Final Fantasy... Final Forum... All right, I'll stop.

The URL you all should bookmark is http://forums.qhimm.com.

The reason you have to click even more to get here is to break you out of any existing framesets. There still doesn't seem to be a way to combine redirections and frame targets... Silly web standards. Of course, feel free to bookmark the board URL too, but remember that site if the forums suddenly disappear again...

Ehr... that is a namezero domain. What's the point of getting another one? Besides, Namezero also "captures" pages inside its evil frame set, so the cookie problem remains unless you use breakout pages like I did.

I bought my domain name from NameZero, and got rid of that evil bar...

Well, I want them to host it until I'm ready to host it from home. (Come on DSL!)

Qhimm:  Gigabit?  I still want my green smilie!
*Sulks in jealousy*

Though there is an option for some of us out here in the boonies of the good ole' USA-DirecPC satellite connections.  Don't know how reliable it is, but you can still dial up if you suffer from rain fade or other gremlins.

Are both up- and downstream via satellite? Because most european operators (not that there are too many) use regular modem, or some other thingy for upstream. Not _the_ solution for eDonkey, that's for sure.

Edit: Can't type.

We have satelite access in M'sia too.
Only for downstream though
You still need a modem for upstream, so it isn't exactly the best solution.

i could get wireless broadband thats transmitted on radio waves right now, but you have to use a modem for upstream stuff. thats why i dont get it (an its about 50 dollrs more than dsl)

In Europe at the mo they are launching two way sattelite internet, thry say the monthly fee will be less than adsl but I reckon installation is going to be hugely expensive.

Well, we could have cable if we wanted, but it's too expensive for me with my pocket money ... I hardly can pay my dialup prices ...

As for Sat connection: Am I wrong or is there also a connection that allows you up- and downstream?

As for DSL - in my part of our city, there most probably won't be DSL - there are too less ppl who want it - or better: who have the money for it

Some guys in my class (will) have DSL connection - but me not

Alhexx:  Two way sats are relatively new, but are available.  Runs abt. $80 a month USD IIRC.  I think DirecPC is the one who does it here in the states.

And I'm sure DSL is totally overrated.  I mean, who the hell would want a fast connection to the internet, anyway?
