Would anyone be interested in a mod where you can choose to play as zack or sephiroth instead of a ordinary character?
I'm half working on "Murak's sephiroth/ zack mod" (two separate downloads) and I was wondering if anyone would show interest in this.
 It could be uploaded to filefront at any time.

I'm interested in both, but can we choose which character to be replaced by zack? Do you intend to make limits break working for sephiroth (or do you think it's possible) ?  :-)

Oh, in each download, you will find a zip of the replacement folders, (there will be 9 sub folders in each mod folder, with the correct replacement files for cloud, barret, tifa, aerith, red XIII, Yuffie, Cait Sith, Vincent and Cid) and just move the items in each replacement folder to the correct area and voilà! the character will be replaced with zack/sephiroth.
Not sure if I explained it well, but if anyone didn't understand what I meant, just ask or PM me.
The limit breaks are kept the same, but I could take on jobs to change limits breaks.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that you could choose to replace the proper sephiroth with the person sephiroth replaced.

Haha It's definitely interesting, but I just keep thinking about how WEIRD it would be if Sephiroth was Cloud and Zack was Tifa, and their weird love story...

I was considering having the Yuffie date with sephiroth as Yuffie and zack as cloud, sephiroth would kiss zack. :-)
I'm also working on making Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo the turks. Does anyone like the idea of that?

If there is already Sephiroth (in KH version ) then no need of his 3 weak clones ... And there is no geostigma in FFVII ...
Also , why are your models so dark? Or maybe it's just Zack and Sephi don't know.

Well i think the whole mod is spoze to be sort of silly with a nice change from your regular characters, I like the idea of those three as the turks but the question is who would be elana :lol:..

For those of us that a n00bs with LGP Tools, maybe you can explain which files belong to which character?  I can unpack all the archives, but then I'm just not sure what files to replace because I'm not sure what character belongs to the files.  Other than that, this mod is pretty awesome.  I always thought it would be cool to have Zack replace Vincent, but use Cloud's battle animations, and Vincent's limits.  To me, since Vincent changes to a different model during his limits, then the animation wouldn't be messed up like Sephiroth's are during Cloud's limits.  Keep up the great work!

Okay, for the only replacement folder that I uploaded, (vincent for those not in the know) you just need to move the contents of the char and battle into the extracted char and battle folders before making a new lgp file (backing up is recommended.), and then put the lgp file inside the menu and simply replace it with your lgp one in your menu.(i already changed vincents icon with zack, all credit for that goes to Dje for making my avatars work in game) When I upload the more complete one, you will just have to either replace your lgps with mine, or mix and match with only 3 folders, tops. (meaning you will have to create your own, or use the pre chosen one.)
Anyway, I'm making some sceenshots of vincent to show you that he does work.

Would anyone be interested in seeing the "death of sephiroth by the hands of aerith? I'm trying to make her monologue, but I can't find that bit of the game in the flevel.

Besides including zack, i made a mod like this last time having zack, cloud and sephiroth, exept i formated my comp and lost all my work, but it can be redone, fairly easy to make a mod like this.

(fast easy steps for battle)

If you wanted Sephiroth as the main character, all you do is open up hex editor, search for CLOUD.DAT and change the name to CEFIROS.DAT
which then would replace the battle models in game, cloud to sephiroth.
2nd step is to find clouds battle animation "rtab" make a copy and rename it to "saab" which is sephiroths battle animation, so that the limit break would work.

Do the same steps for which other characters you want to change in battle.
If you wanted cloud, sephiroth and zack in battle, just change the hi-res cloud to zack and change the name of which ever character you want to replace with zack. (if that made any sence, sorry guys im really tired today and i cbf with hw ==)

TEXT changing:
To change the name to zack, sephiroth or whatever name you want it to be, use these programs "Loveless" or "cosmo", i won't explain in detail, in cosmo goto tools/search/replace tools and search in the name of the character, then replace it with the name you want.

blahh i'll explain it better and rewrite it up next time, right now i'm jsut so dam sleepy.

It's becasue, you did not add texture to the .p
Just open up the head of cloud .rsd file in notepad, which is AAAF.rsd

should show somthing like this:

Well don't try too hard, just make one thing at a time, one thing that pleases you.
As for myself, the idea of weapons instead of main char is funny, and interesting technically ( i don't even manage to make a simple cloud head change to work ingame) , but i won't use it.
Zack was interesting, but i like alot vincent ... And i would prefer to have a high KH1 quality cloud instead of a medium quality Zack. Also i thought of importing Squall too (From KH2 ) ...
And sephiroth , hum as said ice cold posted one a while before, but it has severe limitations as it is not compatible with The Saint High Res Patch...  :cry:

So do as you want guy, you know my personal goal much better than anyone here  :-)

History

version 1, cloud converted into the diamond weapon for the field and battle.

version 2, tifa and barret changed into their respective weapon for the field and battle. (tifa is the ruby weapon and barret is the emerald weapon.)

Future of this mod,
I hope to create a modified FF7PC with the weapons and other famous monsters instead of the normal FF7 characters.

Copy and paste (or drag and drop) items in this unpacked archive into correct destination folders; such as
(and you tell which folders are going into which ones, like Battle items go into unpacked battle.lgp ... )

Then to finish,create a new lgp archive with lgptools ?

Okay. I'll include that in it. I finished red XIII as the ultimate weapon. Would anyone object to vincent being Chaos? or Yuffie as godo battle form? I'm open to suggestions.

yeah. I can get anyone a replacement mod if anyone wants. I did dyne a long time ago, but be warned, sometimes you lose HP when he attacks and his animations are messed up, E.G. when he dies, he stands there and his victory pose? he waves his arm with the gun on as if he's attacking.

How am I going to do this? I take it I replace the battle folder with the one you gave me, but what do I do with char? Replace all them files with the ones in the ficedula  because there's some files that I can't find to replace. -_-

GO GO DYNE! The limit break works perfectly, plus he adds a bit of breakdancing too it.

This is his death, which looks alright but his crouched over one would be much better.

His attack motion is him just standing there and a slash appears on the opponent.

Overall, this has worked absolutely brilliantly. This is the first time I've seen a non npc or a non party member at one point in the game work very well. Sure, he's a little f***ed up looking but he works flawlessly except for the little hickups with animations and such. Brilliant job. But I can't quite fathom why I had all the battle models for the field screen but not on the world map? I coulda swore I didn't install that mod...

You should work on Dyne, he'd be an excellent advantage to the team with a few more fixes. Thanks man.

edit: Fucking hell dude, you're from Newcastle? You're right next to me. I'm in Sunderland. xD

there were 2 ways I could'e gone about replacing dyne with yuffie, way 1: save dyne's field model completly as yuffie's and replace the field animations with dyne's and have messed up dyne almost every moment of him appearing on the field, and I might alter him since I personally like what I'm seeing. or way 2, replace wch part of yuffie's skeleton with dyne and resize to make parts not needed invisible, and have a fully working dyne. I went with way 2. but went with way 1 for the battle model. but that was only for the limit breaks, but there are some problem's I found when replacing barret with dyne, sometimes I lose health when dyne attacks and my other character doesn't attack after he does. did you find any of this?
But I'll rotate and change his field model to make him fit better.

I didn't attack with Dyne much, I tried his magic animations (all I had was throw) which worked well. So item things work, I'll test magic soon.

An idea I had is to replace Vincent with Dyne then Yuffie with Zack. Then i could use cosmos (or a better text editor) to change Vincent's text to make it look like it's him instead of an obvious Vincent replacement model. Is there any way you can change model animations for different things? Like Cloud's summon animation for using items and such? That could be helpful in this situation.

Also, with this mod if you can use monster enemies, wouldn't it be possible to input the good model of Sephiroth near the end or is that impossible?

Eh, I was trying to mess with my battle.lgp , and to replace sephiroth ultimate (at the end of game, "muaa" ) parts, :head, and legs) into sephiroth nibbleheim (saaa) ...
It works, but in kimera the new parts are all blacks ????????

Good monster models to convert would be...

Dyne
Rufus
Elena
Rude
Reno
Sephiroth.

Conversion's of each individual character for a mod would be great, like being able to play as the turks. Murak, if you get some time you should convert Elena, Rude or Reno. Seeing as they have animations for summons, magic, damage and everything. That'd be interesting. But a replacement mod with Barrett instead of Dyne and Dyne instead of Barrett similar to Cloud/Sephiroth would be awesome.

I'm just throwing ideas out there though.

I already did a barret/dyne replacement I can upload it if you want. So, in this mod, who would be who? I'm having trouble with filefront, so uploading some screens for you to know that I fixed dyne's field model will be troublesome at present.. BTW, call me Malachi, dante66. anyway, if anyone is interested, i can upload my mod of, sephiroth/zack/rufus/reno=cloud, zangan=tifa,  dyne=barret, bughagen=nanaki, ifalna=aerith, plamer=cid, N vincent=Y vincent, Godo (battle form or field form) =yuffie, Reeve=cait sith.
Also, I made recently, the "MP mod" where you play with the MP outfit. (the first 2 monsters you fight in the game.) but I kept the heads the same. It's for: battle, field models, and the world map.

well you can upload screens on photobucket , and files on rapidshare, they both have a login zone, so can track downloads, and keep trace of what you 've already uploaded.

NEVER use rapidshite, it'll give you more problems than less. Imageshack is the best thing to use for uploading images.

I said FILES on rapidshares, for pictures i said photobucket. Imageshack is worse . I used to have problems with it. Images resized automatically, links unavailable... Rapidshare is usefull when you have a collector account to login and keep trace of your uploads. You know then won't be deleted, not like sendspace, megaupload and else.

Much better IMO, you're not gonna get a good uploader unless you pay really, and I don't have any problems with Imageshack, if anything Photobucket is more liable to resize stuff.

Er, what's the link between pictures and speedyshare?? Speedyshare dosn't displays the pictures in thumbnail ....
The stupid "you've maxed nanana " is because you heavy download, sorry for you. I have a software that downloads automatically one after one file, and for severals uploaders (megaupload, etc) . hey aaron, let the kid say his piece, plus, I don't mind if he's a necromancer on a subject such as this one as it will probably be a place for me to dump my stuff when  I'm sick of it.
and in responce to your question, simple, I merely used the late NPC RP V0.6 as a base, and then made my alterations to the data inside the char folder after backing it up.
and regarding your weapons mod, check out the first post, but be warned, it doesn't have the ultimate weapon as red XIII.
(also, I will not be continuing any work on dante66's final fantasy stories mod where you play from the flashback when cloud leaves to join soldier.
and then when you pass a area, the event of the respective character happens:
 EG: cosmo canyon, seto fights against the gi tribe, corel, barret allows mako reactors to be built and then up to the point where the gun arm is strapped on, etc.)
and regarding the zack/sephiroth data ready to put inside the char/battle lgp, that will only be uploaded if at least 7 people express interest to it. I'm keeping track, and not enough showed interest so far.

well, dje, I just downloaded the weapons mod, and there was no red XIII data there, meaning he was not replaced with the ultimate weapon in any uploaded weapons mod.
I recall saying somewhere on the forums about progress about final fantasy stories, but I have somewhat killed all work that I have done on it, but if someone else wants to do it, they can have the little script I wrote for it, but no more. (don't ask why, but I always keep a copy of any changes to the script in case I ever try it again, but I won't this time)

The Dyne model looks amazing and it even works in battle.
Maybe he could replace barret or something in another char conversion patch.

knives... are you really interested in the work of that modder? if so, i have a copy of that mod i could tamper with (that is if murak/malach! doesn't mind me doing so) but from what he did, all he did was save ehaa as sbaa, scaa, sdaa and seaa and change ehda as sbda, scda, sdda and seda. that wasn't special in the slightest, but the work on the field could've been better if he had used a newer kimera model then the dyne field model would've been bright as its meant to be, but he was probably too lazy to download a later version of it or something.
as for a update, i think he was banned or left for some reason, hence the lack of updates.
(what sort of replacement mod did you have in mind? i'm curious to say the least as if it's good, we can pester the modders here to get it made. :))

Also the Dyne seems to work really well. Maybe a Dyne > Baret patch or something.

he weapons wasn't hilarious, it was masterfully made and well thought out. i like the work in this topic because it has work other people didn't think of before, such as changing the outfits everyone have to the MP or making the killer weapons as playable people (he even changed the diamond weapon to a enlarged cloud as well as the ruby to tifa and the emerald to barret! i wasn't expecting that!)
a dyne-barret patch is very easy to make actually, all you need to do is save as for the field and battle and just renamed the animations for battle and rotate the feet 270 degrees. i shall make one today then. (and it will not be dark or have eye trouble.) i'll upload it after school.
happy knives?

EDIT: the dyne barret replacement. it only changes the normal field models a present, but i made it during ICT so don't complain.  :lol:
