FF8 Tools / Re: [FF8PC/PSX] Save editor - Hyne (1.9.0)

It's okay. Meaning, I didn't let the game get to the credits/end. I stopped just after Ulti was beaten in battle.

I can answer your last question for the most part. Doubt people will call you a cheater since most here don't care about achievements to begin with. For max money, I'd just use the built in cheats in the game. It's either F4 or F5 you have to press ingame to max out your money. You can use Hyne to get the 10000 kills achievement. As for Squall at level 7, when I tried it, it didn't give it to me. But I also didn't let the scenes completely play out either. In the end, your game, your experience. :-)

Might be worth a shot... And if all else fails, I'd probably try doing everything over from scratch. Tonberry, textures, and the music. And I'd also try and validate your game files(or whatever that process is) or uninstall/reinstall through Steam to make sure all the original files are in working order. And if you're still facing this problem...I'm at a loss. Then you might have to compromise on what you want to use.

129
But... The music and this mod together couldn't be causing that as far as I know. Are you sure that something didn't go wrong in the process of setting things up or that maybe some of the music files aren't corrupted? It could be crashing at certain songs. I would at least check the place you got them at and see if others are experiencing the same issues. There could be a number of things causing this.

130
Have you tested any other mods? It's just that these are textures, which I haven't seen any crash games. That's why I'm interested if you've tested others.

131
So SeeD Reborn works fine for you without this? I'd probably try a few other mods as well just to make sure if it's just this mod alone. At least that way we will know for certain. It's strange how some of the mods haven't been working for people lately...

132
The real question is whether everything works without the mods installed and trying to use the music. Since I use RaW, I have no way of knowing this or not... Or if it does something to Tonberry or if the file you downloaded could be corrupted somewhere.

133
And it works without this mod installed? I mean, all this mods does is replace some of the SeeD Reborn files to function.

134
So, I do not think Project Eden is working for me while other tonberry mods are. Am I missing a hash csv? There only seem to be textures in the zip.

You can find the hashmap for Project Eden on the first page of the Tonberry 2.04 thread. At least, that's the easiest method.

hey

when i tried to work this ff8 controller mod today on my ff8 steam version

it crashed my ff8 game

i installed tonberry and seed reborn the right way

so what could be wrong then

I assume you turned off the Steam Overlay?

This seems to not works with Tonberry enhanced 2.04, but only with older versions of Tonberry

Works fine on my end... So that's kinda odd for it to only work on older versions for you. Huh.

136
Dumb Question: Is there an easy way to tell if tonberry is working? The game is running for me but as I have never played FF8 before I don't have anything to compare it to.

You can always use SeeD Reborn to see. That way you'll know if it's working just by looking at the start screen.

Troubleshooting / Re: FFVIII Speed Issues
« on: 2016-01-19 20:56:14 »
Yeah... Your specs are kind of low for Tonberry to run mostly smooth. So you'll probably see a lot of lag and some freezing at times if you're using all the mods. Like I said, my older laptop does this as well and it doesn't have all that bad of specs.

Usually when using Tonberry, there is always a little lag. But not like you're describing it. Sounds like what I get when I use my older laptop. What is your specs?

139
Sorry to ask, but are these latest updates (your latest post) published? [I've been playing a bit of FF9 waiting for you and MCINDUS to push some updates NO RUSH :P]

They are. I just update the v1.1 link on the first page is all. It's okay. Sadly, there isn't much more I can update at this current stage regarding this project. :(

140
Updated the hashmap to fix the disappearing Chocobo problem. Hoping that's the last of it.

Edited a few of the textures(including adding some filtering to the ones I upscaled using the waifu program).

Changed up Squall's weapons a bit. If you dislike it, I'll put the old ones back in if you liked the uniqueness. Or, make a copy of your current "ch" folder. Fixed the hair on Squall in his student uniform.

Oh. And I fixed the coloring of Squall's hand on the Devina edits for those of you that use them.

Okay... The second one is my edit of the edit. :P But the original has been fixed, too.

And...that should be everything.

141
Hello, this is a really nice mod :) Thanks for your work here but I've found a missing texture, while riding a chocobo. There is no texture for this sweet chocobo :(

I've searched the hashmap RebirthFlame_hm.csv and found out, that "char_sqworld_13,12571052299668781849" is doing this bug (1st entry in *World Map) after deleting it, all textures working fine.

May be this is helping others.

Greetings

Thank you. I'm aware of this problem and will be fixing the hashmap soon. Though, you didn't have to delete it. Just simply renamed it to "char_special_17". But like I said, I'll get the hashmap updated soon since I've added more codes anyway.

Other graphics mods are working, character and world map mod, SeeD mod, although the computer/terminal in the classroom at Balamb Garden still has some messy pixelated english characters in the name.. English language version, and didn't mess with the .exe at all until this patch. All other mods are drop in files that I have. One mod not working completely is the battle background mod, in Ifrit battle it had a black ground effect and was sort of flashing at times.. But apparently what FatedCourage said is that I should re-export the images in a photo editor. Which I personally don't know yet about how to do that as I'm new to the mods.. I imagine there's about 7000 images to sift through which seems cumbersome atm.

All battle background textures should be in the "ba" folder. But I was just suggesting that. I'd try that out myself, but I don't control that thread. I'm sure once I'm done with mine that any problems left will be very minor. This patch shouldn't be affecting any mods that aren't related to the world map. Because that's all this patch is meant for I believe.

143
So Ifrit battle in fire cavern has black ground. Is this a known fault?

Sounds like the upscaling process might've messed with the battle background files for that area a bit and is causing them not to work properly. Reexporting them through any photo editing program should fix that. At least that's what I'm doing for my own upscales.

Happy New Year, guys. Wishing you all the best. Can't wait to see what the new year brings this time around. And, of course, the mods that may come with it. ;)

That's unfortunate... But the other mods seem to work okay. So maybe something is set up differently with your SeeD Reborn than the others?

Ah, okay. Well, after things get sorted out, there are plenty of other mods I do recommend. ;)

Maybe try going back to the Tonberry page and redownload the hashmap for SeeD Reborn(and whatever language version you use)? Because you already have the textures.

Ah... But which mod did this objmap file come from? Because most mods just use hashmap files now. Unless you're planning on using the Lunar Cry mod to upscale enemies.

No problem. And that's good news. There is something called an objmap.csv? Which mod is that one from?

Sounds like we're almost there then. :) The point of Eden is to upscale and help get rid of the pixelation. You can always put the file in the disabled folder and restart the game to see if there are any differences just to make sure. Hm... With the "SeeDReborn_hm" you downloaded, it should work.

Okay. I'll try and help the best I can.

When upgrading, did you replace all the old Tonberry files with the new ones?

You don't have to use persistent textures. Sometimes things like the new text will rarely revert back to the old and it's for stopping that from happening.

Hash1map is no longer used if you've downloaded "ProjectEden_hm". The only files you'll still need is collisions and hash2map which will stay inside the Tonberry folder. The others ending in "_hm"(hashmap) and "_obj"(objmap) will go into their respective folders. The disabled folder inside them is exactly what it says... To disable them. So just leave them outside of that.

And are you placing the folders(mine will be "ch") inside the textures folder? With SeeD Reborn working, I assume you're doing that correctly.
