Well, can I know why my FF7 cannot run in window mode even after download and apply the ff7w? I'm using window XP and after I apply the ff7w thingy, it just go black and return to my desktop.

Riva TNT or 1.02 patch...what ever you wanna call it.
Will not work with an ATI card
At least not until they Disable the 8 bit pallet in their drivers.

Rule of thumb...if the Test for the 8bit pallet says Pass, the TNT patch is not going to work. You'll get a black screen, if you install it and check the Nvidia option. The Test needs to say FAIL.

FF7 works fine on my ATI 9800pro as long as I check the TNT box in the 1.02 config.

I have a 9800XT and everything works fine for me.  Maybe its the display driver, or the FSAA or AF settings in the display properties.  I created a specific profile for FF7 and all is well.

...and does the test say Fail before you check it? I specificly said that it won't work unless it says Fail.

The reason why I said ATI won't work is because, there is no 3rd party software to help you disable it. Nvidia has Rivatuner. ATI....I haven't heard of any program for it. So your solely dependent on what ATI does to their Driver. With Nvidia, you have a better chance at getting it working from driver to driver.

The Riva TNT patch is really an 8bit pallet bypass patch. Really has nothing to do with Nvidia's chipset video cards.

Now, you should understand where I'm coming from.

It put's "----" after you select the Nvidia options...
It's just for show. Eyecandy to a small extent
"----" is just omitting the value of the test.

What does it say when you have the Nvidia options unchecked? I don't keep up with drivers... I don't even know if the latest Nvidia driver says Pass, now. Still haven't gotten around to loading it.

But...if Nivida's ever does go back to Pass. There is a small chance that the guy that programs Rivaturner, will have a way to turn it back off. ATI doesn't have such a guy, that I know of anyway. If you can find such a program...then it won't matter with ATI, either. But I haven't heard of any program for ATI, as of yet.

You know...you could do your ATI friends a favior and list what Driver version your using. Instead of trying to prove me wrong.

In addition I suggest you to read carefuly first post in this topic.

Isn't baal translated to lord? so your nickname would be lordlord? ;)
