Also, can you make the scripts for save points a template? So it will be easy to add new save points  :)

This is an excellent idea!

Vmp format consists of a 128-byte header (with checksum) followed by the raw memorycard (<=> mcr format).
For *.psv there is a big checksum too. These formats are highly protected, I can't do anything .

New version (1.2):
  • Add "Hidden" option in Miscellaneous > Party > Party Order
  • Fix a bug with "character available" option
  • Removing dlls (windows only)
  • Edit memory card header and restores deleted saves now work

Edit 1: I found a bug with the "Hidden" option. I'll fix that soon.
Edit 2: Bug fixed in v1.2.

New version, Hyne opens PS3 PSN format, but psv and vmp format are protected by a checksum, it only works on hacked PSP (in theory).

Quote
2. at a few scenes i get an onscreen error message, that the game couldnt READ wind.wav file. the scene, where barret meets his friend crashes, depending on how fast you kill the game, app.log file might become over 100mb size. removing the file wind.wav file didnt help (app.log stated, that it could open the file wind.wav). the only way to get past that scene was to use original ff7config.exe file. (i figured that all by myself too 8)).

This is a problem with the ff7config? I thought it was a bug in the game

Also can you add a 3d objects and walkmesh view, so it is easier to figure out the x,y,z coordinates.

Easier said than done .

Wait a moment, I think I'll update soon :D.

Elio2690:
I am not a save database ^^. But... okay : ff8-001.mcr

NCS:
For the moment I do not know create saves for the PSN. But I'm rewriting my code to minimize the corrupt of saves.

To all:
I found some serious problems that are likely to destroy the saves, be sure to make copies of your files, as with Griever :P.

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / Re: FF7 Field editing
« on: 2010-04-20 21:13:50 »
so I just need to know which file holds the data for the very first event (with the Potion-holding corpses)

Look MD1STIN.DAT.

574
I've never seen it used anywhere though, but if a field background uses it I could add support for that too.

Yes it is used. I made a complete list:
  • colne_3 & min71: tv
  • fship_5: drinking trough for chocobos
  • nmkin_1: buttons for opening doors
  • prisila: lamp
  • ujunon4 & 5: shine ocean

575
This background looks like Yougan2.

I can assure you that this is a field background.
