Maybe I'm mistaken, so were there two people working on two sound effect projects?  One was a SFX replacement (to have whatever you want), and another to restore the sounds back to their PSX originals? I just want to set the record straight that I'm not getting these things mixed up.

the background mod...
tsk...
boy, bye.

What the deuce are you talking about? I thought there was someone working on restoring the SFX as well, not the mod per se?

From the start I was never doing this for anyone but myself. Did you not catch on from the beginning? All the videos I posted, showed new custom sfxs, not sfxs from FFIX. It was obvious then, and my last video, clearly shows the menu sounds weren't from FFIX.

There's not and never will be a sound mod release, now go latch onto that other guy.

Oh....what other guy? I didn't know there were two people working on sound effects.  You mean Meru and Froggoso?

Well maybe you never should've even teased it in the first place, if all you were going to do was withhold it from release; don't make promises you can't keep.

Memoria update:

The sound effect mod is done.

I assume we just wait for a download link to be generated?

I knew it was some bug!  8)
Working now.
Get a font compatible with Hades W and this mod is complete.

Wait, what mod is this? A font mod, or the sound effect mod?

Enemy death sounds have been fixed, I don't think there is a mod for it yet.

It's been a week, I guess there's been no progress.

88
thanks !

Then, if I convert, how do I aplly the reunion patch on the converted version with 7 heaven ? (that way I have also the waifu)

You have to convert it first, delete ff7_en.ex, then when running Reunion, it detects it as the Win 98 version. But beware, it conflicts with 7H's filter and removes it somehow.

89
thanks ! I played the game with an early release of the reunion and the menu overhaul was included.

Is it worth it to play with other mods ? I mean, what mods would you add to your game ? NPC models? Boss models? etc ?

Also, the steam version included better music, is it still worth it installing the anxious heart ?

Can I install the Waifu background along the reunion and without the game converter ?

thanks !
Your best bet for backgrounds is to use the SweetFX CRT/scanline mod, if you don't want to convert. Stupidly enough, Waifu is made impossible thanks to the Steam version, you have to convert otherwise.

Current version of Ted Woolsey Uncensored Edition is now 1.93. A lot of script and bug fixes have been implemented. The biggest change, thanks to Madsiur of ff6hacking.com, is that there is the option to use a Music Player with this. The code had to be moved to a special location in the ROM due to other bug fixes in order to work properly, but works with all versions of Woolsey Uncensored. For those of you still stuck on using ZSNES, the Main Menu version of the Music Player works.

I hope people still don't use Zsnes, Snes9x and Higan FTW :P But this update, awesome work :D

Yeah, I can't believe Square Enix allowed them to even release such shoddy work; if anything.

But you guys have done amazing work to undo their shoddy work, that's the important thing. I can't even enjoy the port with the sound being so FUBAR. Take as much time as you guys need :P

So, looks like I was knocked out for like 12 hours, after being up for 13 dedicated to getting this fixed. >.<
Okay, more fixes. And when its finished, its easy install too. Just replace the p0data61-3.bin files and you're good to go.
No interfering with Hades Workshop, Memoria, or the HD background Mod!

Thing is, I noticed, all the common sfxs were split into 3 or 4 parts, so, all I really had to do was replace all three parts with the original sfx, and voila. The squeak is gone. I could tell this is was right step, when Bio - multiple targets sfxs didn't sound like "wobbly" cartoony noise. (Seen in video part 2 - time: 1:22).

Someone said this, and I agree, reason for the sfxs being split was cause of the speed booster; playing at different frames.
And, instead of using the original, they recorded freshly "new" sfxs for that reason; which is horrible in the end result, clearly.

Yeah, they really could've put more effort into it, had Square Enix worked on it, they would've gotten it right; SE games typically have correctly implemented sound effects, even if the reverb is missing in FF7 and FF8. Keep up the good work.

Got it fixed!
And now thanks to you, Albeoris, the work can flourish now.
I've made significant progress in getting the original sfxs back in the game; even fixing the dreadful sandstorm sfx.
I also used some of Final Fantasy XII's sfxs I had laying around for testing only, (its the cure spells, Esuna, remedy, potion, menu sounds, etc.)
but definitely with the Sound debug room, I was able to identify the common "botched", and horribly sounding sfxs made by Silicon Studios.

It took, OMG, I got a headache, long time to get these sfxs replaced. And there's bit more. Some of which, surprisingly haven't changed, so that's good on me. I had a productive day so, I got a fat chunk taken care of. Thank god.
Now, I'm gonna take a nap. I'm worn out!

On the side note, I got perfect loops in replacing tons of music files. So I know it works now.

Oh yeah, here's the progress:

Holy crap, this is amazing, seeing proper sound effects, thank you guys for your hard work so far :D

I haven't had a problem with your posts tbh. It's not related to The Reunion really, but I've given up caring as much about offtopic posts.

I don't use 7h so I can't do much about all this.  All I'd say is that the modpath is usually where it all happens, so as long as all files are in there, it's good.  But you can't use 7h menu / retranslation with the installer on this thread.
I was just frustrated, I couldn't get anything to work, that's all. Thank you for your replies though, and I look forward to seeing updates to this.

Edit: For filtering, I can always use this http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=162106660&searchtext=SweetFX

I almost forgot it existed.

When the latest Reunion is released, it will no longer require the current installation methods.  So it may fix all these issues anyway.

I'm...trying to understand everything that's going on, all I really wanted was a way to filter the backgrounds in the Steam version (similar to the Tonberry FFVIII mod), that's all I really wanted in the end. I never meant for any of this BS, or my posts of ingratitude. Ugh, I feel absolutely horrible :(

You don't need to extract any iros files. Once you run the game through 7th heaven it will then place everything you need in the correct folder for you. Then when you close it it takes them back out again. This way nothing can ever break by having to do them yourself.

So its fine that the folder is empty.

Once 7th heaven is installed. And you've used the game converter. Then install the reunion itself from this thread. Change the modpath to textures in the opengl and run the game. It should be that easy. I find if I don't change the modpath all the text is miss aligned  and too big for the boxes so changing to me was nessesary.

Then once you have the field backgrounds mod downloaded jisy have them activated and all should be fine.

That's just it, the mod path is set to Textures, I didn't even change it, and yet Reunion being installed once 7H is installed ruins all the filtering. I mean, sure if I could replicate all the model mods that Reunion had in 7H (every single battle, field, NPC), then sure, I would use that instead, but unfortunately, no such mods exist on 7H.  I'm really close to throwing my arms up.

Place these files in your FF7 root folder:
https://mega.nz/#!XF0AGKIK!AJXtPVv4QvmKOXXSVsuqvNkoJPw5zc_Ot3c3G1XTGG0

Thank you, also regarding Reunion royally ruining the filtered backgrounds (again, the conflict with 7H filter), I can't seem to get them to work, despite moving files around, doesn't seem to be reverting back to the filtered texture state. Weird.

Nope, the driver use either textures or reunion, BUT you can take the files from the reunion and copy them over to textures.

Yeah, so about that. So the texture folder is there, right? Well, even after downloading the 3.3 GB texture pack, the texture folder is completely empty for some reason. Like, 7th Heaven "downloaded" it, but it's nowhere to be found. What gives?  I'm...starting to get a feeling of anathema right now. :-\

Edit: Are we supposed to extract the IRO files that it downloads and put it in textures or what? The only thing I want from Reunion are the model overhaul mods, 60 fps mod, and translation, that's really it.

Edit 2: Yeah, this is weird, despite having the texture path set to the Textures folder, Ozmy's texture pack is NOT installing to the folder. How does that work?

Final: Oh! The texture filtering seems to be working, weird, now, I wonder if I can now use Reunion for those three mods xD Now to map the Xbox 360 controller so it works with the d-pad.

If it isn't present then create it. Actually the GC for 7th Heaven should create it.

Yeah, the texture folder generated this time around. Also, I assume I can use both mods at the same time right? I can use 7H for the texture filter, but Reunion for the others I want to use?  Hopefully this time the games doesn't get those corrupted textures again. What is the load order supposed to look like?
