7th Heaven / Weapon Model Mods

Hello there guys. Yes I know I'm oppening another thread for the same thing as I oppened one for Red XIII weapons that thanks to your help I could get weapons for his model in battle :D

Anyways I realized, thanks to Battle Models - Weapons, I got half the main Characters' Weapons remodeled so I wanted to ask if you could point me to any mod that has not an empty link or is not on a site where you need to register to see the mods and the site has registration restricted, I'm looking for mods for weapon models for Barret, Tifa, Vincent and Cid, I got all the others already thanks to the mod on 7H Catalog.

Maybe it's because the .exes are new? Try right-clicking the one you're using from 7H, and if a button called 'unblock' is visible then click it.

there's no such button in the properties... also if it was blocked wouldn't that prevent the game from launching all together from that .exe? the issue is that it crashes when the battle starts

I don't know anymore what is happening, last thing I can think of doing is making a reinstall of FF7 and remod it because it is not working, it keeps crashing when the battle scene starts to show as if it was having troubles loading the characters.. now the app.log tells me that the exception is not handled... I don't know anymore since it also doesn't seem to be the download sites... however what's setting me off is that you say you tested it and it works... this is frustrating... and don't know if other users are having the same problem :/

I'm even willing to try the exes from the installer download just to try something that can save me having to reinstall

ok then I'm a bit alliviated, also Downloading from mega i get the 9th May zip archive and inside the folder is the 20th March 2019 date... is this correct because Mega doesn't update the folder names?

I get those for the iro download not the installer Download shows the correct date of 18th May

I didn't swap the iro files for the new ones you've uploaded with the fresh .exes, perhaps that might be another side of the issue so checking it now u.u I hope this is the problem and I am to shame for the scare

No, not even swapping the iro file... perhaps it could be mediafire then if when you modify and test it and it works but then downloading then it doesn't... we could try using Mega instead, see if it doesn't give troubles :/

Other option is that I do a complete new install, patch of the game and try with that.

ok I'll try again, and about the text not fitting I fixed it by telling 7H the path to the ff7.exe again (trying NT without other mods activated still)

Ok Sega Chief. I tried to old .exe files from your previous version and the battles work perfectly. When I swap those files in into the FF7 folder the game starts and everything, but when getting into battle the game Crashes as it loads the battle scene. I tried even with the mod deactivated and it still crashes the game when getting into battle. No matter if there are other mods or not...

When you said this:

A new IRO just means it gets swapped in for the old one. What you should do is apply each IRO one by one and test the game each time to see if it is working properly (starting with running the game through 7H with no IROs active to see if it works). If you have mods that aren't IROs, then you need to be careful you don't overwrite the entire .lgp archives.


did you mean that those who already had the mod just had to swap the Iro file only and not swap the .exe files?

oh! ok then ^^ well I certainly don't mind mashing buttons more times (I can always use the turbo feature of my controller hehehe)

Ok i only got your mod installed and activated from 7th Heaven, when I get into a battle, the game crashes for some reason. Trying with a brand new run of the mod and it still crashes when getting into battle

there's no IRO file on the download? you waiting to see if it gets updated on the 7H catalog? also does the Source 1:1 mean that 1 source counts as tha 1 source?

Thanks IDerek for the recomendation. I cheked Nexus but... I didn't find any mod that was for Barret's or Cid's weapon models over there :/

hmmm well I know how to pack an Iro that I've unpacked from the 7th Heaven, but it would be great to know how to pack an iro from a non iro mod it would help a lot since I've seen tehre are a lot of mods that still doesn't seem to have a iro for themselves.

I managed to make the models and textures work packing them into an IRO file, however I had to lock it only for chm15 since I had to put together the rwaa and rwda files with the weapons models files so they wouldn't be white textures. The mod comes with various folders for various models of Red XIII so it could be made into a bunch of folders for the mod for each of the models that it comes with, or somehow tell the scripts to load Red's model from the folders and the weapons from the weapon folder, don't know how that would work sadly u.u

Now that I got weapons for Cloud, Aeris, Yuffie, Red XIII, Reeve- I mean... Cait Sith and Sefiroth (yes even his masamune had a retexture :P I would like to ask if there is any mod around so I can add them to remodel the weapons of the remaining main characters (Barret, Cid, Vincent, Tifa) I don't mind if they are separated I think i know how to meld them all together in a single IRO file now, but I can't seem to find any around this site :/

Ok I was looking into this out of curiosity and those last screenshots of the colored menu just made me make a hole in my desktop HOLLY DAMN THAT LOOKS AMAZING! I which it was possible to have a slider so we could do more customization without having to edit it with external programs like photoshop

ok then ^^ Thank you so much. For this and for the 7th Heaven in general if not for it I would've stuck with just installer mods and probably have to do a ton of reinstals of Final Fantasy VII in the future hehe.

hello there, guys. I just remembered that there was this post for the updates of the catalog of 7th Heaven Mod Manager and I wonder if I could make a request that's going around the mod Battle Models - Weapons mod that is already in the catalog and that has the issue with Mike + Millenia option of the mod.

I wanted to ask if I could request that it gets updated with the Iro I modificated to fix the Issue. I oppened a topic about this and managed to end up fixing it and the steps to fix it are there as well but I can always send the Iro to be uploaded to the mod's Catalog and perhaps save others the problem of having to figure out how to fix them. If the answer is Yes just lemme know if I should post the Iro over here too or if I should PM it to you.

But if You have already fixed the issue then no problem, I was just asking ^^ just sorry for sticking my nose around hehe ^^'

It's likely the ff7_bc.exe isn't up to date; did you get it from catalog or the IRO download on this thread? I'm doing a maintenance patch to make sure everything I've got up currently is consistent.

I took the Iro that you uploaded here for 1.5 with the fixed models, one that you fixed and uploaded answering to someone that said that the models of the characters in the fields weren't correct. I'm trying to get a few enemy skills and also get past the marsh to get into the Mithril Cave

Ok I came to ask something about the limit breaks,about if there are new limit breaks for the characters or no and in case there were how to obtain them, but then saw your comment about the changes on the exe and I got a few things to say about it.

-) Potions, Ethers, and Hi-Potions restore the same HP in the field menu as they do in battle.


Uhm... No my potions keep healing 100 out of battle and Hi-Potions heal 500 out of battle while they do heal 300 and 1000 in battle.


-) Restorative magic ignores MBarrier


No again. during the battle against the last boss before getting out of Midgard I used MBarrier on Red XIII since I couldn't give him Elemental Materia + Fire to protect him against the fire attacks of the boss. I had to do an emergency Cure All there and the MBarrier popped up and prevented the full effect of the heal.

This things might be because I'm using the ff7_bc.exe to be able to use "The Reiunion" mod, but reading this changes and seeing that things are not working as they should I got a feeling the Soruces are going to work like normal instead of how the mod intends them to work too. I'm about to get into the Mithril Mine so I'll know and will be able find out soon.

7th Heaven / Rendering Weapons for Red XIII in battle mod

Hello guys! :) I was wondering... I also tryed to look around google and such but found nothing at all. Is there a mod around that adds models for Red XII weapons? and since I'm asking this are there any mods for all characters Weapon models? since in the actual version of the /yh Heaven Catalog the Battle Models for the Weapons only cover Cloud, Aerith, Sefiroth and Yuffie, but I would like to see Red XIXX weapons since it's one of the characters that's always in my party and also have better looking weapons for all Characters except for the ones I just mentioned.

this is personal but if it can be an iro file that I can import it would be better for me, or that I can easily convert into an IRO with the 7th Heaven tool.

I ended up downloading "The Reunion" mod that's on 7th Heaven to have Menu Overhaul and be able to play the game with 1240x710 ressolution without having to lines issue, so I'm right now using the ff7_bc.exe from your mod, still haven't even gotten out of Midgar xD and about the sources I don't know how Black Chokobo tells you how many soruces I have used, if in the original game the sources only count as 1 and with NT they count as 5, just need to know what number do I have to check on the stats window of BC to know how many sources I've "used"

4. Go to Cloud - slayersnext and copy the rtaa file there, and repeat step 3.
5. Pack back the iro and install.

You dont mention that particular file in there

Glad to be of help, perhaps the Buster Sword thing was that I too copied the "rtck" file from Mike's pack of the mod and pasted it into Mike + Millenia pack, is the only thing I think is  missing from the steps I mentioned above but that I didn't write because i thought it was correct but seems like no, I'll edit the steps of the little guide and also add the iro file as well

Yo I think I'm the one from that thread who had this very same issue and seeing someone finally coming around to fixing it is great!
Right now im going to try what you did but it would probably be a good idea if you shared the iro file for others.  :)

- edit - and i must have fucked something up because i get the Millenia buster sword instead of Mike's Crisis Core one.
- edit 2 - I even went to get the original mod from Mike's own page to install to very files but somehow i still use Milenia's buster word despite trying to use the Mike Millenia combo

Perhaps you need to get the "rtck" file from Mike since that's the file for the buster sword, also did you follow the steps I mentioned that I fixed it with?

Here is the link of the iro I modified to get it to work properly for Battle Models - Weapons:

Note: it works for me now but you get this weird thing on Cloud's face, a texture problem. To fix it I used the Battle Models - Main Characters and changed Cloud's model. Any of them should work with the weapon models, just make sure to do two things:

-1 Make sure the Weapons mod is over this one as in the load order it will overwrite the Battle models for the weapons but not the characters models.

-2 Make sure you chose one of Cloud's models that has no Buster Sword with him, I tried Kaldarasaha's model and Bloodshot - Clasic and they work perfectly with this swords (Kaldarasha's Cloud model moves slower on the "run away" animation for some reason, tho.)

There isn't anything anyone can do if your PC refuses to actually work with the mod; unless the original mod creators can tailor it to your specific rig at this point, if it is in fact the mod, there is no solution.

I told you you can uninstall it and you may need to completely reset your installs because of the multiple re-tries, as it may have wrecked some of the files and how they load. It means you can't just do a simple re-install. It has to be a completely clean install and re-download from scratch of any network .iro you had been using.

Why I suggested taking it apart, is because if it's still not working, your rig may have specific issues with this mod itself, which would require the attempts to change it you already seem to have tried inside the files or by moving it into one that works..

I know it's tricky to learn, but nothing in this title has mod-friendly involved in it..

thing is, that moving around the "rtaa" for cloud's in battle model and for the textures of the weapons I've been able to make Mike's Buster Sword and Ultima Weapon work, but at the costs of Millenia's Weapons not showing when i Equip say... Organics, so the mod works, perhaps what is bad is the rtaa on the combination that the option Mike + millenia uses, not sure.

Ok I think I fixed the issue gonna say what exactly did I do on this last one:

1. Upacked the iro of the mod with 7th Haven tool for Iro converssion.
2. Went into Cloud - Mike Folder
3. Coppied the "rtaa", "rtae" and "rtaf" files from Cloud - Mike and pasted them into Cloud - Mike + Millenia and everything seemed to work.

I also copied the "rtck" and "rtcz" files which left the Ultima Weapon without effects so I don't fully know if the effect of the sword are still broken or not, but I'm on that right now

Ok all is fixed. as I thought, the Ultima wepon with special effects had the efects texture still bugged, however, I fixed this by copying slayer's "rtaa" file form his part of the mod and pasting it into the combined mod for Millenia + Mike weapons and now everything works perfectly! I tryed to do it without copying Mike's rtaa file first but the weapon kept being white so i coppied it, then had to get a new rtcz file for the ultima weapon with efects (thanks that i decided to make a second copy of the unpacked iro i could get another without unpacking) and then to fix the effects was just what i said i did with the rtaa file from Slayer's folder of the mod combining all these files i've managed to make it work finally so to fix it it would be like this:

1. Unpack the iro into a folder.
2. In Cloud - Mike folder go into battle and copy the files "rtae" and "rtaf" ----Edit 3----: also copy the "rtck" file for the Buster Sword, as it seems the one in mike + Millenia is the Millenia one instead of mike's.
3. Paste those files into the Cloud - Millenia + Mike folder (overwrite if asked)
4. Go to Cloud - slayersnext and copy the rtaa file there, and repeat step 3.
5. Pack back the iro and install.

I hope this helps more people that are having this issue with this mod. I know there is someone that had this problem but telling them this in that post would be doing necro... :/

Well thanks to KohryuZX I uploaded the modified IRO file on Mega with this problem fixed with the steps above, I'll leave it here so you don't have to go through the hassel of diving into the mod files :)

I had the same issue with that weapon combination, you can either use the other combo like, millenia or like I did I ended up fixing it tho it's been awhile so I don't remember what I did to fix it, but I also added my own changes to the mod.

at this point i just want an iro that works since I've been wanting to play for days and have not because i want mike's buster sword and Ultima weapon and also Millenia's weapons. I don't like almost half of the models from Slayer sorry and I don't know what else to do, if you still got the mod installed and working properly could you please, PLEASE get it into an IRO or something and send it to me? I'm just desparate at this rate! T^T

I've moved the rtaa from one folder to the other i tryed taking the iriginal files from Mike and put them into Millenia+Mike from this mod, packed and unpacked the iro a lot... I don't know what else to do anymore and I've tryed to use pcreator tool even to change texture IDs but it won't open saying it's missing don't know what file now... It's 2:50am for me and I've been at this since 11:30am...

Um, just opening .iro files is an option right in the top tab, click Workshop, select IRO creation tool. Next, click the Unpack IRO tab. Then make a folder, copy the folder location and paste the location in, Output Folder. Finally, select the Source IRO and find where your .iro mods are, generally  in your FINAL FANTASY VII\mods\7th Heaven folder..

Look at what comes out and see if something's broken that way, because I have zero issues with any battle mods UNLESS I use other mods at all.

However, with multiple uninstalls and re-installs it's possible some of your IRO files got messed up. See, I have to completely uninstall the iro's and re-download them, too I can't use 7th Heaven backups, I never run without fresh ones, in a separate, clean backup folder, if any at all, AFTER uninstalling them from 7th Heaven, and I tear my IRO's apart to check if things are in the right places..

Oh gods, sorry for making you explain all this, but I have Zero idea of what I'm looking for and have no program to check what I'm touching. What I meant with unpacking the thing is that I went and looked for and downloaded Mike's Weapon mod separately but it has no IRO format, so the only way of installing it is doing so manually for that you gotta unpack the battle.lg... something, and that's the kind of file I don't wanna touch least I break something from the game itself. And I always Downloaded the mod again after reinstalling the game fresh.

If your's works perfectly can I burrow your IRO file of that mod then and try that?

I did, after a clean installation of the game following on the steps that are specified at the frequently asked questions about 7h, the first thing I did was try the mod with Mike+Millenia option and the sword was still broken I no longer know what to do except chose another option and wait and hope until the catalog gets officially updated and that this mod gets a fix that way...

Another thing that happens is that the buster sword instead of using Mike's Buster Sword it uses Millenia's instead for the textures when I activate the option of mixing both so I think it's a problem on how the mods where put in that combined pack for that option. I would love to install them manually, but it requires opening a file I don't know how to open and I don't wanna dive there in case I break anything
