Congrats on your betrothal.

I just saw this version of this music video (I'd only ever seen a different arcade version).

It looks like someone else was trapped in the cabin, as well!

I do still have all my lines from the FTP from our original attempt. I'll hold on to them indefinitely.

If you ever try to tackle this again, you're welcome to my recordings.

I don't currently have time to help with anything new. But should the next attempt take place in more than 5 years from now, I will (hopefully) be done with my studies and be earning enough money to have much more free time in my life. I'd then be happy to help with whatever roles you had need of.

Well then your fiance will be thrilled to hear they're renovating it!

Here's the official statement I just got a few weeks ago in their newsletter:

ANNOUNCING: A 30TH-ANNIVERSARY MIRACLE
(NO FOOLING)

We're about to do something no one has ever done before — we're taking a beloved animated movie and completely renovating it.

Not remastering, mind you, but renovating: going through The Last Unicorn from end to end and top to bottom, spending five million dollars to upgrade the special visual effects and soundtrack, smooth out and improve character animation, finish background paintings that were never completed, and add five to eight minutes of entirely new shots and sequences that will bring the story to a whole new level.
And when the work is done, this wonderful new 30th Anniversary Version will be given a worldwide theatrical release in both 2D and 3D.

This is not a joke. This is not an if, or a maybe. Multiple funding sources have already offered to finance the project, and as soon as contracts are settled everything will ramp up and get under way.

The Last Unicorn was a childhood favorite of mine.
I was just rewatching it, and saw something in the opening that I'd never noticed before!

Now, this image is based on a tapestry series called The Hunt of the Unicorn.

But the tapestry does not have the tail in the movie...  I'd been assuming it was a hyena, but they don't have tails like that either.

I never saw anything about Nanaki's species being from folklore. Anyone know differently?

I heard about his Much Ado About Nothing.

That has to be a comedy! I will happily watch that what it comes out  ;D

Amy, Fran, I'm surprised Nathan Fillion isn't in it.

Timu, it'll depend on if it's serious or comedic to decide if it's a remake of Evil Dead or Dead by Dawn.

While ED was lame enough to warrant a spoof of itself - it actually presented interesting ideas. It seemed to break all the horror movie cliches:

- The first person to be attacked is the only girl who wasn't getting nookie that weekend. (Usually they’re the ones alive at the end.)
- Rather than running further into the house and cornering herself (a common error), she runs outside, only to find that the evil is everywhere, not just inside the house. (Especially in the trees – unless that was 2, I can’t remember).
- The second to last person to be attacked is the person responsible for unleashing the evil / and also the most annoying person in the group. (Usually they’re one of the first to go.)
- The evil doesn’t stop with sunrise. (Ash leaves the cabin, thinking it’s over when the sun comes up, only to be attacked.)
- The hero dies / no one survives.

A remake of Evil Dead? Really?

The Cabin in the Woods

It looks like Sam Raimi has nothing to do with it.
While I like Joss Whedon, I'm not too sure about this idea...

What I'd honestly rather see is a true sequel to Army of Darkness. What happened to Ash? Is he manager of the alternate S-Mart? Or savior of the alternate dimension? I guess I'll never know.

Well that was a mean hoax.

P.S. And more than just a Jenova familiar.
This scene looks like a Meganekko Tifa and Cloud Nine duking it out.

Phew, thanks for posting some clarity NFITC1.
I was hoping ACS would come out with a statement making sense of the issue.

Thanks for reminding me!
I actually downloaded this game a while ago. But then got busy, and forgot I had it! I need to be sure to remember this over my winter break.  It still looks awesome.

This game looks awesome. Why can't I have more money and time  :-\
I guess I'll add it to my Retirement Activities list.

Oh look, it's this thread again.

I do agree that the ACS turning down the money is a "just wow", though.

Good luck with your situation  :-\
Hope something works out for you.

One year ago, ten days from now, was the first day of my honeymoon.

As it draws closer I am finding myself going through beach withdrawal :(

Okay, this is stretching it, but those first three notes of the intro sound familiar.

IMO, I disagree with the bottom lid being the best. It tends to run more easily.
I think the best look is the underneath of the upper lid.

As such.

Isn't there some sort of rule about not trying to sell stuff on here?

I like Python. I don't have much experience with languages. But I fiddled with Python a bit last year. My experience was that it was very easy to grasp - and there is a very large support group accessible for when you can't quite figure something out.

I'd say speed runs are only valid if you sit down, press 'New Game' and then don't move from that spot until you kill Sephiroth.  Granted, this type of run would contain countless mistakes in terms of speed
It'd also require catheter or a bedpan.

@Opine:  yes it is several hours later..  I was smoking a cig and I had this random thought about you at a wedding just asking random guests, "Hey are you Lostwing?" And them being like, "Uhh...who are you?"  lol.  just had to post that thought.

lulz, no I didn't. I did think it'd be a weird coincidence if you were there. But since my friend's not actually from Butler (they just liked the venue better than alternatives in Allegheny) I figured it highly unlikely!
