Still the same issues as Xandar.

White HQ Aerith (can't figure out HOW exactly to fix it. Nothing helps. Not even the tutorial. My TEMP FOLDER IS FREAKIN' EMPTY!)
Missing Menu Background!

Reaaally annoying issues, and nobody helps.

I apologize for the inconvenience.
I believe these problems are fixed with the upcoming Bootleg 040 release.
I'm just waiting on a final ulgp tool to complete testing.

Fixing and installing the HQ Aerith model manually qualifies as advanced modding.
It requires at least 2 modding tools: pcreator and ulgp.

Q:Help, I installed Always Run and now Aerith always catches me!
A:Don't hold down the RUN key to make Cloud walk.  The game thinks he's running even though it looks like he is walking.
Use only the direction keys as normal to run out of the house.  Even though Cloud is running, the game thinks he is walking.

Q:How do I toggle always run?
A:Install Kranmer's always run toggle dll
While FF7 is running, use these hot keys to enable/disable always run:
  Always Run ON . . . CTRL+F3
  Always Run OFF  . . CTRL+F4

Do intend to add the chibi reconstruction project to the bootleg installer, for those of us who enjoy chibis over the tall models? :3. Please and thank you?

I've considered adding the chibi's since the very first release of Bootleg.
You're the first person who has ever asked!
Chibi's are coming soon . . .

hey pitbrat idk if this is aloud on the forum but.... i was wundering if there was a program that i could use that i could open up BFE.exe of 0039? I'm asking this because i opened it as an archive with 7-zip and i saw an issue with the ICON folder of the BFE.exe, the 7th icon is missing the .ico format and idk if its ment to be that way but i think thats the reason i cant load the bootleg front end. if theres a program that i could use to help myself to fix that 7th icon than it would be awesome to get bfe.exe to work. also i just extracted the 7th icon and changed the blank format to .ico by renaming "7" to "7.ico" at the end, just like the rest of the icons "1.ico" to "6.ico" and "7.ico" isnt there its just "7" but it would helpfull to me if i could change it for myself or if u could fix it yourself and reuploading it for bootleg0039.zip or just fix it for your next release bootleg040.zip or whatever your gonna call it. thanks for any help in advance

I'm having the exact same problem.

I followed this tutorial exactly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_259967&feature=iv&src_vid=8e18Ay2kJE4&v=hfiVZ7YGFfA

I re-installed FF7 fresh and still the same issue.

This is the log I get, I find this line interesting:

"INFO: Mod Path: "H:\Users\Removed\Downloads\Bootleg 0039\MODS\;C:\Users\Removed\Downloads\;H:\Users\Removed\Downloads\Bootleg 0039\MODS\" as it has in the middle there a path to my C:\ Drive which (I've triple checked) is not listed in the options of BFE, they are both pointed to H: which they should be.

After this, I get no bootloader launch.

Any ideas?

Hey everyone,

It's been awhile for me posting on here, I just had a quick question about the newer bootleg.   Is it the only thing we need to download now to mod FF7, or do we still need to go get all of the other mods in order for bootleg to install them?  btw, great to see bootleg is still going strong! :)

You still need to get the mods that you choose to install.

Ok, I've gotten corrupt downloads of Bootleg, even with different computers, browsers, login points, even different Internet Service Providers! I've tried at friends and relatives houses, with their PCs, AVs, browsers, ISPs, and settings. I've even tried different Archiving software when extracting. Are there Mirrors of the file? can this one be fixed? am I fussing in the wrong forum?

Hi all.
First, a lot of thanks for this amazing bootleg, but who unfortunately don't match for me..
I explain :
I recently bought the FF7 2012 version( here since few days ). I Installed the game : OK.
In order to run all bootleg extractions greatly, I renamed my ff7_en.exe in ff7.exe
Then, i downloaded all required mods, all red before are now green, no problem at this point. I run bootleg, it does the work with the DOS prompts, and make the folder bootleg temp files properly I think.
But now, I can't launch the game, cause my FF7 launcher needs a ff7_fr.exe( or ff7_en.exe) to launch it. So I renamed it to the original ff7_fr.exe name, the launcher appears, but an error message   saying : Please Insert FFdisc 1 2 or 3.
If I don't rename my ff7.exe before running bootleg, it doesent work, and I have same error messages than ic6n, just before my message.
Someone could help ?

What 'kind of FF7 version' needs Bootleg to work ? ( The 1998 original version ? ). I suppose my 2012 remake should work too..
Thanks a lot by advance.

Sorry KuugenTheFox, but I didn't understand exactly what you mean by 'rename one of your drives into what the disc name of the old game is'.
I'm french, sorry for my bad english comprehension..
Thanks nevertheless for your answer

You need to convert FF7 2012 to FF7 1998, then it can be modded with Bootleg. Here is a tutorial video on how to do so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfiVZ7YGFfA

The next release of Bootleg 0040 should apply the conversion automatically  :)

Figured it out.

I installed it to my H: drive in a folder Square Enix instead of my program files folder.  This fixed any permissions issues I guess were going on.

Do you see the option called "Translate Text"? Select French in the drop-down menu.

I remember at one time there was talk of getting bootleg to work without having remix at all. That's why I had asked about the mods. Plus I kind of forgot about the BFE helping you see which mods were needed.

Installed the game, bootleg worked fine. Enjoying a modded FF7 now.  Plus I enjoy the new ff7 Bootloader.  That thing is awesome!!  Now I'm going to go back and catch up on some reading and see what bugs are in bootleg 39 and what 40 is adding, cause so far, my ff7 is running like a charm and I have the mods I wanted.
