Title: FVII crashes during battles in Cargo Ship
Post by: Helmic on 2010-04-20 01:51:19
I'm using the Remix 2.5.1 patch by titeguy with Aila's driver 0.7.7b.  What happens is that when I enter any battle while on Cargo Ship, random or with the battle with Jenova, the game crashes after the battle swirl before the whole battle screen is visible.

GLITCH: broken p file: vertextype == VERTEX in CLOUD.W07
ERROR: unhandled exception

I'll refrain from making wild guesses.  I fiddled with various settings in the openGL config file, nothing changed.

is that the full app.log? it looks to me like there should be much more, usually people can't fit it all on one post

That is indeed the whole shebang.  My last save is on the deck of the ship, not much happens between that and the first battle.  I believe the error is in that last part:

GLITCH: broken p file: vertextype == VERTEX in CLOUD.W07
ERROR: unhandled exception

So I assume it'll be relatively easy for someone to diagnose.

Where is your crash.dmp? That glitch message is unrelated to the crash.

Next time you should really put the crash.dmp in a zip file, makes it atleast 10x smaller.

Sorry about that.  It seems I had the exact same problem as Dolraith (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=9689.0) but didn't notice until I tried using Tifa - I had used an old save when I first installed the Remix patch.  I did figure out that the Force Stealer is what's screwed up on Cloud's end, though I'm sure everyone already knows that.  Thanks for looking into it though, it's much appreciated.
