Completely Unrelated / Re: V For Vendetta

Having the government control your life, like in the movie, is not as far away as it sounds. I mean it's a good movie, but I take it as more of a warning then for entertainment.

Woah there, killer. Pull the reins up; I think you're making a pretty big assumption by saying that the government will control your life someday. George Orwell thought that complete government control would be in effect by 1984; he was wrong, wasn't he? Granted, that was a time period in which many people lived in fear, you know, Communism pushing its boundaries, missile issues, etc. etc., don't think we need to go there...but on the whole, I think that people will always maintain some sort of control of their lives of government. At least in the United States.

As to the movie: Never seen it! Heard it was worth seeing though.

Version 1 is what I have, and what I think is the coolest, but the third version will work fine, too.

Right-click on your desktop, click "Properties," "Settings," "Color Quality," "Medium - 16 bit."

Though it won't do anything. Final Fantasy VII automatically reverts to 16 bit color, anyway, unless you have the 32 bit patch applied, which I'm doubting that you do.

I guess it might have some effect. The high resolution patch won't work on my computer unless I set my resolution to 1280x960 on the desktop prior to playing the game. It will automatically go to 1280x1024, if I have that part of the patch applied. I don't know if that's a common problem; I mention it, though, because maybe setting your desktop to 16 bit color could help.

If nothing else, run the game in Software Rendering. I hear it isn't quite like Hardware Rendering, but at least it should work.

(...)Basically, before he left, he secretly went around to everyone and told them that I had made fun of/insulted the King of Thailand, which is essentially the single most offensive thing you could possibly do in Thailand(...)

I can tell we come from two different sides of the Earth. 8-)

(...)Luckily for me I had already snapped.
I just didn’t (and don’t) give a sh*t.
I told him, “Seems to me you’ve made an error in judgment and have several severe character flaws that will most likely hamper your future development a substantial amount.   :-)  However, none of this is my problem, and this conversation has been a waste of my time.  I’m off for badminton.   :-P”(...)

Good call. You really can only insult people by demeaning them, seriously.

(...)These days are a lot better.
I go out, meet new women, and smile constantly.
I met two new women last night and I wrote an e-mail to the Japanese-loving girl explaining the situation, to which she replied she was sorry and would still like to be friends/try again.

That's good. Hope things work out for better for you, buddy  :-P

Very common (why is this in tweaking?)

Because it's a problem in which he needs to have his game tweaked a bit?

Granted, he could probably find a solution by searching, but by all means, he's in the right forum, which is generally a surprise for new people these days.

I think he means.
If cloud has 10k hp and his Hp is full, would he be doing more damage than a cloud with 9,999 HP.

If that is the case, no, he does more damage if his hp is full regardless of his max HP. (at least, last I checked >_>)

His sword is proportional, not number based. You see the bar beneath his HP? It's what that bar is at is what determines his damage, and the bar never lengthens or decreases in total width throughout the game.

meh, usually i give help rather than seek it, this thread is actually a rare stretch for me. soit doesn't matter, and the only thing i'd ask for help in would probably be in actually making something..well, i'd say what my idea but this thread doesn't have spoiler tags as far as i know and my idea isn't for the youngins

Rest assured, this isn't your usual overrun forum of little n00bs. Granted, there's a small population of them, but you shouldn't worry of age in this forum.

And I can't quite fathom why you'd want to blow this game so far out of context so as to add perhaps, profanity? Pornography? Extra violence? What purpose would that serve? These adult-related themes are about the only thing I can think of as to why you'd not mention your idea due to "youngins," but I figure this game has enough suggestive material as it is.

I hope its not a bad thing to revive a topic that has been dead for over half a year, but, I am, too, stuck at this minigame at the moment. I couldn't find a more recent topic on the subject and I didn't want to create a new one for it.

Oh it's a bad thing.

How does this effect some character's ultimate weapons that are based on HP and MP?

Um...it doesn't? If Cloud's at low HP, obviously, he's not dealing 10,000+.

No, this didn't just happen because you used Jenova. I received this glitch once and I never use Jenova. It's because Sephiroth doesn't have a sword equipped for some reason.

To fix it, use Jenova and throw some Stardusts into your inventory. It seems, though, you've figured this out.

i know, and it's kinda sad because i bought the game for $10 (i was so thrilled when i found it for $10) and now i gotta pay about +50 for it.  And as sad as i am to say it and as much as i don't wanna pirate it and i wanna give this brilliant game the respect it deserves, i think i may have to go with alternative methods of getting it

You probably shouldn't have told us that.

While I would have probably suspected that you'd end up pirating this game, you've now given confirmation. You'll most likely be labeled as a software pirate and have a lot of difficulty getting anyone to help you around here.

Is that patch already done? If yes, where can it be downloaded?

(...)sorry no download right now

why

well the 1st i was using The SaiNt Higher Resolution patched ff7.exe and i know that not all of you can use that and 2nd i messed around with the ff7.exe some limits got delete so I'm going back to a clean ff7.exe v1.02(...)

(...)now here where you guys come in do you want use clouds limits like they are now i got them to work or use Vincent beasts limit that wont look buggy

well post the new patch it a day or 2 i what some info on what you think about clouds or vincents limit(...)

sorry about that, i did t myself anyways, and i also got YAMP to fix the missing FMV files problem, i just wanna know what to do now about the missing disc II

Nothing short of buying the game again.

Legally, anyway. You won't find any support for it here if choose to go illegal.

Archive / Re: FFVII Controls- Need desperate help
« on: 2006-07-31 02:51:19 »
When you start the game up first time, you'll have to use the numpad, as you probably have already surmised.

This is the PC version, right? The readme has all of the controls, I believe. Print them out if you can't remember them.

After you actually start a new game, access the menu and go to the "Config" sub-menu. Select controls, and then customize. Set them to how you like.

Twice in a row, baby!

I have no idea if mixing and matching limits is possible. If so, like knives said, maybe throw in a few Cid limits. You can't even see Cid on his jump limits, so it wouldn't matter, just so long as Sephiroth gets airborne.

But I dunno about using Vincent's limits. I'd rather have goofy looking limits than to use Vincent's simply because Vincent's limits seem like only he could be able to use them.

Maybe I'm taking too much of a storyline glance at this. Use whatever works; however, if you need a definite set of limits of just one character, I think it'd be fine to use Cloud's.

General Discussion / Re: DOC intro vid
« on: 2006-07-30 00:10:27 »
it make sense.
Remember when Cloud told the crew to go home on disc 3?
That's when they went back to Midgar.

That's far-fetched, because you might not even have Yuffie and/or Vincent in your party.

70
I think that's fairly common knowledge here.

But maybe not...I mean, even I knew that recent nVidia GPUs (as with most recent video cards) no longer supported paletted textures. That's why there used to be (still is?) many topics about why the configuration program always fails the 8-Bit Paletted Texture feature.

EDIT: Oops. Forgot to add that at least in Final Fantasy VII (not sure about VIII), you could use RivaTuner to fix the issue. At least that's what I did.

71
You know, with game-movie and movie-game adaptations, in my experience, it's either really good or really bad. There's usually no middle ground. And the sad thing is, it's usually really bad.

The only two that I can think of that were really good, both video game and movie, are Mortal Kombat and Goldeneye. The video game Goldeneye is probably the best movie-to-video game adaptation around. Almost everything else I've seen has just been horrible/sad  :-(

I don't think I've watched any of those shows listed at all in this topic (except for Family Guy!) and I have digital cable.

We've got a bunch of premium movie channels though, so I normally only watch movies. But Family Guy and Futurama are about the only show I watch.

« on: 2006-07-29 16:20:57 »
I just meant how much new models there are from V 0.5 to 0.6

I could tell you to check the readme, but here it is, anyway...

11 models from Borde.
47 models from ice_cold513.
13 models from Stormmedia.

Plus Stormmedia modified five other models.

« on: 2006-07-29 03:20:33 »
The new patch is quite cool, but how many models are exactly new changed and remade?

Check the readme. It gives exact changes and additions.

There's about 60% of all the models done, as one can surmise from the 0.6 in the filename.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear.
I was looking for  ascreenshot of the glassarmor cloud in the battle.

I don't think he has the animations for the Glass Armor model...
