Well, I use it to follow on the Nightmare's mod, since I don't have the time to play. But anyway, part 7 is online!

152
The game doesn't need only visually artists, audio artists would be great too. Ficedula has made a great tool which is able to play ambient sound. Ambient sound would give the game a more liver feeling. The problem is that no one has started such a mod project.

This. Modding isn't all about graphics.

I am installing it to the default folders

That would be the cause of all your errors. Install somewhere else, such as C:/Games and try again. That's why your changes don't save properly, and likely why your kernel is not where it should be.

155
There are really few enemy remodels around, sadly. I'm glad you like.

156
If you installed Bootleg, it will be pretty much the 1998 version. Run Wall Market as admin and try again. Which OS, and where is the game installed?

"Relocate" means to install to another location.

To relocate, copy Steam.exe and the SteamApps folder anywhere else. Copy it in C:/Games for example. Then launch Steam.exe.

160
At any rate, it was not remade. It was simply re-released.

Are they named properly based on the game's names? Direct mode (using Aali's driver) might be your best guess; you might need to convert the files you have into a format FF8 can read to pack them back inside the .fs archive. myst6re's Deling can unpack and repack .fs files.

162
DQ8 is the second more desired remake? Seriously? xD It's gorgeous as is, who'd want a remake of that game over RE, FF8, FF9...
But, the most funny is the 11th position. FFX? They made an HD remake recently, why would it need another one?

11th position is 9, not 10.

A quick Google search turns up WinMerge, which I've heard of before. If you have Tifa's Bootleg Torrent, it's in there. I'll send it to you over PM regardless.

Overlooked the pharmacy text bit. My bad. I'm not actually the one doing the guide; I maintain it and do the formatting (so that you can have the images embedded in the text and the various tables), but NeuroSephiroth is the one making the guide (he sends me the updates and I put them online). I fixed all your points now, should be good to go.

165
Part 4 was updated with Kuugen's notes. Let me know if I missed anything.

166
I'll be adding those in tomorrow to the guide; sleepy Vgr is not clear-headed and might will would does eeh, something something screwing stuff up. Night.

What we could do to find is to rule out what cannot cause the issue from what is a possible cause. Without further information I'm guessing it's a script that's meant to run when entering the screen, which may or may not have been there before. We know it all too well, that game is known for having a lot of unused content. I'm not sure what else could be causing this, but it's weird. Have you tried comparing both yours and the vanilla fields side-to-side? I don't know how many modifications you put in there.

This tutorial here can guide you through it.

Yes.

Done. You can now edit the files directly online. When you got time I can tell you a bit more about Markdown formatting and how to use Git on your computer (so you can edit on your computer and push your changes online).

172
So, I took some time to put online that guide in a new repository. If you have an account just tell me (it takes a minute to make), I'll make it so you can edit the files as well. You don't even need to download anything, and it's easy. Formatting is a bit of a pain though, but you'll get it eventually.

It's right there.

I would recommend Steam. It's cheaper, and essentially becomes identical to the old version when you use the converter (which is included in Bootleg).

That would be incorrect. The converter for the 2012 Square Enix Store version is included, but not the converter for the 2013 Steam version. You need to use Kompass63's Game Converter for that (or some tricky manipulation). Tifa's Bootleg tutorial has it as its first step.

174
Short answer: No.

Long answer: It's not that easy.

Both are the same, really. With the Steam version, you just have to re-download, with the discs you have to re-install. You can also keep a backup copy somewhere. The Steam version would be easier to get than discs (and probably cheaper).
