It is not a laptop it is a desktop you could not fit 64 gig in a laptop,I do now know what a page file is now the size says 8000mb

Ah, well I've never worked with more than 16gb of ram, so I'm not sure if the standard rule applies, but normally the page file should be 1-2x as large as your physical memory. So if the standard rule applies, your page file should be anywhere from 64-128gb.

No other programmes are running at all, updated all drivers to latest I am not sure what you mean by page file pit.

Sorry if this sounds rude, but who orders a laptop with 64gb of ram, if they don't know what a pagefile is?

I have a PS3, Xbox 360, and a Wii and they are all collecting dust.

I am primarily on Steam and have always wanted to be able to play my same Steam games on my TV.

Thanks to Steam Big Picture Mode, WHDI, and USB Sharing, I stream my games from my office to my living room and play using a 360 controller. Or even multiplayer using two controllers with a friend.

And for games like Counter-Strike Global Offensive, I just stay in the office.

No need to have two computers, synched save files, or consoles.

To sum it up: I hope that Steam does away with consoles.

iirc there are options to hide system essential folders from view and if that is enabled, system32 is basically 'invisible'

The problem that the person is having, isn't a folder visibility issue. It's an environmental variable that is normally correctly configured, but for some reason is no longer on the user's system.

Troubleshooting / Re: FF7config.exe Crash (No solution found in other thread)

I'm guessing it could be one of the Visual C++ Runtimes since FF7 & FF7Config requires one of them, or the .NET Framework 2.0 is corrupt .

After reproducing the error try the following:

    1. Right Click my Computer
    2. Click Manage
    3. Navigate to Event Viewer -> Windows Logs - > Application
    4. Check which DLL created the error.
    5. Google the DLL to find out which Runtime Package needs to be reinstalled.
    6. Login as the real Administrator, the user is actually called "Administrator" (by default in Vista and Win7 it is disabled).
      To enable the Admistrator
         a. Right Click My computer
         b. Click Manage.
         c. Navigate to Local Users & Groups -> Users
         d. Activate the "Administrator" by changing it's properties, and set a password by right clicking the user
         e. Restart and login as the Administrator
    7. Download and Reinstall the Runtime Package.
    8. Restart and login as your normal User

Also it seems that the 040 version may have to be tweaked when it comes to installing videos. After looking at the directory structure I noticed that the following two videos exist for every language:

jenova_e.avi
Ending2.avi

I'm guessing that the user will have to always select "No Change" for the FMV Cutscenes in order to avoid potential problems.

EDIT

I'm assuming that the directory structure in the release isn't too important since Kranmer's patch most likely recreates the old structure. I'm guessing the only problem is the ff7_XX.exe's not being named as FF7.exe

I am so excited for the next release of Bootleg. I just got WHDI working. I transfer 1080p video and audio to my TV in the living room from my office, whenever I want to play games with the controller. This game is going to be awesome in the living room  Just like good old times on the PSX.

I used to repair computers for a living. Whenever I couldn't access a hard drive in windows, I would access the hard drive via a Ubuntu Live CD.

I would download the Ubuntu ISO. Install it on a USB drive using the program "unetbootin". And then boot from the USB while restarting the PC.

You don't have to install Ubuntu, just use the Live disk and then from there you have access to your hard drives.

I would then copy the files that you are trying to access, and afterwards, reformat the drive in Windows.

What surprises me more is the fact, that there is someone who uses a 64bit OS with only 1 GB of RAM.  It makes no sense if your amount of RAM is less than 4 gigabyte. 

Sadly most store bought computers have 64-bit operating systems installed even when only 1 GB of ram is available. No it doesn't make any sense, but they sell them anyways and the end user has no idea.

I am new to this modding stuffs. I would like to know if this modding works with the new version of FF7 remake?

If you are new to modding, I would recommend waiting for the next version of Bootleg which has a patch to automatically convert the new FF7 release to the older release to enable mod support.

If however, you would like to do it yourself, there are plenty of forum entries that you can find using the search functionality of the forums.

But just as a warning: it converts the new FF7 to the older release. Meaning all the new functionality of the re-release, Cloud Saves, profiles, achievements, etc, will no longer work.

After even more testing and fiddling the before/good logs say the same thing exact thing as the logs that crash except the good logs keep recording after the entry "sound initialized" and the crashing logs just stop there.  Forgetting the remix music and just allowing the midi music to run doesn't change anything.

I think I have an idea of what could be the problem.

1. Right click FF7Config.exe, "Run as Administrator".
2. Choose your audio device that you would like to use.
3. Save changes and close.
4. Try again.

I had this exact same problem when using USB headphones. I had installed the game using USB headphones, and the next time I tried playing FF7, I didn't have the USB headphones in the same port where it was originally installed. This caused the game to crash until I re-selected the audio device within FF7Config.exe.

Actually, the Bootleg Configurator works well when FF7 is not installed in the default directory. My FF7 install directory is D:\FF7 (FF7 in order to prevent problems with the installer not recognizing spaces).

Please read all the tutorials and tips on the site in order to correctly install the Bootleg Configurator because that is (in my opinon) the best way to pick and choose different mods.
