« on: 2014-07-26 05:28:06 »
I'm have 2000-3000 AP to go on most of my materia to get to Bolt2, Ice 2, Fire 2, etc.

Cloud is already like level 28 though.

So idk what the issue is.

General Discussion / Re: FF7 Music behaviour poll
« on: 2014-07-26 00:36:39 »
I was wondering why I wasn't getting the battle music throughout my playthrough on every screen.

Now I know.

I was gonna try FF6... but 6 is just so specific to the mood of the game.

It's what makes 6 and 7s soundtracks so great. I think they can only fit their own games.

General Discussion / Final Fantasy VII - Project XIII
« on: 2014-07-23 06:05:43 »
It's not a mod. Rather using the power of mods to give a different and new experience.

The idea is simple. Replace Final Fantasy VII's soundtrack with Final Fantasy XIII's.

When it works, it's uncanny and absolutely amazing.

I have posted a video demonstrating how it works.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Qx1S4dTUGg

Personally, I think the music actually matches up with the gameplay sometimes and for this reason... I love it so much more.

Should I take more footage and post more? If so I will gladly do it!

Ok so how hard is this mod.

I would love to experience some new gameplay mechanics and some cool new battles....

But I'm not trying to grind like hell like Gjoerulv's hardcore mod because I gave up on that when I reached the crater on disc 2.

I find grinding to that point to not only be annoying, but to also be a waste of my time.

So, can I progress at a normal pace through the story without heavy/annoying grinding? And will I need a shitton of hero drinks just to beat some guys because I'm not about that life either.

33
No I don't need a monitor. I have a 22 inch tv.

Also, theres no disc drive on that is there?

34
You are in luck, ff7 came out like 8 16 years ago and has very low spec requirements. Even with a bunch of mods thrown into the mix, literally the cheapest brand new computer manufactured this year will play pretty well. Protip: claim the student discount from Dell, they don't check. They also have the best budget 'tiny' computers imho

Well I am a student.

Can anyone suggest one with a link?

Also, that shit will run Tifa's Bootleg no problem...?

35
If ff7 is the only game you want to play then any current mini tower would do fine. Mini towers are like laptops in a way though. A lot of the components are laptop components. So upgrading is very limited.

Yea, I just want to be able to like write a paper and play FF7.

But here's the thing. Will any current mini tower be able to do FF7 with Tifa's Bootleg and Team Avalanche mods?

36
Well not really my main priority.

Anyway, I'm in the market for a tower PC.

Basically, I would like something that I can have as a backup in case my laptop was to ever crap out.

Anyway my main priorities are the following in order from most to least important...

1. Budget, would like this to be cheap. Hopefully less than $500
2. Ability to play FF7 with all mods, even the super intensive ones like Team Avalanche, Tifa's bootleg (the big time ones in that pack), etc.
3. Portability

My dream here is the following and I know this will be a bit of an oxymoron.

A mini-tower (portable) that has a good CPU maybe a GPU added (ability to play ff7) with good airflow so I don't wreck the thing, that is relatively cheap.

I figured if anyone could help me, it would be you guys.

But I just want to be able to mod FF7 and be happy. My main issue with my laptop and FF7 is the fact that my CPU goes on overload and my fan goes fucking overdrive, even when it's vanilla ff7.

37
Sure thing. Next time dont speak for other people.

Everyone is not you.

Sorry, but Tidus is a whiny little brat who is only along for the ride.

It's Yuna's story, not his ;)

So, according to several news outlets, Final Fantasy XV won't be shown at E3 because Square wants to release information at optimal timing.

Well Square, it's not like E3 is THE BIGGEST FUCKING SHOW IN GAMING YOU DUMB TWATS.

We have yet to see ANY new footage since E3 last year and EVEN THEN WE SAW A LOT OF RECYCLED FOOTAGE JUST LOOKING PRETTIER!

This is the last straw for me. If we don't get a release date the next time this game is shown, then I am not buying it. They've screwed around with this game for almost 9 years now and it's a large possibility that it'll be a huge waste of time and the game will suck. It's not even pessimistic, it's just possible.

Sadly, this is the best looking Final Fantasy since 7 and we have been stuck waiting forever and we will continue to wait for ANY shred of information. This is a joke. An absolute joke.

The only way this gets fixed is if Square announces Final Fantasy 7 Remake at E3 this year. Because as of right now, Square is dead and I will NEVER buy another Square product if they don't give us a release date on their next announcement.

Fuck Tetsuya Nomura.

39
It looks similar to Kingdom Hearts... which is fine, those games are great gameplay wise.

What should you be mad about? Well, maybe the fact that this game might be 9+ years in development by the time it's finished (and they said an FF7 remake would take to long, fuck these asshats) and we still don't have a release date...

40
Final Fantasy's final boss themes are generally known for being epic... Sure, they aren't always top notch, but they are at least always decent.

But... Square is really just trying to fuck with us now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xO8DzhYNFYI

I understand there's a theme they are going for and I understand what it  is really incorporating, but this is a fucking joke.

Can Mistwalker start producing their own Final Fantasy series so I can go back to listening to a real composer and I can start buying Final Fantasy games again?

41
After reading up on the ending of this one (mainly due to my being on the fence on buying it, yes Square has been so bad at endings recently i check to make sure i wont be pissed before i buy) I have decided that it'd be a waste to purchase it. This series should have ended after the first XIII and been left at that. They tainted the original so damn much and even the original wasn't that great.

Spoilers from here on...

So apparently Lightning kills the creator and we go to a whole new world... this isn't profound, good, nor does it make any sense. EVEN WITHIN THE XIII MYTHOS IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE

Garbage...

General Discussion / Re: Low Poly FF7 figurines for sale
« on: 2013-09-03 17:43:20 »
Of course Square, being the asshats that they are shut this down...

I really... REALLY want the Cloud and Sephiroth one.

Does anyone have those models in a more modern file format that I could take to a local 3D printer?

43
I might buy this because I'm sick of the work it takes to mod the game. My discs are also starting to get aged wear. I know ISO's would be the answer, but whatever.

I'm thinking of just buying this and be done with modding FF7 for good.

44
That may be true the reasonable difficulty mod is great but would be better if add ons from the hardcore mod like bosses when you pick up summon materia's is a awesome idea

Oh I completely agree, especially the Soldier version of the Turks.

Those were/are great.

45
Quite an analysis although he missed the reason as to why the field models are super deformed.

46
Well it depends what kind of mods you're looking for is it graphical tweaks, audio tweaks, difficulty mods ect.?

For difficulty I would highly recommend Gjoeruvle's hardcore mod.

I don't know enough about the graphical or audio mods to point you anywhere.

I would say the hardcore mod is to much... It's almost busy work being level 70 at the Northern Crater for the first time and still getting spanked by Jenova-Death...

Go for the reasonable difficulty mod.

I would highly recommend FF7Music, Avalanche's mod, and the PRP patches.

47
Well if you don't know that is not my important for me :D

Not to be a dick, but can you learn to type proper English?

Yea, I'll try uninstalling it. The uninstaller is junk correct?

So, I should go through the control panel to do it?

I am not getting this popup... FF7Music isn't even working now.

"The program can't start because libg7221_decode.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

... So... What?

I got my APP notepad file opened and the underlined part is where I think my problem lies...

Where is that file? Where do I put it? The music won't play and I think that's the reason.
