Erm,

Not sure if someone already did this, but I added Xbox 360 controller buttons for 4.1. Modified from the RAR posted a few pages back. Again, not sure if I was just making work for myself, but it didnt take long.. here > https://drive.google.com/file/d/17y6SrCX8-cnzhkkUmvq3M2UsHUmv9Tp5/view?usp=sharing

Hey thanks!  I have one, too - just forgot to include it.  I think I was planning on releasing in the other thread, but I should probably combine it all.
I want to check yours out when I get home, and I'll have a link to mine as well!  Thanks!

mcindus I added the neon blue to balamb garden, it's up to you to judge if it's worth integrating it or modify it or not ^^

I also integrated vehicle version but it's not perfect: S

Interesting!  I didn't want to have it on the movable vehicle so that it would match the old texture, so I removed it from Crestian's, but if you go back a few pages, the one with the blue ring exists on his original, so the best combo of this would be your two world map textures with the updated blue ring, but to use Crestian's model from a couple of years ago (further back in these posts) for the blue ring around the vehicle version.  Honestly, I just want to replace these town models because they are -terrible- (they were amazing for their time).  we could have so much better these days.

So... I've been working diligently on an update to this pack, using ESRGAN, GIGAPIXEL AI, and my own Custom Textures -- but I wanted to include the GF animations with it ultimately.  What do you guys think?  Should I release Hellfire v2.0 without the animations, and include the animations in the magics/battlefx/limitbreaks pack because they all seem to share different palette/color sections?  This actually seems to make the most sense... but let me know what you guys think!  I could always take a bit longer and include the animations with the GFs in the pack, but it will also change some other magic effects in certain instances.  In the meantime, I could release all of the new GF's and show off the sparkly new textures while I finish all of the magics/effects/limits, etc. and have that done by the end of the week.

in uncheck what you say we have a better result but for npc and texture magic etc, they become pixelated. would you have a solution? ^^

I am working on NPC and magic mods right now :)

General Discussion / Re: FFVIII Remastered

They also better hope that they have implemented an audio replacement - or that RaW is compatible out of the box - because I'll say it now:  There is no way I am making RaW compatible with this game if it isn't by default.  I won't lift a finger to aid this version and waste yet more of my time.

Well... this just makes me sad.  This will likely make all gameplay mods non-functional due to how RaW and HextLaunch work. This will make the UV patch non-operable, also.
I was going to put in a bunch of effort into modding this new remaster, since we will likely be able to do model replacements needed to 'fix' what's been done; and this news is a bigger bummer to me than the lack of effort that SE put into the remaster.

Do you have Tonberry Enhanced v2.04 installed to your parent ff8 directory properly?  make sure you don't have it in a weird duplicate location.  Also, maybe try vc 2010 both x86 and x64 versions.  Also, make sure the 2013 vc++ pack you get is for SP1 due to it being the 'last' one released for that version.  Make sure you install the dx9c from the steam link in the MCINDUS guide, and run DXSETUP once it's unpacked in your temp folder.
Let me know if any of this helped!

Can you send me a file with all of those .bmps?  i'll run them through berrymapper and make a portuguese release!  Also, that iconflmaster_13 looks incorrect, so i'll have to fix that.  thanks for your feedback!  you can email the file to mcindusmods @ gmail

well, I put the link if you want me to remove it make me sign ^^

NICE! Thanks! This is my next step for release (with glitch fixes for 4.11), including the other 'custom' gradients I included with the EN version, but it's really nice for people to get the option to use them before it comes out! In the first images you posted, there was a 'line' through the blue tech gradient, but it looks like you may have fixed it? Anyway, thank you for making this available for people! I'll drop it in the main post until SR 4.11 drops :)

Hello!  This may be due in part to the indexing of the pngs listed in /ic/iconflmaster/  -- do you have photoshop?  If so, could you open the images from the iconflmaster section and see if any of them are 'background' layers that are locked?  If so, they need to be saved as a png with transparency, and this should fix the issue.  If these files look fine, then there may be an issue with the hashmap file I provided with the mod.  Do you have the right hashmap file in your tonberry/hashmap file for the Spanish version?  Can you try a different save that is on a different disc and let me know if the issue persists?

136
awesome :D it's just a shame that in French we just have alternative colors and not the custom. squall theme, high tech etc :(
not only French vers, Spanish also only has the color change without the cool textures :-\

The foreign versions are all 1/2 resolution from the Japanese/English versions.  This definitely could be modified, but I'm no coder, and have no idea how to redirect the pointers to the larger files.  Anyway, this issue prevents me from being able to port some of the color changes with the desired effect, so I'm going to have to do more work on those.  Don't worry, you'll get custom ones -- as I see it, there's a few bugs in the mods anyway, and I'm going to have to make some fixes.  Since these fixes will have to apply to the gradients, I'm going to be working on them anyway :)

To French/Spanish/German users: Is this glitch free?  In the icon menu do the numbers show up as black?  If so, I can fix this for the update as well.  It was an issue with the italian, and if that's the case, it's probably that way for all foreign versions.

I've decided to try and prepare my FF8 game for when the Spanish version of SeeD Reborn is released. So I downloaded this thing as the author said that mod is dependant on this and put it on in the ff8 folder where the .exe's are as the installation say, but then I run into this issues people is having like needing some 32 bit dll's if you playing on a 64 bit OS, there's a link and all to download them but... the link got me to no-where so now I don't know if I can use the mod or not just because I play with Windows 10, 64 bit... well now that's a kick to the balls ain't it?

---EDIT---

Also I tried to download DirectX9 runtime as another post said... it won't let me install it because I'm not using Windows server 2003, Windows 98, or others, basically my OS is messing this up...

For Windows 10, you just have to download and install both x86 and x84 versions of the 2013 VC++ redistributable package.  It comes with a lot of games, so you might have it already -- if not, just install both.  For the dx9c fix, check the MCINDUS Steam Guide and follow that link.  It should install easily for you.

Full SeeDReborn v4.1 release today!!!  Check the MAIN POST

Includes all languages with the 4.1 font and NEW Gradient color options for the text/menu boxes!  Enjoy!

ok woah... which version is this for? is it available for the spanish translation of the game? would this break the achivements? how do I install this?

ok cutting short on the questions here hehehe. This Really looks sick!

This -will- be available in Spanish by next week. Until then, here is a little present to the community.
A (quite large) package of color options available for SeeDReborn 4.0a (soon to be included with SeeDReborn 4.1)

Unpack these folders anywhere, but make sure that once you pick a color from the list of folders that you copy the 'ic' folder inside to 'steamapps/common/FINAL FANTASY VIII/textures/'
Simply merge the files and write over the 2 or 3 textures it prompts for!

SeeDReborn Gradients (for English 4.0a and 4.1)

Ok I was looking into this out of curiosity and those last screenshots of the colored menu just made me make a hole in my desktop HOLLY DAMN THAT LOOKS AMAZING! I which it was possible to have a slider so we could do more customization without having to edit it with external programs like photoshop

just Woah!

Oh you think that looks good do you? ;)
What about this?

Working on the language versions of v4.0
Sneak Peek:
GERMAN and ITALIAN -- [FRIENDS IN ITALY!!! Do you want anything else translated on this page???]

SPANISH and FRENCH -- Can it be real?

I'll be done with the pack before the end of the day Wednesday. :)  All languages.

Here's some alternates... what do you think?  I like the Italian version quite a bit now.

Fixed!  Check the link in the main post :)

Bought LP mod few days ago. got it all set up. Music works, but sounds effects dont. ex. sounds when drawing or attacking enemies, chirps when changing menu selection... but music works fine.

I've deleted the install, re verified cache, then put the mod files back in. still an issue. The only thing I didn't do was test if the effects were working prior to mod install.

Hm. This seems like an issue with the audio.  Have you installed Roses and Wine?  Have you gone into your game menu and made sure sounds are turned up?  Lunatic Pandora doesn't modify anything regarding sound files.

145
The new release of SeeDReborn v4.0a has your title screen as an option to install. Just wanted to let you know :)

146
I'm really looking forward to your next release.  Probably going to be using it on all of my mods. :D

147
Your files are not placed properly.  hash2map and collisions need to be in the MAIN tonberry folder, NOT in /hashmap -- that folder is only for specifically named hashmaps. the hash2map and collisions files are needed for main tonberry functionality and they belong in the parent FINAL FANTASY/tonberry folder.

ALSO - make sure you have ProjectAngelwing_hm.csv AND your spanish CSV for the file. it's not like the other mods where you only use the specific language hashmap.

148
Sorry about the download link everyone - I've fixed it and everything should work now.

149
I really like the new FFX inspired font.
The only major downside to the new version is that the junction icons are more ambiguous than the original text version. It is hard to decipher which is which stat, without having memorized the order beforehand.

Thanks! On that note:
Heart = Hp
Bicep = Strength
Shield = Vitality
Hand/sparkles = magic
Wing = spirit
Running = speed
Squiggly arrow = evade
Explosion = hit
Clover = luck

I personally enjoy having the additional options for the title screens and backgrounds. You don't really see them often but they're a nice treat when you do.

Just a heads up though, the current directory structure for the alternative tutorial backgrounds are all missing a subfolder, so the swap won't work for those who are directly merging the folders.

Thanks! That's a major bug I need to fix! Let me know if you find anything else!

Really awesome work! I'm gearing up to try a new FF8 playthrough for the first time in a decade or so, and I'm looking forward to trying out the full Lunatic Pandora mod suite. Is this 4.0 included in that set yet, or, if not, is it simple enough to install this one overtop the older SeeD Reborn mod it includes?

Also -- and I hope no offense is taken!! none intended -- I love all the high visual quality the many FF8 mods offer, but I admit to preferring the font a touch closer to the original style from the earlier version. I found earlier posts about just copying over certain folders from the 3.2 version to replace the fonts without replacing other stuff: is that still a viable option?

Thanks so much!

You can easily install this 'on-top' of Lunatic Pandora!  Just install LP first, and then follow the directions in this mod folder to copy over the files and merge/copy/replace! This should just be a matter of moving /textures and /tonberry into the parent FINAL FANTASY VIII/ folder.

No offense taken!  Different people like different fonts. I'm not a huge fan of the 3.5 font, even though it upscales really well, and the 3.2 is a clean copy of the PC version, but there are also two other fonts available from Yagami Light which are inspired by the PSX version of the game, which I highly recommend if you aren't a huge fan of these three options.   Just search for PSX font for ff8 on these forumes and you'll find them.  You can just copy the 'sy' folder into the FINAL FANTASY VIII/textures/ folder and copy/replace with whatever font you want! Enjoy
