Hello.
I've done most of FF7 graphic upscaled with waifu and redone the game twice to find and correct bugs.

Excellent! This was basically the last mod I was waiting for outside of DLBP's finalized translation to buy FF7 again!
I might have missed something though, but do you need to be a premium member of uplea to download your game fields since it is over 2.5gb?

the only two links that do not require registering for download are the World Map and Combat Fields. Could you consider using a Google account or finding better providers? A torrent might also be alright...

yours has has Felix's fonts and materia icons integrated with the old style you can't exactly just copy and paste just get to work

I won't apdapt the menu to eng version of the game because the font spacing (and some char width, height ...) as been redone 100% to be adapted to the neo-midgard french retransation with special char etc, it won't adapt out of box to the eng version.
Feel free to adapt it but don't use the font, you'll get bug with them in the eng version of the game

Also a side question, my laptop appears not to support opengl 2.0,so im using 0711b aalis. Its probably my old laptop('s gpu), cant make field world and magic textures to work neither through 7H nor bootleg. So i searched and found this thread. Maybe this will work...

I got them to work, the ff7 7thheaven converter places a mod folder into your ff7 main directory. I just placed the field model folder included here "Char" "field" into the mod/textures directory. Before I was just putting them into the mod folder which is why they didn't work. So basically extract all these files into the mod/textures folder as they are, if they are already in folders of their own then that's how it is, the spell effects aren't and so I think that is how they are supposed to be as well.

It bloody worked! I just did like you and had to set textures mod in ff7 opengl cfg file to Textures instead of none after copying 0711b over 081b and the strawberries work! Aaaaaaaahhhhh! Now if i could just get that Beacause from reunion to work, id be a happy ffer, even wo MO...

Not that anything is changed, game is the same alls beautiful, just to ask what does npot mean, what textures are those? In case i com upon some missing further in the game, can i replace them w some others?

I'm not far in but the only ones ive noticed are in the sector 5 reactor area, if you turn on the help cursor the green arrows that indicate ladders are blurry/blank textures, seems Satsuki forgot/missed those or something.

Btw are these better or Omzy's FF7 Field Pack ones? though it only has field in it, but i dont see any difference again, i posted screens in previous folder link also. if not, to delete that useless stuff off my pc. :-) Im staring at the pics comparing them, it - seems - that omzys are just a microscopic fraction sharper, or maybe im just halucinating from all the screen staring at 5am ;-) Something im sure i wont ever notice in gameplay. And comapring folder sizes, waifus is usualy larger and i tend to identify larger w better quality...? Last q and im done.

Some of the Filters and and Shaders work with the aali driver, yet some only works with the steam version.
I suspect you could change the hook to work with aali, or change aali's driver to work with .h filters
Haven't tried my self, since I'm no coder.
Only a little knowledge in cvars.
Go to reshade.me and download the Reshade framework, bunch of filters and shaders.
Use mediator.exe to change setting via sliders instead of text (quicker for me)
You can also make profiles.

Wanted to play FF7, after many years of not being on Qhimm, quite a bit to bite through.
But it seems to be easier than it was before. I think it's the installers that does it :P

Can someone please explain how I get these mods to work. I don't have a mod folder and I have read elsewhere that I have to downgrade my steam version of FF7? Is that the case with these mods? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

We should never called it a downgrade from begin with. But yes you downgrade the executable to the original release version, but every other fixes will still remain. Graphicwise it will be an improvement over the steam version and you get this fine modfolder with the new opengl driver.

I have a question about this. I have downloaded waifu and tried it on some backgrounds. But it seems to look better then on the pictures in this thread. Why is it, is it the game that changes the quality? I get this result -

You simply used noise filtering lv 2 instead of lv1, i used lv 1 because lv2 remove to much details and blur more.
For the single packs in mediafire i'll do it as soon as possible but my internet connexion is not realy stable now and i can't realy upload big files.

Grimmy, I need your help.
Along with your HQ condor background, I tried a MOD condor.lgp to play Condor minigame.
I forgot where I got MOD condor.lgp cause it was long time ago and had not time to try it until today.
Maybe Tifa's bootleg ? I am not sure.
With the MOD and your HQ background, I felt that fighters are coarserough comparing to monsters in this lgp and HQ back.

You can convert the Steam version, since the old PC port is pretty much the most supported version for mods.

Which scenes were optimized? It's better to post a separate download for them, rather than having to redo a 4GB+ download.

There was lots of optimised field, i haven't listed all of them and as the old archive was down, i've made up a new full archive.

If you have the field pack 1 and 2 from 7th heaven already, any point on downloading the 4gb file in the original post? In 7th heaven Part 1 is 6/7gb, part 2 is around 3gb. whats the difference between the 4gb on original post and the two downloads in 7th heaven? I already have the 3gb download from the program, the 6/7gb download kept failing so I'm going to try to manually download it.

The satsuki textures are 3.3GB because of the IRO compression, but once they are downloaded, 7H will unpack them to the same size that's here. The last update for them in 7H was 12/26/2016, so it includes the latest version from here.
I guess the naming of Part 1 and Part 2 sounds like you need both, but you don't. If your download is freezing, then try not to download more than one mod at a time. There's nothing I can do about it. Google Drive and MEGA are the download hosts and are horrible when it comes to throttling and halting a huge amount of downloads at once. About the only thing left I could do is just separate each of the three options into their own download and label them Field Textures - Omzy, Field Textures - yarLrson, Field Textures - satsuki.

I appreciate the quick response. Loving the 2nd field pack so its good to know i dont need the first one. Makes sense why part one is double the size, it has two versions in it.

Witch compressor use IRO ?
I use 7-z LZMA solid archive with 128kb dic to have the smallest possible size but your compression is about 25% smaller.
are you doing some sort of color reduction or it is pure compression ?

I don't know what compressor it uses. Iros made the 7th Heaven tool, so you can try asking him, but he's disappeared for awhile now.
EDIT: I have loaded a game with your mod folder imported into 7H, and compared it to an IRO imported into 7H and there is no visual quality loss that I can notice. Now that I thought about it, I forgot...When I use the pack/unpack tool in 7H, we can choose different options for packing. With any texture mod, I always choose "No compression" so that they keep their truest quality. What happens with the 25% smaller size, I'm still not sure :|

It can be visualy loseless but transcoded too (I think about it because solid LZMA is the best compressor i know so far)
The only way to be 100% sure that the files aren't modified is to do a checksum (md5, sha-1....) of the original files then of the extracted files.
If the checksum is bad then the files have been altered.

Satsuki is it possible to do Waifu Upscale on ff8 backgrounds? Project Eden is much better than vanilla, but I don't think it's perfect.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. It's a .bat file? Do you know the filename of it?

It was pitbrat who made it and it removes all upscaled light effect textures. And yes it was a bat file.

I love the idea of using this modification but I'd hate to see graphical issues/bugs, which would really break immersion.
Hopefully satsuki is going to fix this first problem soon! :)

Thanks for this mod, you did what Square Enix should have done when they released their "HD version" on Steam.
My only request would be if you may divide the archive to several parts, and host it on another site than mediafire : Google Drive, or Microsoft one aren't restrained by speed limit.

Hi, sorry if it might be a long time since, but could you take a look at the condor textures? Using them with Reunion seems to glitch out some of the textures. Finger is not displayed correctly, as well as the progress bar to the left, and the green icons with transparency which is nonexistent when in game. Also, since reunion only displays PSX buttons, would be nice to replace them those keyboard icons instead just to keep the PSX ones on the screen all the time. I don't if they even switch, though. I've seen PSX buttons on the textures, but in game it's only showing keys. Anyways, would be great to fix those for the english ver.

Not pack related, it's driver related, as long as you filter condor background you'll have glitch

What do you mean filter? So if i use the textures without condor backgrounds (the ones present in the folder?, the UI will be displayed correctly then? How to fix it then?

in order to fix it, delete the file from the confor background, that's the only way

Oh, i guess it's a give and take situation, but the i think the background itself hold much better than those UI elements, so i think i'll be fine with that.
So, just to clarify, i need to delete the background that is provided with the minigame pack in "condor" folder, not the overall "field" folder one. yes?

Hmm, i've deleted: map0_00, map1_00, map2_00, map3_00, map4_00, map5_00, map6_00, map7_00 and mes02_00 from the "condor" folder but the UI is still glitched for some reason, just like before, so still no changes. Those files mention above were the ones for the background, maybe i need to delete something else?
I also don't know if mes02_00 is important, but i've just tested it with and without deleting, and the results are still the same.
Edit: Maybe it has to do something with the way Reunion R06 works with the textures, or default textures present in the pack itself may be conflicting?
