Completely Unrelated / Re: My Apology

I also knew it was all 1 guy and have done for a long time.  I had my own fun with him in pm's, to also see how far he would go.  I find it all a bit distasteful and a bit odd to be honest.  There is no need for that kind of deceit and it only ruins forums and trust.

Anyway :)  Moving on.

Hi Aali, few small issues:

Credit screen and game menu seem to be at 60 fps when 30fps is preferable.  It seems the credits at the start of game are too fast compared to PSX?  The menu is updating so fast that the movement of the cursor is too sensitive.

I only want a remake if they stick to the script instead of ruining it with gimmicks and rubbish like Advent Children etc.

yes, I recently located the data inside FF7.exe, see wallmarket thread.  You will need knowledge of hex editing for now and also need the FF7 text code chart found here >

http://wiki.qhimm.com/FF7/FF_Text

There is no program made at the moment to do all this for you.  However, if you can\'t do this and want me to help, I will.  Just PM me.

Take what Famitsu say with a pinch of salt, they gave FF12 a 40/40  which is nonsense.

Further to our discussions in PM I have also located the default naming of the characters text.

It is also located in FF7.exe at 52: 06B0h

There may be more text in FF7.exe that I haven\'t found yet aside from all the menu items.  :) ciao

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / Re: Japanese ff7text

GlitterBerri found me it...credit goes to him.

Hopefully this document will help developers add support for Japanese, like Proud Clod program for example.

This second one is just a tidied table that I have made, it does not include the kanji (which the above link does, so download both)

Will you add support for japanese scene.bin (possible)? (I can supply scene.bin too if you wish)

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / Japanese ff7text
« on: 2009-11-29 02:22:04 »
I am thinking of producing the japanese version of this:

http://wiki.qhimm.com/FF7/FF_Text

I have already done around 70 of the maximum 256 values.  I don't want to carry on with this painstakingly slow process until I can be sure this hasn't already been done, and save myself the time.

I hope to produce a program soon which will allow all the japanese strings in the game to be uncovered.

So...does Japanese ff7text already exist, or is it up to me?
