Sadly havnt gotten as far as bootlegger yet. This is on a fresh install of FF7 with just the 1.02 patch and custom driver.

I do recall accidently installing the directx 5.1 drivers when I installed the game 3-4 installs ago. Is there any way to get rid of those?

Well that could be bad. I don't think there is a clear-cut method to uninstalling directx. Maybe run a Windows Update and see if it recognizes it as outdated?  :-\

Actually got it too work. It was the Everythings white fix! Now my ONLY issue is that my text is clashing in battles and the bars arent filling up

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/Duarian/ss.jpg

Does anyone have any idea how too fix this?

Edit: Also my barrett is running up and attack enemies face too face instead of shooting them. Very odd :-\.

I had that UI issue once before, but I can't remember how I fixed it. Sorry  :| Check earlier pages to see if someone else posted. It's a common thing for first time users.

Did you install the Timu+Kleyon+Asmodean Barret? It is a bug that will be fixed in the next release. PitBrat posted the bug fixes for 0039: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=12008.msg181466#msg181466

Yep, thats the one I used. I was actually scrolling back through. As for the battle menu..I posted on the MO forums but I doubt he will reply. Hopefully somone on here will remember and shine some light on things...

Edit: think its the 9999 limit I have activated. Sadly in the midst of a fresh install now but I will try it afterwords!

Yes, the 9999 LB rings a bell. If you checked it during Bootleg, then don't enable it in BootLoader. Vice versa as well.

Yeah, bootleg is almost done. Gonna try that out in bootloader and see if it works. Pitbrat really is a genius for rolling this all into one program like this...

Edit: This is going to sound stupid, but if we are playing the english game, do we need to translate the text in anyway? I know there is a translate drop box that has english as an option..but I just left it be

edit again. 100% working so far up too the first save point :-)

I selected the English option. When I selected "No Change" my first install, many story characters would have original cannon names. You can see it in my part 2 video @ 2:30 when Marlene is introduced. Her name shows Marin. I played a bit further into the game and noticed Shinra and Turks had cannon names as well, and Barret seemed to have ReTranslation text even though I unchecked those options.

It could be another bug with the Bootleg install that PitBrat should know about.

Alright...I think when I chose too install the english version it gave me a notepad error at the end with some stuff....is that normal?

Edit: Is there any easy way too install bootleg so that I can use the re-translated text? Or should I basically do another fresh install of the game?

Edit: also don't think my save points changed to FFX as I had selected...not that big of a deal.

why would installing directx 5.1 be bad? i do it like every time i install ff7 just out of laziness. I don't think it causes any problems on my system.

In some cases, the names were translated incorrectly and kept that way, so they became the official English-language canon (for example, Barret instead of Barrett.

Yes it is. These are expected during the installation for the current release.

I hope somone here can help me fix this, I just did a run of the bootleg tool, and it seems to have worked fine, but for some reason Barret is using the wrong attack animation. He runs up and punches enemies and then I hear the gun fire. Is there a way to make him just shoot like normal?

This is a known issue with the Asmodean facelift Barret in 0038.  It is fixed for the 0039 release.
The other Barret models do not have this issue.

Still curious if anyone has encountered the save points graphic not changing or knows a work around for it. It seems like that's the ONLY thing that didn't change. Thankfully its not a big deal, but I'm a worrier so I would like to get it too work. Amy and all help is extremely appreciated!

Also another issue that I hope is an easy fix. My battle menus have no background (no blue background). Is there a checkbox for that?

Because the installation guide tells you not to install it.

+Fixed Missing OSTRe Soundtrack with ff7music_install_15113.exe
Wasn't this a bug in ff7music_install_15113.exe, rather than bootleg? I was planning on fixing it properly tonight, since I discovered this site was mentioned on kotaku, and I wanna be prepared for the inevitable influx of new users.

There's an issue when launching the FF7Music installer from a batch file that prevents it from installing OSTRe.7z even if it resides in the same folder as the installer.
So I made Bootleg manually extract OSTRe.7z after FF7Music installs.

I apologize for asking just about every stupid question in the book. Is there any downside too picking both 'use backgrounds as png' and 'use backgrounds as lnp? ' or should we only choose one?

May have gotten the wording mixed up as I'm no at home...but I believe it pertains too the battle scenes.

You only want to install one or the other, but not both. PNG is the better option.
