Looks like I may have spoken too soon on that "everything is running perfectly" thing.  :)  I am hoping this is a very simple fix, however, as everything HAS been running absolutely beautifully up until now.  I'm on disc two, and I need to climb the great glacier.  I get up the glacier, and into the cave.  As soon as the game has to load a fight scene in the cave, however, I get a crash error message.  I've tried a couple things to fix it, which I barely managed to undo, so I figured I'd best ask the experts and give up on trying to do it myself.  :)

I'm on Windows Vista.  Below is a copy of the app.log:

Erana,
The crash is due to the broken Grimmy's AC Yuffie model.
Don't install Grimmy's AC Yuffie nor Grimmy's AC Tifa models.
You may need to start with a fresh FF7 installation and run Bootleg again.

eternallies01,
You need to configure the sound driver.
In the FF7 game folder:
    Run .\ff7config.exe as administrator.
    Go to the SOUND tab.
Set the Sound Driver to your sound card.
    Save and exit.

Thank you so much for the fast response, it's much appreciated.   So far kicking Yuffie from the party seems to have done the trick - will see if I can squeak by without using her until I finish my first play-through, then re-install.  Even if I can't, I'm glad it's a simple fix either way.  Thanks again.  :)

I'm trying to locate slayernext's "dirty" buster sword along with Mike's Ultima Weapon sword (like they are displayed in bootleg0039 in Cloud's swords) but I want to keep the other Millenia's swords... Is there a way? Thanks!

PitBrat, the Config already reads my sound card. The OpenGL thing isnt giving me an issue anymore but its still just randomly crashing before the EIDOS screen even appears.
I just uninstlled and reinstalled and still giving the same problems.
APP.log still says sound initialized at the end before crashing. Could that be a problem with FF7 Music for some random reason?
Because I tested the game clean and itll run.

Leonhart7413,
Because of the way textures are assigned, some combinations of weapons don't work.
Even the selection of Cloud model-- Grimmy's AC Cloud-- prevents certain weapons from working.

eternallies01,
It's not likely a problem with FF7Music.  The FMV's don't use FF7Music.
The registry entry to assign the sound card is probably damaged.
FF7Config.exe is the best way to correct the registry.

the remix is listed as the single exe, 4 parts, and 13 parts. if your settings require the remix installer all 3 of these will show as red (meaning you need it but dont have it). when you download one that one will turn green (you have it) and the other 2 will turn yellow(you dont need or have it)  as far as links go have you tried the big list of mods http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=12503.msg173799#msg173799

Im sure this has come up before but I finally got everything downloaded and ran bootleg. The game looks great but one minor issue with the menus, I get this: http://i.imgur.com/4HYgw.jpg with the in battle status bars. Any easy fixes? I used the Full preset.

Find what you need here: The Big List of Final Fantasy VII Mods

After 0039 was released, many of the mods hosted by Mediafire died. They have new links found in the list above. I'm sure PitBrat will update the Bootleg links for 0040.

I will take out yuffie and no use she all the game, and reinstall the game without the mods for the obligatory scenes. But if i can do something...

Yuri Hyuga,
You have to reinstall FF7 before running Bootleg again.
Do a fresh, maximum install of FF7 to a non-system folder.
Then run Bootleg again without selecting Grimmy's AC Yuffie and AC Tifa.

I've fixed these models in 040.
I'm just waiting for Luksy to update the Ulgp utility.

.040 WORKING
Code: [Select]
    Added ComplexMultiShader: ComplexMultiShader.zip
    Added Omzy's FacePalmer Fixes: FixedLightingTextures PART1.rar, FixedLightingTextures PART2.rar, FixedMissing Files.rar, FixedSpecialCases.rar

Added Zendar's Blue Counter Numbers Texture: 2itfspt.png
    Restored Missing Materia Animations

Mmmmm.  New version soon.  Schmexy.  ^-^

Oops, manners.  Forgot the formalities...

*Waves hello*  First time poster, though I've lurked on and off for a long time, and been playing FF games since way back when the NES was all bright and shiny and we didn't (yet) need to wedge another cartridge above FF 1 to keep it working.  Feel free to call me Toni if you find Antonia a little cumbersome.

Anyhoo... I Decided for this time around FF VII I wanted to toy around with some new options and not really knowing where to start, this little gem has really helped.  So first, let me say thank you for all your work on this.  I can't imagine how I could possibly get such a wide selection of great mods working together with so many options to choose from without Bootleg.  ...At least not before next month or so and about a thousand clean installs anyway.   ;D

(Incidentally, for the record I've run 039 probably half a dozen times or so now while tinkering with various options and am happy to report no issues or bugs I can spot that haven't already been reported and addressed.  Kudos!)

Now, with all that out of the way, let me ask what I'm sure is a silly n00b question, but it keeps nagging at me and I figure better to just know for sure than blow something up.  ;)

Being that you haven't supported UMI, and the fact that Bootleg itself already has a ton of options for various model replacements, is it safe to assume then that Bootleg already does anything UMI would do?  Or rather, does UMI offer any additional models, choices, or enhancements that Bootleg does not already include, and if so, can I simply drop a UMI install over the top of Bootleg, or...?

Basically, while I'm not exactly new to modding, and far from new to FF, this is the first time I've tried merging the two and I'm trying to maximize my choices for alternate models so I can see which ones I really like (or don't), all the while trying desperately not to break anything.  :)

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Toni, nice to meet you and welcome aboard  :)

UMI options are embedded into Bootleg, so you don't need to use the standalone installer. It is never recommended to install a standalone mod after installing Bootleg because it has tendencies to break things.

I remeber when i used UMI on top of Bootleg time ago and it worked without nothing breaking etc, it still has the same models but in UMI you just got a little bit more variety/options plus if you want to change models without reinstalling Bootleg again you can easily do so with UMI :)

Thankee.  ^_^

That seemed to make the most sense, given all the stuff Bootleg already does regarding models and the fact that PitBrat is at least partly responsible for both projects, but the big mod list or docs didn't list the UMI as "included", or if it did, then I need my eyes checked, which is always a distinct possibility.  XD

Anyways, thanks very much.  Now all I gotta do is actually decide on just which options I want on and off and everything will be groovy.  :)

Hmm.. Interesting.  Maybe this deserves a bit more investigation.  There's a couple things that for one reason or another just nag at me..  For example, while the new Jessie model I get looks great (I believe it's a redone PRP), for some reason I just can't quite get used to her without her "black lipstick".  Just... feels wrong, somehow.  LOL

Anyways, thanks for the head's up.  Maybe I should just do a couple side-by-side installs and use some file/folder comparison tools to see just what's what.  Then (assuming I can ever actually make up my mind as to which stuff I actually do and don't want), it should be pretty simple to add/remove as needed.  At least as far as models and textures go anyways...

No investigation needed. Just open up UMI and see that every option found in it can also be found in Bootleg. I'll let PitBrat confirm, but to my knowledge you're already installing UMI through Bootleg. It's embedded within Bootleg.exe.

If I already installed a ton of mods (it was 3 hours to make it Done and 2 trys) and want to add two more mods, then I have to start the whole process again, or i have to remove from the Bootleg folder every other mod file and Than do the process, or the Bootleg.exe skips the mods whick are already installed?

It's always best to start with a fresh, maximum installation of FF7.
Bootleg cannot uninstall or make significant changes to mods like Menu Overhaul, Hardcore, Aeris Revival and Lost Wing.
If you only change models and keep all other settings the same, then it's okay to rerun Bootleg.

If you are already past the point in which she died the aeris revival patch will not work except for the few scenes. You'll have to start a new game to get the full effects of the patch
