i got annoying but it loaded the first tie i played now since my pc restarted i click play in the launcher the launcher disseapers for about a min and then comes back but the game doesnt load can someone help

ok i have followed the tutorial which is a good one i might add the only one i couldn't do was the comparability for ff7.exe cause every time i fired up by pressing the run ff7 button on ff7 music it just kept minimizing to the desktop took it off and it ran ok.
at the time i was testing i wasn't using the open gl driver which now i am same issue about muting the midi and the errors that come up in ff7 music but the main thing is its working now i can live with muting the midi and the errors as its working thanks for the help tho its been most appreciated.
i found it in the regestry in the end so if your running windows 7 x64 and can not find look in the section HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node

no im using my original disks as i had to delete my backup iso's for space a while ago, not its not there i only need my registry so i coud copy the movies over to the hard drive thats all -i might have a buggy install of windows ill double check everything on it tommow ,

sleeptime=10"ff 7 music still erroring but works in game but not muting the midi so i switched over to creative midi so i could mute it with my sound card settings for info im running windows 7 x64 home premium my specs are amd x2 5050e, nvidia gforce 210 graphics a sound blaster x-fi titanium sound card and 4 gig of ram if that helps

nope it didnt plus i can not find final fantasy seven in the registry and ive tried uninstalling ff7 and reinstalling nothing
i reinstalled ff7 to c:\ff7 rather then default location ff music still errors but keeps it settings i be testing to see if it works in game but still no ff7 in the registry so at mo can not copy the movie files over to the hard drive hopefully someone can help me cause i think thats also why open gl driver doesn't work in full screen either.

ok i found another way for encoding them and its pretty fast to i used leawo free avi converter from http://www.leawo.com/ i just added in all the videos into it converted to them into Xvid and after about 15 to 20 mins it had finished put them back into the movies folder and ran the game it played the video's hope this helps the reason why i had to find another way cause my true motion codec kept failing so windows movie maker could not read the files. but anyway great guide Xelah hope this can go with it.

Hi i pulled out my ff8 disks out yesturday and decided to play it again but im running windows vista x64 and it kept saying insert disk one in the drive even tho it is, so I checked reg edit and no entry for final fantasy 8 was there so could someone send me a reg file so i add it in so I can play my game again thx in advance if anyone can help.

Well his patch works it seems 2 of the crewmen have been converted so one of them could have the bug I think I can get used to these models but every time u stand next to a normal char you small compared to them and its kinda funny cid missing a bit of his leg check the link where i put the other screenshots
If I use the reunion patch without the npc patch it doesnt crash on the bridge of the highwind so it might be bug with one of the rendernd pilots.

Ill try his patch but i do like the normal size ruther then the sd ones but the crash seems to be everytime you enter the highwind bridge cause I bypass the first crash by useing the original char file, but then it happend again when you get the highwind. Ill tell you if it works or not.

Right im have too probs im useing negemu forums so I can load the pics of the probs so if anybody on ngemu forums can help me aswell i would be very gratefull.
the first one is when useing the high res patch i get the glitch where the numbers for dial in the mansion do not appear I also found this the case going up gia cliff with the degrees.
the second one is useing reuninons battle to feild conversion and the npc replacement project v0.4 where you ur in the northen creater and cload looks up and says tht and then it spose to go inside the highwind (airship) and you get rufus and the others talking but it doesnt do that it just crashes the game, prehaps its just too many modified chars on screen at once for the game to handle. first picture is the dial glitch and the second picture is just to show where i ment the crash is (if i use the modified char file it doesnt load).

I pulled out my old computer with my voodoo 3 in it today to try out the demo and it blow me away they look so good. I think what eidos should have done when they releasaed the game was have an option for 3dfx and direct 3d cause glide made the game look good and hardly no slip ups.
