I personally just want the end game sephiroth to not die from 2-3 omni slashes and 1 knight of round :P

Archive / Mods to FF7 that I were curious if they exist.
« on: 2008-03-03 01:29:49 »
I have not found these couple mods so I just thought I would ask.

1.  The ability to run ff7 in a full screen window.  So I can mouse out of it to another monitor I have.

2.  Allow end game mobs such as sephiorth to scale better with my damage/health ( I will be using the mod that let me have over 10k health ect) I don't want sephiroth to be a push over I want it to be a challenge :)

Ok it works now.  Here is what I had to do.

In this order

1. Install Game.
2. Install Compatibility agent from Microsoft.
3. Download K-LIte Codec and disable all other codec for now.
4. Download truemotion.
5. Restart PC
6. End Explorer and restart it (for some reason it always goes to black screen after a fresh in stall)
7. Install Laptop Patch
8. Install Official Patch
9. Install Chocobo Patch
10. Go to FF Congfig and set up to Nvidia TNT setting even if you are ATI
11. Right click on the FF7.EXE and change to Windows 98.

Start Game and It will work.  This is on Windows 64 Bit home premium.

Hope this helps anyone else it was a pain to get it to work.

Ok I got home and downloaded that. I have the compatibility mode now.

I have:

Installed patch 1.02.
Installed the only codec I could find, which was Truemotion.
Installed Chocobo Patch.
Installed High res Patch
Installed laptop patch ( so I don't have to use number pad)

I've done ALL of this on my wife's lap top with windows 32 bit vista and it works great.  Mine doesn't.

To the above posters, what else can I do?

In other news, I did get it to work with out a hitch on my wife's lap top.  She runs 32 bit vista.  There was zero issues.  :-D  Compatibility mode was an option which for some reason is not with VISTA 64.  At least with my current version.  :?   To the poster above me what steps and patches did you take/download to insure a working game.  This was one of the 1st games I played on the ps1 and have never had this much fun with a game since chrono trigger/FF3 usa version.

For me FF7 runs in Vista Ultimate x64.
Its even better than under XP because in XP theres the Black Textures Problem with GeForce 8800.
Have you installed the truemotion codec? (ff7betap.exe)

Yes that codex is the one I installed.    What else should I look for :(.

I've seen many threads how to make it compatible but they all seem to be for 32 bit systems. I can get to the New Game or Continue screen after I select something it just goes black.

I have downloaded the following:

1.02 Patch: Makes FF7 play nice with your modern ATI or nVidia card and drivers. (2.27 MB) Readme

From the website that directed me here but still nothing is working.  :(
