." Applied changed, opened ff7 from bootloader and bam the tearing was all gone. I will say when i hit "Play FF7" from bootloader, the screen went black like it normally does, but it didn't automatically boot up ff7, I had to hit "ENTER' on my keyboard ( Laptop ) to initiate. Then Edios logo etc popped right up. So from trial and error I learned , global settings selected to Auto-select will allow me to open ff7config.exe, With FF7.exe under program settings selected to High-performance processor will auto-load FF7 but will be tearing ( which lead me to a ff7.exe crash earlier ) BUT if I changed ff7.exe back to Integrated graphics, The game won't auto-load, ( pressing enter it will ), and no tearing what so ever.
If this helps anyone else, try the above. I will see how the game plays out from here and see if I notice any errors. Merry Christmas!

Well I think I hit the jackpot on my issue. Im using Integrated graphics, High HDR settings from bootloader EXCEPT "PostProcessing" After unchecking that option, the game booted right up automatically and no tearing. I have a good feeling this is the end of the hassel. I suppose everyone has their own issues with their own CPU's but in this instance for a laptop I think I hit the money. If anyone else has a laptop and is experiencing any similar issues try what I said and have learned from others. Thanks all for your help and support !

Hi Jreeds26

I you do not want to spoil the mood, but the game now uses the Intel graphics.
Quote
INFO: Intel Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 3.3.0 - Build 8.15.10.2712
Moreover, does it not postprocessing.
Quote
ERROR: init_postprocessing failed, postprocessing will be disabled
But if the game works, then that's ok.

Well I spoke too soon. lol. Loaded a prev save file, played like 15 mins in and got to first Jenova fight and it started lagging a lot. finally during a spell the game just froze, music was still playing. Then of course FF7.exe has stopped working. Ill attached my r,ecent APP log. Note: seems to be a glitch.

Probably yes.

If you installed the "Team Avalanche high res" mod than many (all?) Spell effects are now with HD graphics.
I'm not sure if the Intel chip can handle that.

Jreeds, try changing ff7.exe back to High-Performance and adding FF7Config.exe as a profile with Intel Graphics chosen. Let us know what that does for the FF7Config.exe crashing you get. I don't suspect it'll work, but it's worth a shot. You won't be capable of running the game on Intel Graphics with the Full Preset installed.

Set Global settings from nvidia to High processor, changed ff7.exe back to high processor, added ff7config.exe to integreated graphics. ff7config opened up, but i loaded ff7 and still had the tearing. Only way im not getting the tearing issue is by using my integrated graphics. weird. and i am running full preset on integreated graphics, just gets kinda laggy when i use summons and/or boss fiights thus far. Hmmmm

I'm about to get back into this again, but I'll wait for release 40 before I play again.
