Troubleshooting / FF7 Lock-up - Yuffie Battle

Hi,

So heres whats going on. I've played up until the forested area near Junon, where I want to grab Yuffie. The game will just stop once I defeat her. The battle ends, I get the exp screens, etc. Then just black. I have to force the application to close to get away from it.

Otherwise the game is perfect. The bike thing was fast but I don't really care about fixing that >_>

Does this happen often? Any settings I should change?

I'm using a laptop.

Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB RAM
160GB Hard Drive
Mobile Intel 965 Express (358MB reserved to it)
Conexant HD Audio

Drivers are all the newest, and ff7.exe (v1.02) is set in compatibility mode in 98/Me mode.

As for codecs and things, I just have the duck one. And standard DivX codecs.

Also I am using a proper version of the game.

General Discussion / Can't find FFVII 1.2 Patch

Hi,

I've looked everywhere. Eidos seem to have removed it from their website (Message also states they've removed all their old support content to make room for the new stuff), and another link elsewhere is down.

I've tried google, searched for it. I get some weird 'Unofficial 1.4 patch', which I definatley do not want to try out.

Can somebody else upload it?

If you can, I can provide a download link as well, afterwards. I have about 1000GB of bandwidth on my server (Clustered).

Greetings.!

Do any of you know (besides eBay) where I can get some Final Fantasy merch?

I love the design of Squalls necklace in FF8, and would love to have something like that round my neck.

I live in the UK, and i've been told its nearly impossible to get one, as it's all strictly made in Japan etc.

Hi, in the PlayStation version I seem to remember holding the shoulder buttons regained stamina.

.. Using the default config in the PC version of FF7 (Numpad etc), what buttons am I to press to make this happen.?

Hi.

I just made these for myself at first, but I'll put them up here so you can have an alternative icon for FF7 if you want. They're only cropped parts of the Advent Children poster, with text.

This isnt a tweak as such, so nothing technical is involved.

Troubleshooting / Final Fantasy VII Crash

Hello.!

I've been through many copies of FF7 for the PlayStation in my time, but now I decided to go and buy FF7 for the PC .. It was a lot of money (£30.00).

Now,

I realise that it's not XP-Compatible, so I installed the 1.2 patch, and then updatred to the 1.4 one afterward.

The game works great, all the videos work, the visuals are fine, runs smoothly, sounds resonale, etc.

But sometimes, the game hangs when a battle starts (Usually in the area in the first Mako Reactor with the long staircase) - and i'm sent to the desktop. Strangely, the battle music still plays.

It doesnt crash before this, though. All the battles beforehand are fine.

I might have switched back to the desktop a few times (by accident.. I have a silly keyboard with a task switch button under the numpad), so ..

.. Any ideas.?
