First of all, I think they're called "mini-games"..and yes I do believe that people have gone over this "FF7 in winxp" problem before. Check the "Frequently Asked Questions" branch of the board for info on this.  I think there was even a patch for ff7 that fixes the game to work in xp..but I'm not sure if it even worked, because I never was able to download it (missing link, whatnot) when I DID use windows xp.

Oh, and please provide more information..such as your computer specs.

actually no,
i mean megagames... not minigames.
Im trying to be very tactful with this touchy subject,
and this particular way of talking about the issue is the best i can come up with...
so again, anybody with knowledge from megagames with regards to ff7 movies using xp please pm or post a reply.

Exactly...I don't think there's some super mega-game in ff7 that nobody knows about. Are you sure it's not the "mini-games" in the game such as the motorcycle chase, snowboard time trial, or the chocobo fighting frenzy(racing)? Seriously man..be more specific.

Heh, Caddberry I love how your location immediately goes from hell to heaven. Are you some sort of door-to-door salesman for the deceased?

I think he means the Megagames "play the game with movies without having the CD in the drive" hack.  If that's right, then you can do this with some careful editing in the registry and copying the movies to a folder on your hard drive.  There are other posts on this board about it too.

I think i am still clueless on the megagames thing.. why not just say.. NoCD crack.. where does this so called megagames thing fit in?

i .. i am not a door to door salesman for the deceased.. sometimes that could be a fitting description.. maybe.. but my life is like a yo yo of ups and downs.. nothing put me on cloud 9 tho this tiem.. i just didnt feel like being in hell anymore so i figured cloud 9 wouldnt be a bad place to dwell.. kinda like D7 :) Though i cant really bitch about my life people deal with what they are dealt.. sometimes it sucks sometimes its great.. tho i have had some major problems i learn from experience and this is what i crave..

hahaha....there is a winxp ff7 patch on the internet, that will fix alot of things, also it will let you view ff7 in 32bit color...its nice

another thing, i remade the ff7 game thats floating around on kazaa, it now works, and its only about 250mb, it doesnt have movies with it tho, you can play your own movies off of the hd with a little regediting. also you dont need cds, it goes right on your hd....its tricky to get it to work, but it works....i would send it, but that would be illegal.
the only reason i made it is because i have ff7, the cds are scratched, so the movies wont play...and it freezes when i start a game.....plus, i hate switching cds

ha, what i meant was, i dont like using cds in the first place, cause i take crappy care of them, and they get scratched, and then i cant use them...like stupid fallout2...

by megagames, i think he means epic megagames, lol, thats the only explination i can think of, either that, or im too stupid to figure out what it is...
here is a patch i had in my bookmarks.
im not sure if its the same one, but it still should be a good one.

you guys....

i did ask awhile back about the nocd crack for ff7 using xp, and it was taken off the board for legal issues.  so this time i tried not to be as obvious... i picked a game hack web site and phrased my question through that...

so to be painfully obvious,
my question is,

i want to run ff7 on my computer without the cds, i have all the movie files already on my computer, and a game hack downloaded.  the problem is that the movies wont play... i went to regedit to have the movie path = the place where i have the movies located yet nothing happends...

so i was wondering if you guys could help a girl out and tell me what to do

.....

how 'bout spending 30 dollars for a preowned Playstation & memory card and 9 dollars for a preowned FF7 game.....

Because getting the moves to play is just going to be the beginning of your problems, with that FF7 port.

What too much? Then just get the PSX game, and emulate it with ePSXe. You can pick up a copy of FF9, Crono Cross, and Xenogears while your there. But Xenogears isn't cheap. They're still asking 40 dollars for that one.

Normally anymore i dont download cracked games.. I usually make isos myself if i can help it.. A lot of the cracked games dont work right.. or for some reason they are just unstable.. um but i am sure there is info on getting the movies running somewhere.. in fact i thought all u had to do was edit the registry...

I'd say, get CloneCD's Virtual Clone Drive (included in CloneCD 4.2) and run the game from an image file.
