So while watching this i realize...
The videos seem smaller than the ones DLPB uses with his restoration project and i had assumed you used that as a base. Did you?

If not you may want to try those as they may end up with less pixaled that you are injecting.

All in all.
dumcrush looks amazing now, And you are my hero haha

Worked great.

Looks good so far, some criticism (constructive of course)

dumcrush
Tifa's fall looks so unfluid, even for a 15FPS (which i think was the frame rate of all the videos in FF7) video. clouds colors also seem a bit.. off, I know he has Mako sickness, but his face looks so, Off.

gold3:
Looks great to me!

hiwind0
He seems to rise and fall while the video just raises. Anyway to fix that? Otherwise looks great

hiwindfly
Seems there are bubbles around Barret and Tifa unlike in others, Understand if thats not correctable

monitor:
His hair is very very shiny, Anyway to correct just his hair?

ontrain:
His face is still too dark :/

southmk:
Minor white lines around the charaters, Otherwise it looks amazing!

I also think some linux Distros make you download extra stuff for NTFS support. Which if someone set up their PC with say Ubuntu, they may not know how to do. (not that i know if Ubuntu has that issue or not)

if i could only count the times i have replaced XP with a linux distro .... (hint hint)

*looks at my laptop running Lubuntu* What he said :P

Jokes aside, you have your OS driver formatted to FAT32? NTFS performs better with large drives, and you don't have that annoying 4GB file limit.
Unless you mean the USB stick, than nevermind what i said :P

Original game design is all I care about these days. I don't usually mod anything based off of spin-off series.

agreed. lest we have characters with ff12 outfits..

Hopefully my second post won't ruin anything haha :P

But These are for your translated FMV's and thus for R02 correct? or are you retranslating, than once thats done you'll work on this. Just curious :P

111
I'll upload it after work tonight. Sorry for semi high jacking your thread Aali.

112
Providing it's legal I don't mind uploading it to my drive for everyone to use. I have a store of pretty much every ff7 mod I've ever used haha

Thats okay, happy to see you're still working on it. Beautiful shots by the way

Unfortunately due to the way it works right now you probably cannot even delay the issue by making your cache bigger. The specifics of exactly where the cache resides is technically up to your OpenGL implementation but it's safe to assume that it does count towards the 32-bit address space limit. (Which is why setting it any higher than 1GB is regardless a terrible idea)

Would it be possible to patch the .exe using this? http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php
I've had to use it on Skyrim before they implemented it into the game as well as project64 using texture packs and PCSX2 when playing any game running the SnowBlind engine.

It probably isn't a permanent fix. But it may be something to get by on (back up your "original" exe)

As far as I know there is no program to extract these models. The models are extra packed in a tmd file one for the story and one for the goldsaucer.

I think you can already replace files for minigames. I recall there being a mod that made models the taller models for Chocobos and the minigame.

There is also one here for the motorbike one http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8886.0

« on: 2014-01-14 23:48:46 »
Think in order to do that I'd need a xinput to direct input wrapper for my DS3 to xinput wrapper.. haha
Guess I'll change the button set up manually per game. Was just hoping to avoid this.

All you need to do is replace the texture png that comes with Reunion with the Xbox controller graphics, and then use Gimp or some other program to fill the alpha channel in black.

I'm actually using a DS3 using Scarlet.crush's xinput wrapper. So as far as my PC is concerned i'm using an xbox controller :P

The issue is that X and Square are swapped, select is R3, i can't recall if it's the shoulder buttons to flee or not, i recall it being R2 and L2 and it's the shoulder buttons.. So the mapping is all screwy is my issue

You know what, I'll just ship the few fields that were fixed with next installer, if options ticked.  leave it with me.  Does anyone know exactly which fields were fixed?

I know kaldarasha ( I butchered that spelling i bet) is working on the community flevel project. I'd give him a ring. he may know.

You have selected "use playstation buttons"  with the normal original game.  Playstation buttons only supports Menu Overhaul.  I have already solved this for next installer.  Vincent can be fixed by using the Steam flevel :)  I suggest everyone get a copy of that really.

So i should buy it on steam just to get the flevel? haha :P

If i do will you backport the changes so no-one else needs to? haha

third time that PGP has been suggested to me (once of oblivion, once for MPC-HC and now once for this :P)

guess i should just pick it up. Just wish the game would support it natively.. ya know?

Thunderpeel, What does your program modify? I'll see if there isn't the same file in the 1998 version and make a patch myself.

If hex edits.. I'll look at the reunion documentation :P

Graphical / Re: Need some help testing FF8 models
« on: 2014-01-14 14:43:47 »
I think the only hope for FF8 is if someone takes a look at the model files finds out how to decompress, and recompress them, as well as some sort of graphics driver back end i'm sure..

Just an idea. Has anyone tried Texmod? http://code.google.com/p/texmod/

I think it requires DirectX and D3D to work though.. so i don't think it'll be a solution. But who knows.

I asked this in general but maybe this is a better suited place..

Anyway to permanently change the default button layout of the 1998 version? because seriously this is annoying as all hell.. My button map is different than the one on the main page even..

square(or X on XB) is for okay, triangle (y) is for cancel, circle (b) is for menu. L3 is select.. It's maddening! i know that i can just change it in the menu, But even that seems to prove to have issues (like if i change Cancel to Okay then i can't do anything anymore and have to reinstall..)

Troubleshooting / Re: Battle Menu Glitch
« on: 2014-01-13 15:00:11 »
Yup 8.1b, oh ok that could do it. The battle menu actually worked fine for the first battle after starting the game, but afterwards it loaded like this so that could very well be it.

I've done multiple battles and it's working fine for me. However, i have a 4 SSD RAID0 so i don't bother using the texture cache. And that could be why i don't have the issue. I'll run a test later with it on, Unless you think it is infact the issue Aali, then i'll leave it be

Cheers.  Definitely need seeders....

Seeding at work too, We have 25mpbs up here :P

I see it's been addressed, But is there a proper fix for this? I don't use bootleg as i like the control handling the files manually goes, So it's not an option for me.
