Shademp, BrutalAl, and GlitterBerri comment on the differences between Final Fantasy VII prerelease screenshots and the final version of the game found on RPGamer:

Take a look at the full collection of screenshots on RPGamer and let me know if I failed to include something noteworthy. Also, be sure to point out anything we missed!

Part 2 of the analysis, this time focusing on scans found in a May, 1996 issue of GameFan magazine, 9 months before the game's release:

most intriguing. Always neat to see the organic development process.

I think there are some on Unseen64, too.

In fact, why don't I put a few together and upload them to Youtube tonight? Assuming my HDD doesn't die.

I wanna go to that house!

*stamps feet*

I wonder why they took it out? And I wonder whether it had anything to do with those Key Items that never get used (the letters to the daughter and wife)?

Assuming my HDD doesn't die.

So, you still haven't bought a new one? ;D

Somewhere on the web are even concept sketches that look very different.
Perhaps they are from the Ultimania Omega?

Do you know where they might be found?

I have seen a picture of a cut battle scene, looks like Kalm.

Really interesting is the never used love points system.

The PSX reactor demo doesnt sport many big differences.

Never-used love points system? If I'm not mistaken, isn't it used to judge who you go on dates with at the Gold Saucer? And do you know where one might find the Tobal demo? I have a friend that's looking.

I think he might be talking about the "LOVEPARA CHR" stuff that appears in the AI for several characters but seems never to get used. One assumes that, at some point in the game's development, there was a system whereby actions in battle would influence the Gold Saucer date.

The Japanese Tobal FFVII demo, to be more precise. ;)
Already got the English one.

EDIT: Nevermind, found the demo now.

in the save map, there are Two love points one for regular (for the date scene) and another set that is as far as i can tell unused. how ever the values are changed during play (we can see this in black chocobo's test data tab).
