Happy new year guys. And everyone know a year always start with a bug :

I got this picking up Kjata materia while having a ton of free space. Not much a problem since Kjata appears on my materia inventory, but ..



Leaving the screen and comming back allow me to pick another one. There's no limit.

You can't exploit it by selling (1 Gil) but you can equip all of these on one character to reach a high magic cap (Cait Sith built with materia tank and 8 slots weapon ?). The magic stat given would even be higher with the .exe patch.

Edit : At the end of disc 1 I had a bugged text box :



I could only choose "No" or an invisible option under it. No skipped the save, so no clue of what would have happened if I picked the other option.

I really like your purple/dark menu window, whats the RGB for it?

When using the battle models there seems to be a little delay (although part of the GUI has already loaded), what mods are you using if any? When you got the mods for the first time you didn't get any errors, correct?

I'm using
Battle Models-Weapons Mike+Slayernext
Field models- No change. Using the custom materia and potions. Not using a custom save point.
Using New threat 1.4 which has its own slightly tweaked/enhanced chibi field models. Only thing I don't like is SegaChief removed the mouths but he told me he'd add them back for me
World Models-Kaldarasha full size. Rest of the categories PRP/Kaldrasha/Costa007
Battle Models-Kaldarasha
Battle Models Enemies-I actually need to disable this, it sometimes conflicts with New Threat I think.
Music and Sound-Anxious Heart Original
Menu-MinMin avatars
Menu Overhaul-On
Minigames Wonder Square-On
MiniGames Chocobo Race-On but I have Grimmy's English version of Satsuki's Waifu textures so this might conflict I'll know when I get to Gold Saucer I guess.
Mini Games-Fort Condor-On Strayoff. I also have Satsuki's Custom textures for this, might conflict I'll know when I get there.

For the Spell Textures and Field Textures I'm using Satsuki's Waifu ones. I tried using his battle textures but they caused me lag. Alyza's and Felix's worked fine for me.

The yellow error seems to happen a lot but it doesn't seem to be a problem, the red error happened when I fought Guard Scorpion but I think that's because New Threat 1.4 has a custom skin for him, but I also had Battle Models-Enemies the Team Avalanche skin for him. One time I got a red error and it froze, another time it froze for a few seconds but still worked. I'm only on wall market, I just play a little at a time.

I would love a ff8 difficulty mod but..."I am not only going to create a mod where this level of grinding is now NECESSARY". I didn't think people found grinding out the entire game in the starter area fun? One of the main reasons I hated ff8 is because every time I start a new game I feel like I need to grind for draw spell but also for a ton of gf abilities so that I can easily beat the spider in dollet, all the grinding is front ended at the start and kinda makes the rest of the game trivial but makes starting a new game boring, when I was a kid I made a saved file right after all my grinding for gf abilities/drawing just so I could always start a new game from there and not have to redo a bajillion draws and boring battles.

Wow definitely purchasing as well, the fmvs look amazing and they definitely touched up the backgrounds and models too, on an emulator it looks way worse than that.

Thanks for the help anyway, 7th Heaven is really good so far even though I can't use field models (probably because of the crap graphics card). "Mods" like these show how much you guys love the game, I'm pretty sure Square Enix would be proud of you guys if they weren't against mods and fangames and things like that.

Also I heard you were going to redesign it or something? If so I wish you good luck :)

My good comp broke, I'm using a laptop with integrated graphics and everything is working alright unless I alt+tab which the game sometimes can't handle, when I tried to use Satsuki's upscaled battle textures there was a  delay  before every battle but with the other two texture packs, Tifa's or the Re-Textured ones it worked fine. I think it might be that Satsuki's field textures have a 1080p or maybe even 2k resolution or something and this comp only runs at 1366x768 and that's what I set the internal resolution to as well. But yea it seems like everything runs fine with my integrated graphics then again i only play a little at a time.

strawberries, I'm dumb... I deactivated the models mods only leaving the Gameplay mod and Music mod and it boots fine... ggggg I'm sorry for wasting your time. >.< I guess the GPU isn't compatible with them? Oh well.

There doesn't seem to be any music on when I don't have the Music and Sounds mod activated, but it apparently plays the music (with the VirtualMIDISynth mixer showing up) in MIDI form and all when I pick the "Original Soundtrack" option in that mod. Can this be explained? :s Also when I skip the opening movie (and the opening movie only so far) with ctrl+s the screen is pitch black, but that might be the Gameplay mod itself.

Also is it possible to change the controls without going in the game itself? I put the saves from the Steam version in this one and if I press Enter on these saves the menu doesn't show up however if I just click NEW GAME and wait for the cutscene to end so the game plays properly it opens up the menu with no problems. So yeah I'd like to know if there's a way to change the controls for example in a config file.

I disabled/turned off the skipping movie tweak because when I skipped the intro scene it screwed up the looping/timing of Anxious Heart music or something and I had no music.

Would you ever consider making a difficulty mod for ff8? I know there is a bunch of texture mods which I downloaded, but I would really enjoy something that balanced junctioning and battles in general a bit better.

Thanks for that.  It's making more sense now. I suppose someone with such an insane and twisted outlook on life is bound to let that creep into a film he/she  makes. That's a shocking quote, tbh. And imagine someone with that twisted (and sounds racist to me too) opinion being allowed near a film of this scope.

Yup, it's not so much what you know as who you know and what you're willing to do to get ahead and fern others over. That's why it's called Hollyweird and uses up and spits out talented people and promotes untalented people.

I'll improve the explanation for SP in the new version. The way it works is that whenever you defeat a boss (in 1.4 this will also include random enemies with a higher level than your party) your characters gain SP. When they have enough SP, they can buy one of 3 sets of sources to improve their stats (increased to 4 sets to choose from in 1.4). This lets you develop each character's stats in different ways. The maximum times you can do this per character is 8 (to stop stats being capped out).

Kalderasha made that model set; I added some tweaks after he donated them. I decided to remove all the mouth textures for a PS1-style, but after 1.4's release I'll see if I've still got my old files kicking around to make a special char.lgp for you that has those textures added back in.

Thx Covarr, sodoes that mean ill have some invisible textures or what? I mean as long as its nothing game breaking its completely fine w me.

I'm not far in but the only ones ive noticed are in the sector 5 reactor area, if you turn on the help cursor the green arrows that indicate ladders are blurry/blank textures, seems Satsuki forgot/missed those or something.

The last pic loks awesome but i read that the 1. is the ones quality actualy packed that we are dling. So is the pack here better thatn the original waifu post ones or not? Just so i know, the originals are great, but im getting an error message saying your graphics driver does not support NPOT textures, check applog... If this is better than that one id replace them and see if they are wo that error message.

Yes, this one http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=16444.0 is better, Satsuki said he said he went through and fixed bugs and re-did some scenes with Waifu CPu instead of GPU and made areas like Cosmo Canyon look better.

Repeating darksouls q, gfx arw gorgeous, i dled them all, but also dont know where to extract them. Thx for all the effort! :-)

Also a side question, my laptop appears not to support opengl 2.0,so im using 0711b aalis. Its probably my old laptop('s gpu), cant make field world and magic textures to work neither through 7H nor bootleg. So i searched and found this thread. Maybe this will work...

I got them to work, the ff7 7thheaven converter places a mod folder into your ff7 main directory. I just placed the field model folder included here "Char" "field" into the mod/textures directory. Before I was just putting them into the mod folder which is why they didn't work. So basically extract all these files into the mod/textures folder as they are, if they are already in folders of their own then that's how it is, the spell effects aren't and so I think that is how they are supposed to be as well.

Not a fan of disney since the corporate coup of the Disney family in the 80's, Eisner and Abrams are horrible Jewish supremacists/racists and the movie plot reads like a re-hash of episode IV. Usually don't like DLPBS harsh attitude toward things but in this case I understand it, Disney is the quintissential Square Enix/soft, used to be an amazing company now dominated/taken over by corporate interests which clash with customer interests.

Walt Disney is probably rolling in his grave.

Not that far into the mod, but really loving it so far, when I was on the way to the sector 5 bombing, I was thinking "if this guy is good he'll put something at the end of the train tracks maybe a chest or a new fight" sure enough got a hilarious fight :-p. I really liked how in the opening mission time was actually running short too, especially when I restarted and lost cloud during the Scorpion fight, which really made me escape with like 45 seconds left. I actually got worried when I got into a random battle with 1:20 or so left. Really great work so far the only thing is the tutorial area didn't tell me how often we get the level ups, is it every 5 levels, so like lvl 15 is the first? Or I'm  a bit confused on the sp level up system. Also I noticed a ton more dialogue changes, but they seem to be for the better and help clarify things, I also noticed some options which I'm guessing were skips but I didn't choose them. Really cool so far, I played the hardcore mod and I liked it too but it was more grinding/item management based, this seems more tactical than grindy but some item management too! :D

Edit: Oh I really like the touched up models too, I prefer the Chibi/originals style, I just wish they still had their mouths, it doesn't look weird when the camera is far away but when you walk right up to the camera it's pretty noticeable that slit/line for their mouths are gone.

So I decided to re-install from scratch ff7, removed the keys, reinstalled steam, and when I run the converter I'm getting this message "The paramater is incorrect". When I run as administrator I sometimes get this message instead "you may not have the appropriate permissions."

So apparently moving the converter to the desktop allowed me to run it, and everything is working fine including the mods.

I've been trying to get Satsuki's texture packs to work today and since I did that 7th heaven has stopped working. I get the message "Windows cannot access the specified, device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them." It then deletes the 7th heaven exe, or it dissapears somewhere. So i extract a new 7th heaven exe, same thing happens, then I deleted the 7th heaven folder, made a new 7th heaven folder, extracted into there, same thing happens.

Edit:So I placed Satsuki's textures into the mods folder under a folder named SWY because that's how it does it with his installer. When I moved the SWY folder out of my ff7 folder and onto my desktop I could run 7th heaven but then when I click launch it says please insert ff7 disc 1,2,3. I already have the disc 1 blank iso mounted. Kinda confused.

Oh okay no problem, was just curious if I screwed something up with 7th heaven and somehow got Reunion Beacause which I don't want, thank you for the quick responses :) and the awesome mod.

Edit: Okay so after reading some of the Reunion thread I see that he changed the dialogue with the Guardian Scorpion and changed the name of phoenix downs among other things which didn't change for me so it seems like I didn't screw anything up with the 7th heaven and other mods and it's just a pc script change or new threat change.

Nope; if the text seems different it'll be a combination of the PC version having slightly different text to the PS1 version + some on the fly revisions I made here and there. I don't know how much was changed in 1.35, I've been slowly reworking the text and fixing the text boxes intermittently for a while now.

Just little things like that I've been noticing, since I've played the games so many times. I don't mind, I just wasn't sure how it happened.

EDIT: Okay so the ps1 script says Biggs-"Think how many of our people risked their lives, just for this code...". I just replayed the beginning and it says "Wasn't easy getting these codes. Had to risk our lives to get 'em." I can't find a copy of the PC script so I don't know if this is a PC change or what.
